  1. Thanks! Excellent tutorial. Something I hoped to do on my own in the near future.
  2. I guess the picture is not representative of the actual product as the IS3 needs just the two front blades. But good to know as I'm getting streaks with my brand new Denso ones!
  3. Rest in Peace, John! We'll miss his straight talking and witty commentary!
  4. Strange. Surely it'd make more sense to get £30 of any fuel, and depending on the price of what you choose, you get a differing number of litres.
  5. No free fuel from Solihull
  6. Took my dealership about 20 mins, from driving into the workshop, to driving out. Dashcam evidence. I think they just like to sit on the car for the day.
  7. It looks the same to me. Let us know how you get on!
  8. Getting a similar error myself as of yesterday morning. Scanned with a generic OBD and getting code C1AE3. Center, Front Right parking sensor. I believe that's the right sensor on the grill, on my right when sat in the seat of the car (rather than looking at front of the car from the outside) No front damage to the grill or sensor, all looks in order. I did have the bumper off for a headlight repair last year. Wondering if it's been knocked loose. Looks like it's time to get the bumper off again! 🤦‍♂️ Any advice much appreciated.
  9. I have this foam and there are certainly no instructions with it. I've read the right way to clean the system with this foam, is to find the condensate pipe and insert the flexi tube into that, spraying the can directly onto the condenser. Let it expand, foam up and then drip out the system. The Is300h is quite low down so is hard to access or see this pipe. https://youtu.be/AR6yF2NzRBc Finding someone with a ramp or experience of doing this is what I need, but £130 is excessive!
  10. I think there's two issues. The minor: two different tyres can perform slightly differently so may not be balanced in terms of performance. One could have a longer stopping distance than the other. The major: two different brands will often mean tyres changed at different times, therefore one being older than the other, and almost certainly having a variation in performance.
  11. I think the chancellor just doubled our VED, from £10 to £20. A 100% increase 🤯
  12. Great result for £40 and a bit of time. Thanks for sharing.
  13. Modern dashcams have a power mode for when the car is off (so you get some recording whilst parked up at the supermarket or whatever) and a drive mode for when the car is on. There is every possibility it was wired wrongly, so it is in drive mode is set even whilst the car is parked up. In parking mode, many dashcams offer battery presentation features so if the 12v battery drops beneath a predetermined level, it cuts off so the car can still be started. Seems the dashcam was set up incorrectly!
  14. Any more detail on the code? Seems P3000 is a bit broad or generic! I know it's for a Prius but still... https://rennacs.com/p3000-prius-fault-code-diagnosis/ Hopefully can be sorted and not having to throw too much money at it.
  15. It's painful to see the unusual sized rears cost over 50% more than the fronts! Decent average price nonetheless!
  16. Letter arrived here today too. Co-branded DVSA and Lexus letter. What is the condition? The subject vehicles are equipped with a fuel evaporative emission control unit (fuel tank vent tube assembly) that is attached to the fuel tank by a flange. The fuel tank vent tube assembly prevents the fuel vapor, that is created in the fuel tank, from being released directly into the atmosphere. Due to the design of the flange, there is a possibility that a stress related crack could develop on the exterior surface of the flange. The crack could expand over time and, depending on the size of the crack, could eventually allow fuel to leak. Depending on the amount of fuel that escapes and, if it is in the presence of an ignition source, this could increase the risk of a vehicle fire. What will Lexus do? Customer satisfaction is of paramount importance. Consequently, Lexus has decided to conduct a Safety Recall to replace the fuel tank vent tube assembly. Our records show that your vehicle is amongst those subject to this campaign. Please contact your local Official Lexus Centre as soon as possible to arrange an appointment to have the fuel tank vent tube replaced, free of charge You can find your nearest centre in the enclosed directory or on our website by visiting Please note that, due to the nature of the repair, we would kindly request that, where possible, your vehicle is presented to the Lexus Centre with no more than 1/4 tank of fuel. In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns, please address them to your local Lexus Centre or alternatively, call us free on 0800 046 7907. Our lines are open 8am-8pm, every day.
  17. Might be time to trickle charge the car 12v battery. If it's more responsive, time for a new 12v battery.
  18. Seems very fishy for a low mileage like this. As Robert above noted, they ought to be what the factory fitted unless they got punctured.
  19. I had mine done yesterday. Apparently pressure can build up causing a flange to crack. I'm not sure the person who told me this fully understood the work however. According to my dash cam, the job took no more than 30 minutes. The rear car bench seat was removed from the car and work was presumably undertaken there. Bonnet was opened but not sure what for. I was told it affects a few other Lexus models too. A chap was in with his ES for the same work.
  20. Careful, these cost a fortune (did I previous read, £2K per strut?) so be mindful of that. People have talked about disabling them with a resistor but that's perhaps a modification that compromises pedestrian safety.
  21. I did not, but I called them anyway (I know it said not to) to get it booked in. Recalls cost money and so if it's serious enough to put a recall out (usually on the grounds of safety) then I wanted it done ASAP. However, I don't want my car to be the guinea pig 😂
  22. Anyone had theirs done yet? Mine is booked for a couple of weeks time. I was instructed that I needed to have less than a quarter tank of fuel. Anyone know what is involved in this work? How much dismantling is required and of what?
  23. Google will probably be more helpful than the forum search.
  24. Sorry to hear about this. Where are you located Steve?
  25. I know I prefer private if buying. Good luck.
