I’ll have a better look when I’m home and see if I can find the visualisation. Much appreciated -

Readout that I have engaged AVS?? Can’t see a mention of it in the manual. I’ll have a closer look when I’m home but didn’t realise I have to switch it on. -
Adaptive Suspension 18' RCF

All, thanks very much for the responses. It has got AVS, checked and can see that the wiring is indeed there. I wonder whether I need to just pop it into a Lexus dealer then. It’s tough as I don’t know what it ‘should’ be like so it’s hard to know if something is wrong! I’m certainly struggling to notice any difference between all the modes and it sounds like I should. Adaptive Suspension 18' RCF
Jgtcracer posted a topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
All, Very much enjoying the RCF but do have a question regarding the AVS active suspension on the car. I'm very much struggling to notice a difference to suspension firmness, irrespective of drive mode. Should it be quite noticeable? My only real experience of active suspension comes from my FK8 civic but its quite noticeable between the 3 modes. Having done a bit of research it seems that many mention that it does make quite a difference on the RCF but I'm struggling to notice with the ride being very firm all the time. Ive checked tyre pressures and all around 35psi. I did notice a few threads mentioning that the AVS can sometimes need resetting, is this indeed true and if so is it just a disconnect the battery job? Appreciate the responses in advance. Marcus -
Lexus Swindon Orange RCF

Quick update on this thread - ended up buying the car and collected it on Saturday, even managed 33mpg on the drive home! Still have the Civic but quite a different driving experience, having to re-learn how to drive an auto V8 though its coming back quick. Certain things remind me of the ISF with the major difference being interior quality, its such a nice place to be! Thanks for the help throughout this thread, Swindon were great and the car is all I hoped for. Looking forward to starting to contribute to the forum once more Marcus- 37 replies

Lexus Swindon Orange RCF

Much appreciated, I like the colour though the wife isn't so sure! I’m a total sucker for Apple CarPlay so will be using that, it’s why I wanted the updated infotainment. Active suspension is also a bonus as my current car has it and appreciate the range of comfort it gives. I’m not too concerned about running costs having ran an ISF so have some idea what to expect. Nice to hear it’s a good car and Swindon are specialists - my experience with them so far has been top notch! -

Im after a couple of things that only seem to be available on the later cars such as the larger infotainment screen and heated steering wheel. Also like the black leather and relatively low mileage. For me personally the warm fuzzy feeling is worth the difference. -

Thanks for the response. Lexus Edinburgh told me about the car but mentioned they would need to buy it from Swindon before they could bring it up. Would be nice to deal with a dealer 90mins away, rather than have to go to Swindon. Have also noticed that it’s been for sale for a few months now so there may be a deal to be had with them however. As for seeing the car, keen to do this and having not driven an RCF I’m also interested in how it is dynamically. My wife recently got a new car and I now appreciate things like comfort, heated seats, apple carplay etc so it being a nice place to sit is probably paramount over pure performance. It will certainly get a good thrashing occasionally however so would do that on a test drive! -

The principle reason for returning to an F car is the larger capacity, and I must admit I actually quite like the colour! With NA V8 engines becoming more and more scarce, finding something with all the mod cons and a glorious engine is actually quite hard. Marcus -
Hi All, Been quite some time since I posted on here but as a previous ISF owner im now in the market for an RCF. Not a huge amount for sale that meet my requirements but have seen the orange RCF at Swindon and it has peaked my interest. Looking for larger infotainment screen and ideally heated steering wheel. Whats the crack with this car? Seems to have been advertised for some time without selling. I'm up north so don't really want to sit in the car for 6 hours to find its not what I'm after. Please see link below to the car and appreciate the help in advance. https://usedcars.lexus.co.uk/en/used-lexus/Lexus/Rc-F-Coupe/Plus-Pack-kmcrf39 Marcus

