  1. “The reason has been posted multiple times in the past.” Really???……not around here it hasn’t ! So are you saying somebody Does know Exactly what parts are Not compatible and are likely to/will fail?
  2. Here we go…..’Cat amongst the Pigeons’ time…. If early 250 can/should only run on E5 and are not compatible with E10 ( only a 5% difference!) then as E10 is anything UPTO 10% Ethanol then check this vid out.😳
  3. Ditto on the price of fuel, don’t hold your breath on it coming down, I can’t remember when prices have fallen on anything.🙄
  4. The IS250 is nothing special with regards to servicing and any garage worth its salt should be able to do it all day long or they should’nt be calling themselves a ‘Garage’ DIY is quite realistic with basic tools and this is the route I take, as the car is now 15 years old then the ‘stamps in the book’ are not required for me as I have no intention of ever selling mine😀
  5. I have never owned such a good car as this and you gonna have to pry it out of my dead cold hands for me to give it up😂. Even if they discontinue E5 completely, some stations around my no longer stock it! ( mine is Not E10 compatible🙄) then I will run it on E10 with fingers crossed and fix whatever fails, if or when it does😩 I have come to the conclusion that nice things cost money, no surprise there, I (have) worked all my life and earned money and now retired I am gonna enjoy things no matter how much they cost! Yes would be nice if Tax/Fuel/ was cheaper but it is what it is.
  6. That plastic piece in use here on a vertical mounted filter.
  7. Did the topic of Drone come up when they were discussing the lifetime ss option?
  8. A defective ( as in holed) exhaust will allow air in and upset the readings of the O2 sensors. So if you know exhaust is suspect then there might not be anything wrong with sensors themselves or anything else! Then mention of LEAN in fault code insinuates too much fresh air. Firstly address exhaust problem and reset ecu ( disconnect battery earth connection for 10 mins) or if that’s your OBD reader happy days👍
  9. Please bear in mind that Mechanical problems rarely ‘fix’ themselves and tend to rear up later down the line with a vengeance! If it was me I would go over each corner of the car with a fine tooth comb and while there give everything a good service ( especially ensuring calipers slide pins are well lubed up, should be done periodically anyway)
  10. It’s Not! After market HID need head lamp washers fitting and the lens reflection pattern won’t be compatable with the LED’s also 🙄
  11. And deep pockets or don’t mind the thought of running with one kidney😂 https://www.england.nhs.uk/contact-us/privacy-notice/how-we-use-your-information/our-services/payment-for-living-kidney-donation/
  12. No….like my old (and very wise mum said ) don’t believe everything you read! And do your homework 😂
  13. If you mean an IS200 then it is here ( in the IS200 section) But if you mean an IS200D ( DERV) then I don’t think there is a current check list around here.
  14. I would take all the wheels off and have a good visual inspection of wheel nuts, hubs, discs, calipers, abs rings…..basically everything that moves on each corner of the car! ASAP as the “jolt under braking’ is a bit concerning!!
  15. I think a good strong vacuum might be better than poking sharp objects into the top quality perforated Lexus leather 😳
  16. If you need to remove the actual socket in the ash try drawer then the centre consul trim comes out quite easily ( taking care not to chip the trim by using trim tools and not metal screw drivers!)
  17. Be advised though that this will not actually fit IN a IS250, so if it gets delivered to your home address you somehow gotta get it to exhaust shop!
  18. The drivers window only working from the drivers switch panel means the window system needs a re-learn to reset the auto close feature, this indeed happens after a battery removal or a battery dropping to a low voltage. reset the windows as below
  19. Ok, appreciate the link and it calls the two systems ‘Direct’ and ‘Indirect’ it also states that all Lexus cars after 2012 are fitted with ‘Direct’ system. But Johnlex has a 2009 ( according to his profile!
  20. Does this system work with a wireless remote sensor in each of the car wheels tyre valve or via the abs ring detecting a out of sync wheel motion due to a different wheel diameter and calculating a pressure drop?
  21. No surprise there! Just as I expected, only a bit more ‘Flowery’😂
  22. So….,,,been thinking about this and if ( and it’s a BIG if) the only component that Lexus cannot/will not guarantee is compatible with E10 is this ‘O’ ring seal ( caveat: there may be other components) then what would be the likely consequences of if failing? Catastrophic fuel failure due to loss of fuel pressure from pump? Or a slight loss of fuel pressure only noticeable under maximum demand from pump? and ( I don’t know exactly ) where this ‘O’ ring lives and what it’s purpose it serves. just looked it up and it appears to be pump to fuel tank sealing ring itself ! So would not affect the running of the car itself but if compromised could allow fuel/vapours to be released from fuel tank under rear passengers seats 😳 And as for dealer stating there is no way to make it compatible!!! If it is this seal ( only) then REALLY!🙄 I know they want yo sell new cars but 🤯
