I have got a ‘18 year genuine Lexus DVD SatNav disc in my 250 and still get the ‘I AGREE’ nag screen! IIRC this was the last time ( 2017-2018) maps were produced on disc. Available on eBay for less than £20

Note on removing charging leads from battery- Turn Off Charger at Mains First!

Black clamp Can go on - ( Negative) battery terminal BUT Do Not turn On the cars Ignition while the charger is connected and switched On as you may damage the cars electronic components as the voltage output from the battery charger may go too high (spike).

I here what you are saying about not doing it yourself at home but this procedure is one of the first that most DIYer’s tackle ( after an oil change!) and it is ‘Bread & Butter’ stuff for any establishment calling themselves a ‘Garage’ you should try and find a garage by recommendation and see if they will fix parts supplied by you, some will ( to get work) and some won’t ( to make a bit on parts). Using a garage that is certified to carry out MOT’s might be better than one that doesn’t as they can be inspected at any time, but that is not to say a garage that doesn’t ( do MOT’s) is not going to do a good job!

If the ( current) owner has only had it a very short time or not in their name even then dig deeper! Surprising that you have not seen it around then if it’s local! As for travelling, then to get a ‘good un’ it is worth it, so if it don’t all add up right then no matter how close it is then move along.

All looks ok, MOT history is sweet, only a couple of thousand miles per yer ( just to keep it loose!) and no major advisories. Best of luck with the test drive and I hope it ‘feels’ good enough to buy! As for equipment, then unless you have come from a ‘tooled’ up motor with all the toys then the ( few) items that may be lacking in this compared to the SE-L you won’t miss. Appears to be reasonable price as well.

Used my IS 250 for the first time in 16 days today and noticed this area of ‘cloudiness’ on the sat nav screen after doing a 55 mile run! When I got back home ( after another 55 miles !) the area was a lot smaller. I reckon it is some kind of trapped moisture or humidity that occurred after having the cabin heater on and then when the complete interior of the car got up to a warmer temp the moisture/humidity was reduced, that’s my theory anyway, anyone got a better explanation?

Re the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control ( sometimes known as ACC Adaptive Cruise Control), If equipped then there will be an additional button on the right hand side of the steering wheel mounted controls and the front grill L emblem will be encased in acrylic. See pics

That 250 SE-L ( the 40k mile one) looks sweet, it has everything on it apart from ACC! The 17k miles ( £8k !!! ) one has Not got the Infotainment system which had been cleverly missed in all the pics! re the 40,000 miler, The grey leather interior would be my only drawback as although it looks good when clean it can show the dirt real quick! It is at the top end of the price scale but like I said it got ( almost) everything you want and should last you a good long while without expensive repairs, just keep a check on lubing the brake callipers regularly ( 6-12 months) as this is not on the Lexus service schedule. Note: if you regularly need to drive with four adults in the car then be aware that rear legroom is not massive on the 250 compared to other Lexi ( is that a word!) best of luck and hope you enjoy a 250😃 Note: there has been some discussion on this site about South West Lexus as a Dealer so please do a search and read up!

True about the Bosch, the art is finding it for a low price!

Note: you say coolant was ‘checked’ and passed, was the brake fluid tested in any way as this is recommended to be changed every 2 years? As this is one thing that does deteriorate over time and not miles!
