  1. So would a soft reset ie disconnecting the vehicle negative battery connection for a short time 10-15 mins be likely to resolve this as there is no real fault as such with the car? paul m.
  2. As a side note, whenever I read about people having problems with their cars after driving through flood water I can't help think that if it were to happen to me ( not likely as I would rather drive an extra 10 miles to avoid!) then I would try and seek the help of a paint spraying garage that had a paint curing oven and pay for some time for the car to be placed inside said oven to try and dry things out a lot quicker/if at all if left naturally at this time of year, like I said just a thought and wondered if anyone had ever done this. paul m.
  3. Basically go all over the car with a 'heavy' hand grabbing and pulling at anything and everything because at 60 mph the wind and more important the turbulence over and under the car is tremendous force, you must have stuck your head out of a car window when you was a kid but I bet you'd be reluctant to do it now at 60 mph! paul m.
  4. Not that I would have an interior of this colour but this is one sweet looking IS250c but the twist is the Sour price, I thought convertibles were cheap in the winter but obviously not! https://www.southwestlexus.co.uk/cars/lexus/is/250v6vvt-iautoadvancespecialedition/305810/ note: I am NOT affiliated with this seller in any way!
  5. To be honest you will struggle to find one with it anyway! There are 17 SE-L's on Autotrader right now and none ( yes I really did check!) have got ACC/PCS, not even the one that's listed for £11,975! So don't think you need worry about it interfering with any addons!
  6. As above really! Note PCS is fitted in conjunction with ACC and this can be identified on an equipped car by the ‘Distance’ select button on the right hand side of steering wheel. Gotta say though, Don’t base your selection of car ( ie an IS250) solely on this feature as now this technology is 13 + years old and not really comparable to new car PCS of today! Also you concern about ‘clogging up’ I think by this you are referring to the downside of Direct Injection ICE whereby the inlet valves are not subjected to the flow of atomised fuel washing over them on route to the combustion chamber. You will find some real horror pics on you tube of the internals of DI engines, most of these seem to be US based for some reason! Possibly poor quality fuels without additives or European’s don’t stress about it! I’m not sure which but I am not gonna loose any sleep over this particular problem.
  7. +1 on getting this god awful noise on full lock at slow speed, so much so that I now turn left out of my house and never right, as the angle of the road causes this to happen and I’d rather drive around the block an extra 200 yards than hear that!
  8. To be honest you gotta have your head red to even go anywhere near here, knowing his history, plenty of more fish in the sea and all that! He who changes the ad immediately after sale to include the phrase 'sold as spares/parts'!
  9. There are lots of posts ( for some reason!!!) on the US owners site ClubLexus where owners have lets say 'inadvertently' connected up the battery the wrong way round! The reason I think you have done this is because you have the wrong battery for a start! The terminals should be at the back of the engine bay with the + positive on the Left side. If you have the +positive at the front left of the battery then it's not the correct one! As for the damage caused by the reverse connection event then you are not the first and it has happen to someone on this forum with an ISF ( technically almost the same electrical configuration regarding the fix) just trying to find it now....... very informative thread on which battery you perhaps should have got, as it seems 'Advanced Auto' have given you the wrong one! Just found the thread (ISF) that had reverse polarity problem and a fusible link part No is quoted but not sure if it is actually same part for the IS.

  11. You can set up notifications for when new ads get put up, I still got one for an IS250 for some reason! ( when I actually own a peachy one already!) guess still like to keep an eye on things🙄
  12. My 2007 250 ( which doesn't get used as much as I'd like) averages about 35 mpg General but on a recent run ( Bristol to Plymouth ) got a Tank average of 41mpg , Not fantastic but I'd didn't exactly but it for its frugality! But for Everything else it offers!!! You want luxury, comfort & toys then you gotta expect to pay! paul m.
  13. +1 if you put it in PWR mode, you can lose your license as fast as you like!
  14. paypal is no way geared up in favour of the seller only the buyer so steer well clear of any payments for vehicles ( especially if they say it’s going abroad...alarm bells should be ringing!)
  15. 2007 IS250 with HDD infotainment, Really?
  16. £45 for a pos! Probably much worst than the one you are taking off in actual fact!
  17. 'Virtual non runner'... It gets worst! Now that could be expensive if it ain't running sweet. Let alone the cosmetics! waiting in the wings......
  18. Wow, though I was in a BMW forum there for a moment....,
  19. Funny you should mention rodents as I went to view a car the other day for my son and upon opening the bonnet it was a no-goer! The rest of the car was sweet but there was no way I was gonna chance finding any immediate unseen damage that may have been done by Mickey and his friends to for example the wiring loom, hoses or anything else that tastes real good in the mouse world! paul m.
  20. Not getting confused with another car perhaps? My ford shows a mini speedo Icon.
  21. And don’t ever clean them with a high pressure power washer!
  22. “”To reset the windows open them about halfway then close holding the switch in the closed position for about 5 seconds. That's all there is to it” Note: you must do this with the switch on each door in turn as you cannot do it from the drivers switch panel ( indeed the 3 ‘passenger window switches won’t actually work on the drivers panel until you have done this reset procedure) paul m
  23. That previous post was over 8 years ago! I suspect he ain't got the 220D anymore ( got fed up riding in an AA recovery truck I guess) the Lexus Diesel engine variants have a infamous history of being very un-Lexus like in their reliability department! paul m.
  24. But we all know how to spot a SE-L from afar...,only model to have wood ( and it is real wood!) panel inserts in the passenger cabin. paul m
  25. Just read this thread on the US LOC site, https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-2nd-gen-2006-2013/930111-2nd-airbag-recall.html
