  1. Worth a read here. There’s also a few posts elsewhere on the forum too.
  2. I do wonder if the ones from a good local tyre shop will be any good. They may last a sufficient period for the shop to give a reasonable warranty of say 12 or 24 months but I’d hate to have to replace them every couple of years if they just don’t last like genuines. Not that a Lexus dealer would give much more in terms of warranty but at least we’ve all seen our genuine parts last. Mine are still on original sensors at ten years old.
  3. Faulty wing mirror and faulty wing mirror bulb are very different things. Bulb should be changeable. How that’s done, I am sure someone will tell.
  4. Glad it sorted you out. My part was just under £15 when I purchased when I first made this post. Now £22.20. That’s inflation for you!
  5. I have this on my 2013 F-Sport with memory seats. Very useful to me. It was enabled by default, I used no device like Carista to enable it.
  6. It was leaking coolant and there was some play in the bearing / where it spins (I’m not that well versed on the part names). He showed me the play in the motor he removed. I had white powdery stuff which is the coolant, dried up, on the bonnet insulation. It was not a major leak but was only going to get worse. Over how long that would be is anybody’s guess. It’s a 2013 on 81K miles. Coolant level wasn’t low as such, so it was slow. As you said, I too did it for peace of mind. I’ve seen other posts here suggesting 80K is when they start to leak a little. Not an outright failure but just starting to deteriorate. Should be good for another ten years hopefully, maybe longer if the design is updated.
  7. Interesting to hear, thanks. I had in fact had the exact same job (genuine parts) done for £270 from Lex-Tek Autos in Sheffield. Was curious to know how it compared to dealers so thank you. I knew it’d be cheaper but no idea how much Lexus would have wanted.
  8. How much did they charge you for the water pump / fitting @Dells?
  9. Looks like we’ve got a few offers from forum members, to take a look at a failed unit, to see if they can diagnose or get to the bottom of it. Who wants to send their broken unit to either @ColinBarber, @toffee_pie or @steve2006?
  10. That’s a big claim and a scandal, if true. Do you have a source for this? Really doesn’t put Lexus in a good light if so…
  11. Thought provoking topic. Has changed my view on things, that’s for sure. Tints incoming!
  12. Tinted windows (legal ones)? Any take on that being a mod?
  13. Watch out if you’re building up two lots of no claims. If you don’t apply those to your car after I believe two years, you lose them entirely!
  14. Looks like an old toilet seat hinge 🤣
  15. A great outcome. Do you know what part needed changing? £300+ is a lot when you got the lot done for £110!
  16. Go for it @Dells! You should start and lead the compilation effort. It’d be a great thing to have.
  17. Don’t take their word for it and check it yourself.
  18. Mine is the same and has been since I got it 7 years ago.
  19. The eBay link in your first post shows £429.99? I’d buy new at that price! The link in your first post also has a broken bracket. I replaced a light myself last year and can’t remember the importance of this bracket. It may be the bracket is of utmost importance and you’ll have trouble fitting it in a broken state. Mine is an F-Sport and I used the headlight from Lexus Parts Direct. There was no F-Sport specific headlight.
  20. With those two expensive items needing a fix, and someone having driven into you, it sounds like an insurance claim would be worthwhile.
  21. The best fixes are the easy ones like this!
  22. I question how often a battery needs disconnecting in the workshop. For some repairs, yes, but a general service, I don’t think it’d be part of the procedures. There are supposedly ~25,000 Is300h in the UK. How many that are vulnerable to this problem, and undergo a repair that requires a battery disconnect at a dealer, is probably a small number.
  23. It has indeed rained! I will certainly be doing the clean at some point.
  24. And today I wake up and use the window. And the problem has vanished… 🤷‍♂️
