  1. Agreed that dont think worth it to convert to LPG. Sent from The Isle Of Sheppey
  2. This is what I did with my Audi, nearly sold it as got itchy feet but wouldn't have been able to replace it with something comparable. Out of interest in the three years you have had your LS400, what mileage have you put on it in that time?
  3. Good points you raise and certainly ones I have thought of myself, I was originally going to go for a three year old IS300h, but as my mileage is so low I would just end up with a nice car on the drive depreciating and having to pay out £14-15k.
  4. The thing is I would say this is a good one, and there are not many about these days that come up. In terms of the bodywork it is mint - only the odd blemish, no rust and not a single ding anywhere. Prices for good ones range from all over the place from what I have seen
  5. Agreed, lets face it it wont depreciate any further now and am looking to keep for the longer term
  6. Do those tyres fit all okay then rather than the correct ones for the DHP? That is a lot more palatable, how is the ride?
  7. Just an update, collected the car last week and have to say. Very impressed overall for the price. Engine is silent at all speeds, gearbox is good. A couple of points as got checked over by my local mechanic who I trust. He was amazed at thr amount of car for the money but he said that needs a new auxiliary drive belt, the radiator has seen better days, tyres are near legal limit but other than that all good. Said a bit of surface rust on rear sub frame which I knew about. The thing is I'm one im one of those people people that likes to bring their pride and joy back to its former glory, but is it worth it for a £1400 car? For instance the leather interior could use a re-dye and the front armrest needs a retrim. Decent branded tryes for the DHP wheels are £175 a corner, parking sensors, aux input fitted, new rear chrome badges rather than gold. The list is beginning to build up My question is, would you do the same on a 20 year old car? Ive been here before with an Audi TT which was a money pit, but also my mileage is minimal. 4-5k per year at most Sent from The Isle Of Sheppey
  8. Thanks :-) I really like the added chrome window trim you have, where did you source that from?
  9. Thanks buddy :-) I intend to. How do S-Class mercs of a similar age hold up out of interest? Always preferred the LS400, but did like the old S class too of the mid 90s
  10. Thats what im thinking, will only be doing 3-5k a year tops and will be well looked after so cant see me losing money on it after 2-3 years Sent from The Isle Of Sheppey
  11. Thanks buddy, can't wait. When the weather is better will be getting a full dinitrol rust treatment underneath as there is a specialist near me. Will hopefully ensure the bodywork lasts a good few years to come
  12. The exhaust has a slight blow, he said will sort before i pick up, only very slight mind. Would imagine is an aftermarket as you say it has chrome tips Sent from The Isle Of Sheppey
  13. Yes have had a look inside as fairly local to me, just a bit of wear on the leather armrest bit very very clean inside Sent from The Isle Of Sheppey
  14. This car was registered August 97 so thinking one of the last before the mark 4? Sent from The Isle Of Sheppey
  15. I have often wondered that myself. It was a 96 Mk3 in the same green with about 77k on the clock. Sold to a chap who was from the south-west, Weymouth way I believe. I live on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent so the owner would certainly remember that, was back in 2009. There really aren't many of these cars around anymore I guess, or if there are the owners are keeping hold of them
  16. I will double check, thought it did due to the wheels so thought that was a given? I take it the DHP wheels were an option when buying new
  17. Hi all, have been thinking for a long long time to get myself an LS as my late father had one and always remember it as a gorgeous thing and wish I had never sold it when he passed away. Have struggled to find a decent one in good nick as these are getting old now. But I pick mine up next Monday, is this one in the link, although the listing is no longer active as I bought it :-) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Lexus-LS400-/282334756174?hash=item41bc767d4e:g:CdMAAOSwZQRYeLgL It is an absolute minter with all issues sorted as per the old advisories on MOT's and a total of 117k. Also has the dynamic handling pack. Haven't been this excited in a long time to pick up a car! Will keep you posted once I receive
