  1. Thanks Colin, that's brilliant. I really appreciate your help:)
  2. Thanks Colin, where is the charging point in the engine bay?
  3. Thanks for all the advice, which I will take onboard. I had thought that it was not a good idea to use a hybrid as the donor, thus I will not be doing so. Guess the best thing is to purchase a jump starter pack but still not too sure about how to connect it.
  4. How do you jump start another car? Looking under the bonnet it all looks very complicated and I cannot see a clear positive and negative battery terminal.
  5. I would use Timpsons to do it for me. Might cost more, but they know what they are doing, I don't.
  6. Thanks for the information Matt, but probably too complicated for me, sorry.
  7. ok, I am interested. Can you provide an idiots guide as to how to fit them? Diagrams would be helpful. What would you consider to be a fair price as I have no idea about these things, just a matter of what I can afford.
  8. would it be possible for a mechanically incompetent idiot to fit these?
  9. I have to say in defence of Halfords that I have never had any issues with quality or reliability of work. They have maintained and serviced my wife car for five years with no problems at all.
  10. Got mine hard wired by Halfords at the time I bought the cam
  11. Why not sell to webuyanycar.com and then go to Lexus as a cash buyer?
  12. Thanks royoftherovers that is very helpful
  13. Thanks Mark. That is useful to know as my vehicle will be 5 years old next year.
  14. On this topic, how much do Lexus charge to update a satnav?
  15. I always thought the essential service did not cover as many checks - not so comprehensive? Anybody any thoughts?
  16. Was that the Lexus dealership that has withdrawn the warranty?
  17. Oh dear. It seems we have to be careful of the type of question that we ask. And I thought this was a friendly forum 😞
  18. I lost one recently and obtained a spare through Lexus Liverpool. Cost of the fob was £327 but they waived the programming fee of around £120.
  19. Test drive an IS300H. Try in normal mode, then switch to sports mode. You may well be surprised 🙂
  20. Thanks Mark, that is so helpful. I do not have a panel removal tool, but as I am self isolating at the moment this will give me something to do:)
  21. Anyone know how to open up the back of the sun visor? Stupid me, I put a small laminated parking pass in the mirror of the visor on the drivers side for ease of access, then closed the sliding cover! The pass then disappeared into the visor:( Not life threatening, but would be good to retrieve it. Thanks
  22. Quite worrying if thieves are checking posts on this site to select their next victim. I keep mine garaged overnight behind an electric door, but guess nothing is safe in todays world and unlikely that the police will do much, other than to issue a crime number and circulate your number plate.
  23. Update. I phoned the 0800 044 452 number on the Recall Checker and - interestingly - neither my registration number nor VIN number showed up the Toyota system. When I inputed my reg no on my home pc, my vehicle was recognised and advised that my vehicle was subject to a voluntary customer service campaign or outstanding safety recall. Advice from Toyota was to contact my Lexus dealer and check with them. I then spoke to Lexus in Liverpool, with whom I have an extended warranty and service contract, and - after checking - they have advised me that this is not a safety issue but something that can be done during my next scheduled service and involves downloading data from the ecu. This ties in with Pauls comment earlier (post 12)
  24. Annual health check was done in August last year, so not due another one until August of this year. Vehicle has covered 17000 miles from new and been regularly serviced by Lexus.
