  1. So a 2011 SE-L has more 'kit' than a 2013 Premier? paul m.
  2. I would be very wary of putting my finger ( or any other body part) anywhere near a suspected leaking super high pressure fluid line. High Pressure Fuel Oil leak injury shown here at section 2.3 WARNING : Graphic Content. http://www.hse.gov.uk/research/rrpdf/rr976.pdf Paul M.
  3. Diesel's are not my forte but I suspect that ( at only 56k) your's has never had an EGR clean, do a search on here and check out the procedure ( quite doable by home mechanic I read). paul m.
  4. Gotta start with the basics... All wheel nuts secure are they? ( No I'm not taking the Michael, see below ) Any work done on running gear recently inc tyres? Tyre pressure all good and close inspection ( inc inner Walls) of all rubbers OK ( cuts, bulges or irregularities ) After checking all this ( no cost) then next course would be getting wheel alignment done. ( last done ??) Steering Wheel shake problem here https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/118865-ls400-steering-wheel-shaking-between-60-65mph/?tab=comments#comment-1083521 paul m. Basics, Basics Basics. https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/118801-ls430-knocking-sound-after-brake-job-help/?tab=comments#comment-1082960
  5. Really need to get a 'sniff' test for hydrocarbons in the coolant done as this is going to confirm the HG failure, personally I can't see it being anything else ( hopefully wrong) and your symptoms sure do indicate a very sick engine! paul m.
  6. No conservative driving here ( or I would of got a Prius and not a V6!), all stock ( engine wise) and I'm getting this... . above two screen shots are after doing 3 Uni Viewing runs! and below is 'normal' use in PWR mode (Hhmmmmmm!!!)
  7. Lots of info here and need to check your own VIN plate to confirm capacities ( or Not ) as the case may be. https://www.towbarexpress.co.uk/maximum-towing-weight/ paul m.
  8. Agreed.. Don't seem to be many people that can actually 'fix' things anymore without throwing new parts at it hoping it's gonna sort the problem. Case in point here https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/119334-occasional-starting-problem/?tab=comments#comment-1088172 And charges customer for parts that don't fix it/aren't required! Brilliant business model! paul m.
  9. Don't wish to be the bearer of bad news but the Diesel Lexus ( 220 anyway) has got a history of failing head gaskets! Hopefully this is not the case with yours but be prepared for the worst. As you have only had it 3 days then sadly I suspect it was overheating before you owned it, Did you buy it private or dealer/trader? If dealer/trader then it is not 'fit for purpose' and should be returned! How much 'homework' did you do before opting to get the 220 over the 250 say? do some searching/reading on this site concerning '220' and 'head gasket' to get upto speed with the problem. paul m.
  10. Confirmation, 2 Step Unlocking. All doors should unlock if you press 'unlock' button on keyfob Twice. So global unlocking ( single push) is available if you have Techstream in the Customizable or Personalisation settings, or if you still frequent the Dealers they may do it foc ( Ha!) next visit. paul m.
  11. Not sure on resetting the locking ECU specifically but have you done a total 'soft' reset by way of removing battery negative terminal? And concerning the recent RF problem, did you get a definitive cause or has it subsided? paul m. Note, just had a thought and it might be two level unlocking for security reasons, ie if you return to car alone and approach from drivers side then unlocking with remote only unlocks drivers door to prevent any Herbert gaining access into the passenger side.
  12. Check this thread out, main dealer was £10.96 apparently ( colour coded!)
  13. Have a read here And here If you have Voice Control you could try changing the Temp that way. As above the central unit is removable and if done carefully with plastic pry tools you should leave no trace that it has been out! lots of vid's on you tube showing how to to it. paul m.
  14. Case in point, This member recently sold his (beautiful) 2008 ISF with Lexus warranty to 2020!
  15. Prepare to go and have words! It may be titled ' 10 Year / 140,000 Mile Warranty ' but this is the point at which you must have Started the Warranty by, see paragraph 1.1 (f) in document. Check warranty conditions posted in a link in this thread
  16. Al those items are really 'wear 'n tear' items but it's a shame they all cropped up at the same time, the cam belt is ( according to a sticker!) 10 years old so is at the end of its service life regardless of miles done. As stated nothing there to indicate the actual demise of the overall car if you keep on top of it. best of luck and nurse the 'old girl through! paul m.
  17. "it's a shame it cannot be renewed any further!" Are you thinking as the car is over 10 years old you cannot have the warranty? As far as I understand it, you have to start the Lexus warranty before the 10th year from 1st registration ( also less than 100k miles & full Lexus history or an 'acceptance' inspection is required) but when started it can be renewed past the 10 year mark so as you currently have it you should be able to continue it. paul m.
  18. Looks like it was done according to Bill. OS Brake Pike £67.39 NS Brake Pipe £75.36 paul m.
  19. MOT requirements regarding registration plates.....
  20. Got a new Wireless doorbell/cam has anyone?
  21. All noted, thanks, will endeavour to install Netflix soon as! paul m
  22. That's encouraging! Gonna have to go out and attempt to install it again, But gotta ask Lee, what version of android do you have in use the 5.1 or 8.1? Just worked out you must still be using the 5.1 as you have asked to 'borrow' Billy's 8.1 SD card! I might be cheeky and ask the same but as the saying goes 'if it ain't broke, don't try and fix it' might mean I leave it a while? paul m.
  23. What happens if you drive a couple of miles away and try locking/unlocking it there? paul m.
  24. Hope the 'upgrade' to 8.1 goes swimmingly and you don't get any problems ( fingers crossed knowing all things Grom! ) Question? Is there going to be anything remarkable with having 8.1 installed? Just after I installed my VL2 I tried loading the Netflix app but it was not compatable, do you know if it will be with 8.1 installed? cheers Paul m.
