  1. Only the SE-L model has the electric rear sun screen ( it's not even fitted to the ISF model ) The SE-L is easily identified by the fact it is ( again) the only model to have wooden panel inserts in the cabin trim ( and it is real wood, highly lacquered and supplied by Yamaha, the Musical instrument maker not the motor bikes!) So unless someone has fitted an electric rear sun screen ( and in my opinion it would be major surgery!) then it has not! paul m.
  2. Just my opinion but how to bog down a perfectly good car with crap. https://youtu.be/sLNnRsiUZCg
  3. Best keep that old machine going cause machines now have the Tubs ultrasonically welded together and therefore no way ( really ) to remove inner drum to change the main bearing. Also the bearings on these newer machines are no where near as big as the 'older' machines bearings so the cynic in me says they are 'designed to fail' paul m.
  4. If you do use wire wool or emery cloth to clean an electrical contact then it is good practice to treat the area afterwards with some dielectric grease to protect the surface as you may have broken through the bright protective coating on the part and exposed the underlying copper, and if exposed to atmospheric conditions this may well corrode and become a future problem. paul m
  5. Determined to get a ISF after the world has settled down to some state of normality and came across this while Toob Surfing! very therapeutic I reckon!
  6. I reckon so as I have never read of anyone having an issue with carbon build up to an extent to cause noticable problems, yes there might be some in there but not enough to cause a problem, maybe the fuel is of a different grade in the UK ( Europe) compared to the US ? I really don't know.
  7. Quite a few over on the US Owners site ClubLexus.com
  8. Agreed the previous owner may have had someone ‘look’ at it but we all know it depends ‘who’ looks at it! And weather they just want you to throw parts at it or really know their stuff! And yes it may take a few quid to get sorted ( I would go for second hand parts in this instance) but if you were gonna be keeping it for a while ( and we know they do age well ) then it really could be a bargain and a lot of car for the money.
  9. Not connected to or advocating this seller in any way but this could be a proper ‘bargain’ if you were to be handy with the spanner’s and have got ‘Techstream’, what d’you reckon? https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/202002117189509?search-target=usedcars&advertising-location=at_cars&maximum-mileage=80000&postcode=bs166lf&body-type=Saloon&saved-search-id=2c929b6a5aff873b015b0f434dd70096&sort=datedesc&searchcontext=savedsearchlink&transmission=Automatic&model=IS 250&page=5&radius=1500&make=LEXUS&onesearchad=Used almost ‘Donor Car’ money but thinking about it why would you want a donor car for one ( if not the most ) reliable cars I have ever had! Dohh!
  10. Nice doin’ it fellas 😎 You won’t here that in a BMW forum! 🙄
  11. Try re-creating situation again ( with a window open or spare at hand of course! ) to see if it happens all the time.
  12. Any update on this after you had it booked in for Lexus Glasgow to get amongst on the 10th?
  13. IIRC the problem was one of the back boxes was not level after it was fitted and viewed from behind.
  14. I do recall someone ( on this forum) having a mare getting this to fit properly! Can’t remember who but suggest you spend some time searching to see exactly what problem they had and done!
  15. After I think you might need to use ‘Techstream’ to bleed all the air from the braking system especially if you have removed the ABS unit like you intend.
  16. So it looks like you have lost ( altered more so ) your LPS ( Lexus Personalised Settings) after the battery disconnect. The function you talk of is indeed an option in LPS ( item no 19 )
  17. +1 on ensuring the battery is 100% as if not then it can be the root cause ( for god knows why!) all sorts of seemingly unconnected weird and wonderful electrical problems, so as a virtual no cost first step I would fully charge the battery and do a soft reset ( taking the battery off to charge it will achieve this anyway) and take it from there. Just had a thought and as you said it occurred in the snow and it's showing TRC lights and ABS it may have been triggered by the wheels turning out of sync ( wheels spinning in snow!) and upsetting the sensors for ABS/TRC, like I said, just a thought, so I would Deffo reset and take it from there, if there is a 'actual' physical fault in the car then it will soon pop up again.
  18. That looks like the actual shelf from inside the glove box, the one that is removable do as to get access to the pollen cabin filter in the back of the glovebox.
  19. What about it?, provided you don't have different size wheels on the same 'axle' then the abs system will be happy.
  20. Nice to know but Probably won't have anything that you could not find out 'in here'. Knowing what I do about Lexus/ISF it's gonna be a short article!
  21. Talking of auto/manual gearbox If you are in the market for a 250 then check out the Road Fund Licence ( tax ) for each ! Bearing in mind they both have same engine!
  22. The battery in the remote key fob is on the Lexus service schedule to be changed annually ( but unless you take any additional keys you have then it will only be the one in the car on the day that gets changed. And yes the key is transmitting continually ( but not constantly) and the car is trying to detect it continually! ( but after about 10-14 days with no success then the car will 'give up' and if you approach after this time then you will have to press a fob button to 'wake up' the car.
  23. Gotta agree with above, looks like all/any of those parts were Not responsible for your symptoms and it does indeed sound to be the very common head gasket failure ( coolant system getting pressurised from combustion cylinders)
  24. Interior boot light going out when boot closed is it?
