  1. One plus with the VLine is the option to add ‘Skins’ or front end pages and make the screen icons very modern as the Grom ones are very Blocky’ and basic.
  2. Mine is not garaged ☹️ And is in full sun ( what little we get in Bristol) all the time and has been for last 4 years and is not showing any signs of deteriorating.
  3. I honestly don’t think ( someone might correct me! ) that the climate we have in the UK would cause the infamous sticky dash problem that is a major problem overseas ie in California, there is lots of examples on the ‘ClubLexus’ owners website.
  4. Do not trust sellers information and double check the terminals of any battery you buy or attempt to fit as it will be very very expensive if you reverse polarity, even for a split second, when connecting it.
  5. I got the VLine 2 to bring my infotainment system bang upto date without having to change headunit. The VLine lives in the glovebox and I gotta say it is not 100% reliable at times but has everything you could want and is future proof. Yes £500 is a lot but like I said options (apps ) are almost unlimited, YouTube, IPlayer, Netflix, etc. And the dash stays stock. have you seen these threads? Lots of pics. VLine 2 https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/116763-vline-vl2-install/ VLine Lite https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/120439-grom-vline-lite-installation/
  6. With the access panel at the back of the glovebox removed then if you toggle re-circ button on & off then filter door/flap should move if all is ok.
  7. The servo arm that moves the door/flap gets broken I think if you try and open it manually and not available as a spare part and whole unit has to come out ( Somehow?) very expensive and needless repair if instructions on filter replacement are followed exactly!
  8. Sounds like a right nightmare! Doesn’t make me wanna emigrate that’s for sure!
  9. I have posted vids like this in the past but as new members join they may not have seen them, so here’s another that’s definitely worth 5 minutes of your time!
  10. Need to depress the plastic tab exactly where the numbers are shown on it!
  11. Typical major head gasket failure sign whereby the isolation between oil passage system and cooling system is lost and oil and water ( coolant ) get combined in an ugly emulsion of brown goo. If there is any pressure behind this goo then the combustion system is playing a part it the demise also!
  12. You might find the sound changes slightly over time, as the now smooth inside surface gets covered in combustion deposits, but it won’t ever be as ‘quiet’ as the mild steel ( thicker walled ) exhaust, personally not looking forward to choosing an exhaust when I need one!
  13. Sounds very ‘Un-Lexus’ 250ish, Not for me thanks and in UK would not pass MOT ( original designed system components missing, also fail on bumper reflectors missing!) but hey in Bulgaria must be OK?
  14. The ‘fix’ is to unblock ( of better still remove)the rubber gromit that the AC condensate water flows out of under the car, not easy at all. good result there that man 👍🏻
  15. Harsh!!! ( I didn’t have the heart to put it as bluntly as that ) but sadly probably true....
  16. As a first point, check that the cabin air filter is all good in the rear of the glovebox, Note: Make sure ‘Re-Circ’ is on before attempting to open access door to filter or it may get damaged, £££££’s
  17. I see in your profile it’s a DERV, afraid to say diesels are Not my forte and I would suspect head gasket issues ( v common problem on this engine manifesting in numerous ways) Could be very minute leakage of combustion gases into coolant system showing up as these ‘bubbles’ and an ‘air lock’ as occurred in heater matrix to cause loss of heat output. Like I said not my area and I’m sure someone With a derv might enlighten us soon!
  18. Have you used this set up successfully in the past, in particular the ‘ two CTEK extension cables’ connected together? As I’m thinking there might be some voltage drop issues, I’ve looked on the CTEK website but it does not say you should only use one extension though! Also this very cold weather at the moment is Not helpful for charging vehicle batteries or their very existence! Like me they do not like or perform well in cold conditions!
  19. My Original 250 battery (Panasonic) looked like this. was dated 14/07/07 and lasted until Jan 2018!
  20. “About 50 miles worth” That prob equates to just over a gallon sloshing around in bottom of tank, Note the fuel pump ( electric powered) is IN the fuel tank and submerged in the actual fuel, it is this fuel that keeps it cool so if you use your car constantly on low/very low fuel levels then the pump is not effectively going to get cooled and may actually fail due to the fact that fuel was constantly low! I see people all the time at fuel pumps just putting £10 of fuel in and wonder how Their fuel pump is holding up?
  21. 2007, 43k on my 250 and oil changed every 5k religiously in all (5) of our cars, would like to ‘see’ inside but got absolutely no intention of ‘going in!’ 😀
  22. So based on that theory then I guess I should be in the ‘Fit one’ group! My 250 ( 2007) has just clocked 45k and I intend keeping it until it fails the MOT catastrophically on rust somewhere! ( hopefully a good long while yet)
  23. By the by... I went to look at buying a 335i for my son last year and when the bonnet was opened (shown below ) I had to walk away right there and then, after seeing the obvious presence of a rodent! I had to explained to the seller (and my son!) that there could be a whole lot of wiring loom damage that would be a nightmare to trace let alone fix! You can see that the little fellow used the bonnet sound deadening material as a quilt and made a lovely little nest right there in front of us! The underlying problem was the car sales lot was right next to a fried chicken/kebab shop and there was discarded food everywhere!