Mesa Red Isf in Paris + exhaust ?
Jgtcracer replied to Zakoos's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Hello everyone, been quite some time since I have been on the forum but I recently noticed this old post and had to comment. The above ISF was indeed my car for some time until May 18, when it was traded in. At the time it had the apexi throttle controller fitted and an aftermarket panel filter. I wouldn’t usually feel the need to write this post but felt I NEED to state how gutted I am seeing that exhaust mod! I was super close to installing an aftermarket exhaust to the car but didnt, due to price really. I did do some research into removing the rear mufflers as many do in the US but also never bothered. I was adamant that whatever I did, I wanted to retain the OEM tips in the bumper. I heard through the grapevine that the car ended up in Glasgow after I had it but can’t confirm it. I hope everyone is well and still enjoying their cars, V8 NA cars are fast becoming a thing of the past nowadays and I may consider an RCF in the near future so I may be back! I felt I needed to write this post as the exhaust mod is a shocker and didn’t want people thinking I was responsible. Car was my pride and joy when I owned it. Good to see pictures of it, the colour still makes me smile. Hope to speak again soon Marcus -
Europarts Brake Discs and Pads

If DIY store paint are seconds then I can't see it mattering much. If I paint a room I'll buy all the paint I need there and the colour will still match. I was under the impression the reason the trade didn't shop there was because the trade paints are not available and the cost is very high. I work in the manufacturing industry and as said above, between homebase, B&Q, and Wickes etc they will sell the vast majority of stock that these manufactures sell in the UK. Retail brand buyers will not accept seconds from manufacturers, retailers are all powerful nowadays. Just Google Tesco abuse of power. Lol. I'm not convinced that the whole retail market is full of seconds, whether it be car parts or paint. Feel free to tell me I'm talking ****. I usually am! Marcus -

Would they legally be allowed to sell items like that without declaring that it's the case?? Marcus -

Thanks, that was a major selling point for me. It's way more practical than the ISF, has folding seats also. It's not really hatchback sized, it's closer to saloon size. More room in back seats too. I can't think of much south of £30k, even used that will keep up with it point to point either. You guys really need to at least blag a test drive. Not sure if you have noticed but I'm slightly smitten with it. My opinions are completely biased and untrustworthy!! Marcus -

I've been a honda driver just about my whole life, starting in VTEC crx's (had 4 in a row!!) Owned everything from civic type r to Integra type r to accord type r. I was very much in the opinion that honda had lost their way with the new type r cars but they definatly haven't with this one, it drives and feels exactly the same as old school 90's VTEC Honda's, it's just been turned up to 11! The noise is gone though which was a massive part of the VTEC experience for me If you get a chance to drive one, give it a go. (That's some car combo by the way, you must have a very understanding other half!!!!! Your a lucky man.) -

LONG LIVE PINK!!!! On a lighter note, although the styling is a bit Marmite, they do look better in the flesh and I'm not kidding when I say I have never driven something that turns in and grips through a corner like the type R does. I usually take what motoring journalists review with a pinch of salt but it really is like they say it is!! It'll be quicker than the ISF point to point and is cheaper to run and more practical also. Don't discount one based upon styling until you drive it. I was blown away! I'll always miss the ISF though. What character!! Marcus -
Guys, the time finally came today to let the ISF go to a new home. I have loved every minute of ownership but there are lots of cars I want to own and only so much time in which to do it. The car that has replaced it is a 2018 civic type r and although first impressions are epic, the ISF will always have a soft spot in my heart. Thank you to all of the forum friends I have made and good luck for the future. I will still be dipping in from time to time as the banter is just too good to miss!! Cheers guys. Marcus

What do you fancy AFTER your RC-F?

I don't even know what that is!! It's either a coffin or s*x toy (or both) -
Edinburgh to Birmingham for me. As others have mentioned, I'm willing to travel anywhere for the right car as it's going to be with me for a while. Depends on the car too mind, don't think I'd travel far for an Astra or Focus. (If I was after a Focus I'd be driving to the psychiatric unit, not the forecourt!!) Marcus
