  1. I recall a poster on that forum called Jeff Lang ( I think ) was very knowledgable on Lexus parts ( think he worked in a dealership somewhere) might be good to PM him?
  2. I would at the 10 Year or 100,000 mile mark just so I could sleep at night knowing this emerging problem was ‘fixed’ Doesn’t bear thinking about if this problem happened in the near future ( there were no precursors before catastrophe failure) especially as you are now aware of its potential. You may not have the ‘Miles’ to warrant it but at 11+ years old the components that fail are gonna be aged.
  3. I thought I remembered you needed bigger wheels, just in case someone is interested and got 17”!
  4. Will these fit with standard 17” wheels or do you have to go up to 18”?
  5. It also won’t use ‘Top’ gear until it’s sufficiently warm also. By not using top gear this keeps the revs higher In an attempt to heat up the Fluids.
  6. $799 is £595 today but dunno how much the VAT man will spank you for?
  7. So...to assist all/any other ISF owners who may be thinking of replacing their main rad as a preventative measure ( I think I would at the 10 year/100k point) what was the price of the ( coolant to ATF ) rad That was in the now (wisely) removed invoice?
  8. well done that man...just a little bit green (envious) over here right now.👍
  9. Looks like you made the News! ( if it was your ISF?, can’t imagine many silver ones out and about in Scotland otherwise)
  10. Last 2 MOT's advise 'Exhaust has minor leak of Exhaust gases' So this could be a haggling point as IS Exhaust 's are not cheap and it may throw an VSC (EML) if the Lambda sensors get to know about it!!!! Bit too 'Ricey' for me!!
  11. If you plan on putting anything other than Toyota WS AFT in your Lexus Auto gearbox then please read this ( from the horses mouth, so to speak) https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-2nd-gen-2006-2013/946184-bad-experience-with-maxlife-full-synthetic-atf.html Bizarrely though people are still toying with the idea of not using the WS fluid for some strange reason!!! IMPORTANT Note: prob not a good idea to post All your personal & Vehicle Details on an open forum!
  12. So did you get any warning lights when drive was failing or did it just come to a stop with nothing? Hopefully it's 'just' a hydraulic line from the box to the cooler ( that sits inside the engine radiator!) and a 'simple' fix ( for simple read inexpensive!). Fingers crossed for you as it don't look like the dreaded coolant in ATF fluid ( hopefully) paul m.
  13. I reckon you gotta buy this off the old guy as he kept his side of the bargain! 😂 just means you'll have two! What's not to like and you can share the miles between them to keep it low!!😄😄
  14. Just found this now! For £18.99 inc Del https://www.yam6carparts.co.uk/genuine-toyota-lexus-water-tank-cap-16475-51010-1647551010-639-p.asp
  15. Genuine on ‘eBay’ (at the moment) for £19.99 or Offers!
  16. Have you actually checked out the price of a genuine One?
  17. I think W3W is brilliant for my purposes, I fill Steam Locomotives with fresh water from a 8 Wheeled 34 ton Tanker and some of the places Steam Trains stop at ( Signals) are miles from any domestic or commercial letterbox so postcodes are useless! For Example standard.bristle.flaunting After going through the Gate at hurls.slanting.professes and reversing for 1/2 mile!
  18. But its true that the problem is an Apple thing as the iPhone won't TX the address book via Bluetooth. I along along with others have tried and give up and the only way ( if you got an iPhone ) is to input each contact manually! 😩 Searching this forum you will find that it has been discussed numerous times before
  19. So did you ( OP ) only need/want the OS doing due to UV damage and NS was OK?
  20. Best of luck ( not that you'll needs it's!) with your new wheels, just as a point I do not use the foot handbrake when my car is parked on level ground, just the P option, shoot me down and explain the disastrous consequences that I may encounter.
  21. Well, there you have it, a mixed bag of do & don’t get the Diesel! what ever you go for please keep posting your experiences ( hopefully not All in the ‘Engine & Transmission’ section! ) 🤞!
