  1. I really like the IS500 but the quad exhaust doesn’t sit right with me….feels like that’s something that should have been kept for F-cars. Petty, I know…..
  2. Made me laugh that he crashed into a Toyota Prius of all cars! Is a bit of a wedge which explains the 2 wheels. No way you’re going to do that without noticing…..
  3. I’ve been using Tesco Momentum exclusively in the RCF for at least 6 months and reports around 10% increase in fuel economy. I’m saving money ‘per mile’ by using it against standard E10. Car seems to run better on any E5 vs any E10 and I’ve got £30 extra in my bank per month that I otherwise wouldn’t…. No negatives for me and for what it’s worth, didn’t find any further benefits by using Vpower so don't.
  4. Did you end up getting the tracking checked? I can imagine the fronts might wear on the inside even with Lexus figures. RCF certainly does, easy way for manufacturers to dial in a bit of ‘improved handling’ by fiddling with camber etc.
  5. I had a look at the yellow one at Newcastle and I actually really liked the colour. Even on a dull day it looked brilliant, I’d certainly own it! As with any purchase like this, need to make your own opinion on it however! Not sure I’m the best judge mind you as my car is orange!
  6. Interestingly my 2018 RCF didn’t get the same upgrade…..
  7. I’m inclined to agree considering the age and mileage! Feels a good way out…. I wonder if there is a preconception in some sellers eyes that a V8 is a rare positive selling point as they slowly die out. I’m not sure we’re quite there yet, fuel prices still put people off and they aren’t quite rare enough (V8s generally) for enthusiasts to chase after them….. Give it another few years and values will start to creep up!
  8. I must remember that if I ever decide to sell. Could also consider Scotland, the home of Irn Bru or perhaps orange Tango also!
  9. I can personally attest to the fact that you could very well look like a tw*t in one, particularly if it’s orange!
  10. I had both an ST205 and ST185. Really enjoyed them both though the 185 never really got ran. That’s good power in the 3S-GTE. Assume you have had block work done, turbo, installed an intercooler? Still have the ST205 spoiler as a souvenir!
  11. I think this is really important. I understand why others don’t like putting miles on cars but it’s not something I prescribe to. I may get a 3rd car but for now the RCF is my daily. I love every minute in the Lexus and always look forward to driving it. I’m considering an S-Class as a 3rd car but the thing putting me off is whether I have the discipline to not drive the RCF everyday…. How do others do it????
  12. Wife’s car has the Pirelli Scorpion Verde all season tyres on and they are impressive considering they are not ‘winter tyres’. Would thoroughly recommend them…. Managed on untouched 8” deep hills yesterday which is as bad as it’s ever likely to get up here. Just glad it didn’t break down!!!😁
  13. I’m not brave enough to look….ignorance is bliss. If I assume it’s worth 37p then I can’t be disappointed…..unless it drops to 36p!
  14. Safely but sideways!! It wasn’t actually as bad as you would expect….glad I got the new tyres though…. Drove into work in the Range Rover, really confidence inspiring. Only had the RCF out because it was booked in for its MOT and it runs out on Monday.
  15. Who says F cars can’t drive in the snow…. ( (me, I can attest first hand, they are terrible in the snow!!!)
  16. Is a bit of a bummer but as you mentioned, an inevitability. Secretly, I'm hoping that one day V8s are as rare as hen's teeth...... Makes the Lexus V8s that have been produced, all the more special to drive and own!
  17. Are they standard headlights? Front end certainly looks modified.
  18. Much appreciated, the B-series is my favourite in line 4 though the accord H22 is sweet too! Would love to get hold of a Crx SIR now but the cost is too high for get will probably be a bit of a disappointment to drive!
  19. Autoglym make a few good products but if you’re serious about it I’d suggest Bilt Hamber as a more ‘professional grade’ range.
  20. It was good though the gearbox was the star of the show….as an RA it’s really short ratios and it makes such a difference to the driving experience. At the time I liked it, not sure I would have one now though to daily drive. My palette is a little more refined as I’ve aged….I’m growing soft!
  21. I've always been a car guy but have had some right dogs in my time! These are in no particular order and I'l pretty sure Ive missed a load off. First time Ive actually thought about it to be honest, bigger list than I would have imagined in 20yrs of driving. Peugeot 309 Nissan Micra 91 Honda CRX VT 90 Honda CRX SIR 91 Honda CRX 1.5 92 Honda CRX VT 95 Honda Civic SIR II 98 Honda Civic Jordan Honda Civic Type R Honda Accord Type R Toyota Celica GT4 ST185 Toyota Celica GT4 ST205 Subaru Impreza WRX STI RA Toyota MR2 Turbo Nissan Skyline GTR R32 Alfa Romeo Brera Lexus ISF Honda Civic Type R FK8 Lexus RCF
  22. Not a hybrid but I get around 5-10% better mpg in my RCF using Tesco momentum in my car. Pays for itself….. Also worth considering that it tends to drop for everyone, see below link https://mag.toyota.co.uk/why-does-fuel-economy-drop-in-winter/
  23. Regarding the initial question, I would suggest the use of non-oem parts is reasonable as they have been designed as direct replacements for original parts to a comparable specification. If they have been designed with the intention of somehow changing this specification then that’s considered a modification, rather than like for like replacement. I can only assume this is when insurers ask about ‘modifications’ rather than replacement parts.
  24. My RCF is the least popular colour released….certainly polarises people. I must admit though, when the weather is good and the car is clean, it looks fabulous! Similar to your car however, at this time of year it just looks flat. I get lots of comments about how I look like a t**t in it, predominantly from women who clearly find me attractive and are threatened by it!
  25. With respect to the gearing in the LC500, what kind of rpm are you doing around 65-70mph in top gear? In the RCF 8 speed it’s around 1500-1600rpm if I remember correctly…..
