  1. The initial message I got - by text - was: Lexus wish to check your vehicles Hybrid system
  2. Just been advised by Lexus Chester that I need to bring my vehicle in to have the hybrid system checked. Apparently it is a Lexus recall as vehicle is in-between services. Anybody else has this?
  3. Thanks Joe I really appreciate your help with this. Unfortunately my car does not have a door beneath the radio, so must be a different model:(
  4. Thanks Joe, that is very helpful. Only one more question, where is the micro sd card located?
  5. Would also be interested in the answer to Matt8's question as have never been happy with the lights on my IS
  6. Hi Joe, I have a 2016 IS300H Advance and am thinking about updating the sat nav. As you have done this, can you provide a step by step idiots guide as to how to do this? I am not thick, just struggle with all things to do with updating computer systems. Thanks.
  7. Never really been happy with the headlights on my IS 300H Advance. The light is nowhere near as good as on my previous car, a SAAB 9-3 Ttid Aero.
  8. What format should the music be in to play via a usb stick?
  9. I wonder how Lexus breakdown would have dealt with this?
  10. Another benefit of AC always on is that any misting of the windows clears a lot quicker
  11. I never switch the AC off and have not experienced any problems
  12. Thanks to everyone for their helpful suggestions. If I cannot find the lost fob then I have decided to get a replacement through Lexus. This will cost around £330 (inc VAT) and my local dealer will programme the key at no extra cost. While I am capable of navigating a ship around the world with just a sextant, chronometer, charts and nautical tables, I find any computer programming beyond my simple skills.
  13. Thanks for the link Matt. Having read through, I think this is far too complicated for me but thanks.
  14. Thanks Alex. I have had a quick look at Techstream but there appears to be a lot of parts available. What would I need to code a new key? Is it straightforward to code a key?
  15. Thanks for the responses. Not being an engineer (electrical, mechanical or IT) and not having tech stream (which I probably could not use anyway) I guess the only solution is to get a replacement through Lexus. Anybody got any idea about the cost? Thanks
  16. I have lost one of my key fobs and will need to replace it. I have a feeling this will be very expensive, but any advice would be helpful
  17. I have only used it for one bike, and no problems experienced. However, i found that the nearest position for the bike (closest to the boot) meant that the pedal of the bike was very close to the bodywork so I use the position furthest away from the boot. Also, whilst the straps provided for securing the bike are very good, I use additional chord to secure the bike so that it will not move in any direction. Hope this helps
  18. At the moment I do not have a lighting board and accept that I should have one. At the moment I am keeping off the main roads as I live in a rural area.
  19. Will try and post some pictures tomorrow Gareth, Steve, if they fir the IS300 they should also fit the IS250. I purchased mine from Halfords, but before I paid I asked to see it fitted on my car. This the Alesman did without any problem
  20. To answer my own question, and for future reference, I have recently bought a Saris Bones 2 Rack. This does the job, is simple to install, does not cause damage to the paintwork and carries my bike safely.
  21. fine for sedate and normal traffic?? Sedate driving is more likely to be responsible driving. The IS300H is not a boy racer. It is a grown ups car with more than adequate "performance" for todays motoring conditions. If you want a car that is a performance car go for something different. Probably also best to go on a race track so that you can enjoy the experience without accumulating penalty points.
  22. Car is well built, reliable, looks good and very easy to drive. CVT gearbox is not an issue. I have the 2016 Advance model, love the style and comfort and reliability. Normal driving is very relaxed. For something more sporty, use the S mode. This gives the benefit of the 2.5ltr engine plus the hybrid and is certainly no slouch. Perhaps you should test drive one to see what you think
  23. Anyone fitted a cycle to their IS300H? Not looking for a roof mount, just something simple to fit on the boot lid for short journeys.
  24. The beep beep is to warn you of speed cameras in the vicinity
