  1. Does it only rattle real bad on a cold start up and last for a couple of seconds?
  2. So you cleaned the body off the car? 👍 So if it was not connected or energised when you moved valve then what I pointed out above should not apply.
  3. And don’t ever be tempted to try and move the flap/valve within the body as it is controlled by a stepper-motor and will/can go out of calibration if forcibly moved.
  4. If you do go for the Genuine Lexus ones be aware that I posted the link for just one and as they are Handed ie left and right they will have different part numbers, but if you get aftermarket poly bushes I guess you get given a ‘set’.
  5. +1 on the Lower control arm bush having some bearing on inner tyre tread wear, I have been doing some searching ( for bush problem in another thread) and it seems that the OEM bushes are quite compliant for a smooth ride ( after all it is a Lexus) but maybe at the cost of abnormal tyre wear when the bushes are past their best.
  6. Here’s a bush being changed on an ISF and I wouldn’t think the 250 is much/any different, looks like a bread and butter job for any garage, even Quick-Rip, but that should be a last resort! This is showing an ‘upgraded’ part being fitted but if you got the OEM parts then same operation.
  7. If you go to Quick-Rip you’ll need a new exhaust, brake pads & an Air Con re-charge I bet!
  8. Firstly congrats on getting what I reckon is the best car I have ever had in my life and enjoy!👍 If indeed they are unserviceable and if the description is correct then they are about £68 ( Genuine Lexus Part!) each to buy!And should be an uncomplicated job for your/any decent garage. https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/parts/lexus-is/lexus-is-phase-ii-2006-2013/lexus-is-2-steering-suspension/lexus-is-phase-2-o-s-front-lower-arm-rear-bush/
  9. He ( is200 Newbie) stated it was his car for sell on page one of this thread!
  10. Happy days then 😀 And thanks for the update just in case anyone else should have same problem in the future as this will be on-line for ever!
  11. Any update on your error code problem?
  12. I don’t reckon you’re gonna need it but 🤞for you.
  13. As a contrast I am not one to worry about ‘insuring’ things, Certainly not one of the most reliable cars ever made! Some people tend to want to insure ‘everything’...phones, washing machines, fridges ( one of the most reliable appliances out their!) and TV’s but not me. Get a well maintained 250 and look after it well ( maintenance wise I mean ) and it will serve you for a good long while and be very cost effective in the long run. Note: I know you are looking at later cars but if you do go ‘older’ for some reason check out this thread.
  14. You won’t go far wrong with a well looked after 250, and if you drive like miss Daisy ( hard I know ) you can get numbers like this,
  15. Listening to that audio again it prob was some piece of trim/bodywork that was resonating when upto a certain speed!
  16. For those ( like me ) who like to fix things and keep them working for a bit longer you may be pleased to know it should be possible, gone should be the days of ditching a functioning washing machine because of a £5 bearing that you cannot remove because the tub has been ultra-sonically welded for ease of production! And if you could get said bearing out it is 30% smaller than bearings of machines of 10-20 years ago so I suspect has got a much smaller MTBF! I wonder why? https://apple.news/AQ0jkDJRdQKqyCswC5mhgEQ
  17. Another negative for the DERV is that they only came with manual gearboxes, which for me is not very Lexus like, I like to drive smoothly and comfortably without the need to ‘stir’ a gearbox along the way and besides 6th gear is unusable in the uk (legally!)
  18. Washer pump is located on N/S ( Passenger) so how come you had water falling on the O/S ( drivers)?
  19. Please Do Not get a DERV Lexus, prob the worst badge Lexus ever put on a car (d) Look for a nice 250 and you won’t ever look back! Check the ‘Engine & Transmission’ section of this forum before choosing a Diesel Lexus as you will see that it is littered with the mechanical problems of diesels! Mpg of the diesels will not be a million miles off of a 250 but the maintenance costs when ( not if ) problems arise will wipe out any mpg savings you may have accrued. once again please spend some time reading around this forum as I would not have one if you Gave it to me, harsh but true. mpg of my 250 last week!
  20. 👍good-Ho that man😃 Standing by for the front now
  21. That definitely looks like something must be hindering the precision Japanese parts from going together like they should!
  22. See those two little prongs on the inside of the fuel filler Flap? Those are for holding the tank cap while you fill up and will stop your paint work getting scratched!
  23. Just as a pointer, if you are going to disconnect battery for any reason it is best practice to remove the - ( Negative ) connection First ( and unless you are removing battery, Only the Negative ) Reason being, ( unless you have insulated tools - I haven’t!) you may touch a grounded part of the car when trying to remove the + ( positive) and have a free firework display besides any personal injuries!
