  1. Always received good service from both Lexus Chester and Lexus Liverpool
  2. I came to Lexus because SAAB had ceased to make cars. Loved my 9-3 Aero Ttid and Lexus IS was the nearest comparable saloon car that I could find. After 7 years I have no complaints about the IS. It is reliable, comfortable, well appointed and not a run of the mill German car. I agree with Phil that I will keep running the IS until it no longer becomes viable and hope that, by then, another saloon equivalent is available. Not a fan of SUV's.
  3. I always use "normal" mode with AC "on" all the time and achieve between 48 and 55 mpg depending upon season, on mainly A roads and dual carriageways.
  4. I guess that would be down to insurance? Yes, racks which project beyond the boot will always be at risk if you get rear ended.
  5. The rack is designed for two bikes, but I found that when positioned nearest to the car the pedals tended to rub on the bumper - hence only use it for one bike and positioned furthest away from the bumper. Its ok for short journeys but would not want to use it for longer journeys. So far, no issues with marking the boot lid or paintwork
  6. On this topic of carrying bikes, is there a towing bar that can be fitted with a bike rack attached? At present I have a rack which I strap on top of the boot but looking for something more secure.
  7. Bob. The information I received from satnavshop was that it would take up to 90 minutes to fully download using an sd card and to keep the engine running whilst download is in progress. Can you offer any advice? regards
  8. Recall was done yesterday by Lexus in Liverpool, along with the annual service. They also put £20 of fuel in the car as a goodwill gesture:)
  9. Thanks for the comments. Out of interest, the cheapest quote including roadside assistance, uk recovery, home start and misfuel came to £60 from National Breakdown. Similar from AA was £110. Adrian Flux came in at £99. Lexus cover, including Europe is £155. I have some thinking to do.
  10. I understand that Lexus are no longer offering the extended warranty for my vehicle (2016 IS300H Advance) that also included breakdown recovery. Having had a look at what is on offer, does anyone have any thoughts on who is the best provider? Thanks
  11. The condition of the car and its service history are essential. As for the car I have always been very pleased with mine and have had no warranty or other issues. It is a comfortable well appointed car.
  12. Apparently Lexus will reveal a new model on June 5th. It will be called the LBX. Anybody know any more?
  13. I would also purchase the new model IS if it was available in the UK.
  14. I had a non OEM windscreen replaced by Autoglass and have not had any problems.
  15. Was the engine hot at the time?
  16. Got my letter today and will arrange to have this done when I am next in Liverpool
  17. I communicate direct to Lexus Liverpool on all matters concerning my vehicle. They are very happy for me to do this and it provides continuity care.
  18. Just a comment really about how accurate/scientific tyre wear measurement is. At my last service my Lexus dealer advised that my tyres were getting to the point where they would need to be replaced. Not urgent, but advisory. They assessed the tyre wear as 4mm on the NSF tyres but 2mm on the OS rear with bald areas on the inner edge. As the tyres are from new I have recently had all four replaced with Continental Premium Contact 6. The tyre fitter, National tyres, noted on their report that all tyres were down to 4mm, thus still fully legal. I will never take chances with tyres so I am happy that I now have four new tyres, but my point is how accurate/scientific is tyre wear measured.
  19. Both Liverpool and Chester have been very good John. Whilst I purchased the vehicle from Chester and had it serviced there for the first three years, as my Wife is from Liverpool it was decided that if the car were serviced in Liverpool, then she could have a day in Liverpool shopping. Oh joy🤐
  20. Hi John. Yes before I took out my last three year service plan with Lexus Liverpool I asked them to confirm in writing that they would collect and return the vehicle should I be unable to travel there. They were happy to do this. I have always found that speaking to the dealership is to the benefit of all concerned.
  21. I hate arranging services with the online booking system. I always contact Lexus Liverpool direct and arrange things through them. Means that I actually talk to someone who is familiar with my car and its history.
  22. Phil, i'm interested in the phone holder that slots into the cd opening. Any more information on it?
  23. Hi Tony I have it in writing from Lexus service manager at Liverpool as follows: I can confirm that the cost of the three year service plan would total £1,045. This can be broken down as a direct debit payment of £32.85 in August, then 31 payments of £32.65 until March 2025. Pleae let me know as soon as you can if you would like to service plan to be applied as our prices will increase on the 1st August I believe. I can confirm that we will waive the MOT fee for your Lexus MOT's with no charge for either a collection and delivery service, or a loan car if needed. regards
