  1. It most prob will as it is also the same on my 20 year old Mondeo!, the window mechanism control system needs to ‘know’ when the window has fully closed, it does this by detecting the increase in current going to the motor when you forcibly ‘keep closing it’ and ‘overload’ the motor. This is so it ( the control system electronics) can detect if for instance a person ( or part of!) gets trapped in the window opening, it can then stop and indeed retract slightly!
  2. The Moon(Sun) Roof will also need re-learning if you have one fitted, not that you will be using it any time soon! But come April time you may think it is broken!
  3. If you don’t like/want it….take the 32 Large!😂
  4. I am aware that this link will die quite soon ( and I am not advocating this site in any shape or form) but they do have a 2015 Carbon RCF “available” and someone Will get it! https://www.revcomps.com/product/2015-lexus-rc-f-5-0l-v8-carbon-coupe-or-32000/ ( mods, feel free to delete this post if you feel it fouls any rules 👍)
  5. Who would take a (nice) car with missing wheel nut(s) and a smashed fog light to an MOT? 🙄
  6. That’s because that link is for 3rd Gen IS 2014 onwards!
  7. Gremlins… my VCS (Christmas tree lights etc) came on yesterday midway through a 125 mile journey from Heathrow to Bristol!!! Bugger I thought, car drove perfectly still, pulled in to Reading Service area, engine off, wait 2 mins, engine on then all fine all the way home!!!! Might interrogate it with Techstream if I can be arsed but if it drives seemingly all ok then I guess it is (almost!) all ok.🤞
  8. Top tip, when using these ‘split’ type sockets to undo ‘F tight’ sensors in aged exhaust systems put a suitable size Jubilee clip around the socket to stop it even thinking of splaying and not staying in total contact with the sensors Hex contact points.
  9. I personally have got the 2017-18 DVD (E1G) version in my 2007 IS but it is the 2005 (approx) Designed Operating System that lets its down with its low resolution graphics and limited touch screen options. Even though I have installed the Grom VL2, it is not without its glitches and at £500+ Not cheap and sometimes I still use my TomTom Professional 6000 going to new work destinations.
  10. 2017-18 was the last map edition produced for the DVD based system, here is an example ( not being sold by me or anyone I know!) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324917822241?hash=item4ba69c8321:g:PA4AAOSwqDdhqNzx
  11. Prob better to worry about brake calliper pins getting seized up 😀
  12. The double nickel speed limit (55)was implemented during the 70’s fuel crisis era to save fuel obviously and it seems to be assumed never to have changed.
  13. Don’t want to say it but battery is connected properly isn’t it, some retailers have been known to supply a battery for the IS with the terminals reversed! And if you are not 100% on the ball it is quite easy to cook your fusible link and end up with an electrically ‘dead’ car.
  14. Never mind… but PCS is Pre Collision System & VGRS is Variable Gear Ratio Steering, either/both could cost ££££’s to sort! Which is maybe why they haven’t been addressed! The PCS fault light is prob a MOT fail?
  15. You could ( very gently and at your own risk blah blah blah) heat ( more so warm) the Perspex plate and give it a slight curve before allowing it to cool and form into a arc,
  16. So let’s say a 500 Nm strut would work as required, would that mean if you used 2 X 250 Nm struts ( one each side) it would work, or am I way off and should include the other strut ( whatever it is rated at) that is working with the new 450 in my calculations!
  17. Tyres are one of the most common failure points on MOT tests, but also one of the easiest to sort out! A good inspection could eliminate this beforehand.
  18. IIRC US spec cars never had the mirror fold option, prob not a concern when parking unlike Europe/Uk 🙄
  19. for the extra couple of pennies I would deffo choose this over the Lion batteries! https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/361478504522?epid=248788976&hash=item5429cc404a:g:354AAOSwf2RhinLc
  20. On the IS250 ( amongst other model) there was, a while ago, an aftermarket unit, made and sold by an Australian guy. It was called a PO40 module and fits inside the drivers door to achieve this fold on locking situation, I purchased one second hand from a member who never got round to fitting it their car. It is a good visual indicator from a far that you have indeed locked the car!
  21. This guy ( he’s got lots of other vids with him tinkering with his 250) is also waiting for his to arrive!
  22. Hopefully not a 1 post Wonder, if he is a 250 owner…
  23. I think he is trying to say… “No need to wax anymore. Get yourself a Snow Foam Gun and buy some Autoglym Polarseal. Wash the car as usual but before it dries throw some Polarseal over it and a Monthly wash thereafter will keep it protected.” grammar makes a world of difference.
