  1. +1 on getting amongst the old amp and checking it out, could be something as simple as a blown capacitor ( easy/cheap fix) but I would definitely be inquisitive enough to get inside if the replacement one cures it!
  2. It is the battery temperature sensor for the battery charging system and is normally clipped to the side of the black plastic battery enclosure. If you no longer have the battery case then try and place the sensor ( somehow?) as close to the battery as possible and not allow it to be near anything hot/warm as it may give the battery charging system false readings and over/under charge the battery.
  3. .....so you’ll have to initialise the windows/sunroof now then! Or other windows won’t operate from drivers door switch panel.
  4. Lots of threads (failures !) of this amp on the US owners site, ClubLexus as there are a lot more IS 250/350/ISF’s over ‘there’ .
  5. Gotta ask yourself if the seller can’t sort that out, what else might be lacking!
  6. I have an 07 250 and have fitted a VL-2 unit which ( using android) brings the infotainment system bang upto date, you can install google maps, Waze,TomTom, whatever you wanna use, it is let down though by the limitations of the screen technology ie. no ‘Pinch’ option etc and the definition. Although a plus is the fact that the dash still looks completely factory.
  7. +1 on above procedure, need to do this for each window before drivers panel will operate other windows remotely ( also Moonroof will need resetting if battery has been disconnected or voltage has dropped below a critical level)
  8. So after locating this module what exactly are you gonna do to it as regards to the aftermarket VL2 unit?
  9. If I remember correctly then you can pass a suitable size cable/Zip tie through the slot between the two flat smooth areas and yank the clip out!
  10. The last model in any range should always be the best of the lot! Wheather it be cars, TV’s, computers etc as all the developments in that item have reach its peak.
  11. I know it’s prob not what you wanna here but I would put nothing less than a Denso on. Not cheap but if you have to revisit the problem then it very well may work out cheaper. have you read this thread, and the problem James250 had with a replacement Alternator until he fitted genuine Denso?
  12. I don’t think the nut is missing, if you zoom in on his pic you can see the hex on it, and the Flats on the tie rod, Question though, what does the other side look like compared to this?
  13. I just added installation instructions for a IS250 if that helps anyone, ISF shouldn’t be majorly different!
  14. It does leak out slowly in time so without knowing when it was last re-gassed then it might have a leak that warrants investigating or it might just need it periodic top-up. If it has got full LSH then you can check if it has been gassed in the past on ‘Lexus Link’
  15. Think you need to actually take a 250 out for a drive ( if you can at the moment) as I would say it IS a comfortable car as opposed to something like my son’s 335 BMW which feels like you are in a go-kart! Very solid and not to my liking ( with all standard running gear)
  16. Here’s what the little blighter looks like when doing it’s stuff!
  17. Does it only rattle real bad on a cold start up and last for a couple of seconds?
  18. So you cleaned the body off the car? 👍 So if it was not connected or energised when you moved valve then what I pointed out above should not apply.
  19. And don’t ever be tempted to try and move the flap/valve within the body as it is controlled by a stepper-motor and will/can go out of calibration if forcibly moved.
  20. If you do go for the Genuine Lexus ones be aware that I posted the link for just one and as they are Handed ie left and right they will have different part numbers, but if you get aftermarket poly bushes I guess you get given a ‘set’.
  21. +1 on the Lower control arm bush having some bearing on inner tyre tread wear, I have been doing some searching ( for bush problem in another thread) and it seems that the OEM bushes are quite compliant for a smooth ride ( after all it is a Lexus) but maybe at the cost of abnormal tyre wear when the bushes are past their best.
  22. Here’s a bush being changed on an ISF and I wouldn’t think the 250 is much/any different, looks like a bread and butter job for any garage, even Quick-Rip, but that should be a last resort! This is showing an ‘upgraded’ part being fitted but if you got the OEM parts then same operation.
  23. If you go to Quick-Rip you’ll need a new exhaust, brake pads & an Air Con re-charge I bet!
