  1. I would like add that my experience at Lexus Swindon was very good also, car was in particularly good condition when I collected. I bought it unseen based upon their reputation within the community, they could of taken the ***** and I wouldn’t have known but they didn’t.
  2. I live on the east side of the Scottish border so deal with this daily. When this happened everyone did slow down by approx 10mph but we were all speeding to start off with so are still driving at 30mph in 20mph zones. Recently the trial has been lifted over here with some sections reverting to 30mph and others starting 20mph. Chirnside and Foulden for example have been split in two with a 20mph for part and 30mph for the rest. I don’t mind it to be honest, the road surfaces around here are so poor you have to drive slowly anyway. I’m never in too much of a rush but have them power to nip past if I need to anyway so don’t tend to get stuck behind traffic in between all the villages.
  3. It’s pretty spot on, gives the whole front end a more aggressive stance when looking at it from the front. Thanks
  4. Managed to get the Swift springs fitted this morning, was surprisingly easy though I suppose the car has only done 10,000 miles so wouldn’t expect it to be fighting me. Only driven it a few miles today though ride doesn’t seem to have been affected much and even with spacers, no rubbing to be had at full lock. Did push on over some bumpy roads and didn’t bottom out shocks either! Early days but really pleased with initial results, just need to keep an eye on long term wear. Please see below a pic after install.
  5. Sounds like a good game ‘how much can you add in one fill up??’ Rewards risk taking. I’ve only got a few days left so will have a go later this week.
  6. That’s a tough one, certainly one of my favourite modern engines, dual stage intake almost reminds me of B-series VTEC. I had my first CRX when I was 18 and it was the best thing in the world so I’m perhaps biased. Haven’t driven one in a decade. K20 VTEC engines in the newer Civics are really good too, a bit more torque low down. I must admit I’m not sure I would have bought an RCF were it not for the engine however, the noise is intoxicating!!
  7. 50% better than a K24? Nothing on this earth is better that a K series Honda! (Apart from a B series)
  8. Thanks for the support on the spring tool question, done some extra research and am just going to make the tool. On another note, have today installed the H&S exhaust I received earlier this week. Please see some below pics. Was really easy to install for the DIY mechanic in around 1.5hrs and can be done on axle stands without issue. A couple of points worth considering. Doesn't come with nuts and bolts, need 4x M10 30mm A2 nuts and bolts/washers along with 2x M8 20mm A2 nuts and bolts/washers. Will need a quick clean out of the box, 20mins of autosol made a big different before installing. Give whole thing another clean before running the car as once it warms up, contamination can stain 304/316SS Fit is really good, though be sure to ensure spreader bar is holding tips/boxes in correct position in bumper or knocking can occur. Noise is nice and deep though when cruising you can hardly tell it’s fitted from inside. Once you boot it, really livens up.
  9. All, had a go at fitting springs to the car at weekend, managed to get shocks off without too much incident but the damper top nut is proving to be challenging. As the car has AVS there is a wire that comes out the top of the strut, complicating access with spanners and making fitting a socket nearly impossible. Anyone with any experience removing this nut on an AVS car? I feel a ‘custom’ spanner needing to be made but would rather just get the right tool if it exists. thanks in advance Marcus
  10. That’s interesting, funny how people use the same car in different ways. Unless I want to go sideways out of a junction, will never drop down into 1st manually. Marcus
  11. I pay at the pump, will only let me go to £99. I’m going to pretend it cost me that much to fill a tank.
  12. My RCF is just pleased to have any fuel in it!!
  13. Similar to my RCF, the chrome on the grill is different to the window trim. On another note, Swift Springs are due to arrive on Monday so looking to get them installed this week, depending on availability of the garage. Stand by for further updates😁 Marcus
  14. I’ve still got Supersports on mine at the moment but will probably be fitting something else when it needs them. MPS4S are undeniably good though I feel wear is quite quick, had good experiences with the Goodyear Eagle F1 assy 5. it’s quite a personal choice to be honest.
  15. Is it a knocking or something? Sound like something mechanical? I think 1st is just a bit rubbish, almost like throttle map has been dulled down to resist jerky driving. 1st gear is a manoeuvring gear really, not much use for anything else.
  16. Yea I’ve seen that, I remember something about a shadow edition. May have to look into it further should I not like the wrapped trim going forward. thanks for the heads up!
  17. Good, glad could help. If you are getting funny noises from the diff, particularly when driving straight it may be worth getting it looked at. At slow speeds I think 1st gear is a bit rubbish, car is definitely more comfortable on the move. Don’t suppose you have tried it in manual rather than with box in auto?
  18. If you have TVD you would probably know. There is a TVD button in the centre console next to snow I think and you will have a diff setting graphic on the dash next to drive mode.
  19. I agree, Lexus could really do with moving with the times and adding these ‘black pack’ options etc. I’m by no means fans of German cars but they do a good job of making their cars appeal to a broad audience by adding options that allow those inclined to de-chrome and tint, wheel colours and stuff.
  20. Welcome! Does the car have a TVD or Standard LSD? A lot of cars with LSDs will scrub tyres on full lock, and I notice it in my RCF when turning on the gravel car park at work. This can make noise but it’s the gravel rather than the diff making the it. Don’t notice it at all on paved roads. Id be amazed if something is broken, I believe both diff types are robust.
  21. Another little update on progress with the RCF. As I've mentioned earlier, I'm keen to go for an OEM+ look where the car doesn't necessarily look modified, but has subtle changes made that in my opinion should have been done from the factory. This week its window tints and de-chroming. Tints are fairly self explanatory though thought I would talk a bit about de-chroming. Having done some internet prowling I wasn't sure whether to go gloss, satin or black with vinyl wrap. Initially I was going to go matt on the window chrome and gloss on the front trim. Ended up going gloss throughout with the wrap guy leaving a silver section on the front lip. I didn't ask him to do this and first impressions weren't great but decided to give it a go and I must admit its slowly growing on me. Wrap guy mentioned window chrome was hard work as the front section hasn't got a rubber seal that's easy to lift and hide the wrap under, though the rest was easy. Cost all in for window tints and wrap was £290 which I don't think is too unreasonable. Next up is exhaust and suspension over the next few weeks. Once that's done, going to monitor for a bit as there is nothing else I want to do at the moment.
  22. Thats interesting, what Eagle F1 tyres were they? I was using the Assymetric 5 and was brilliant, though previous Assymetric 3 was rubbish. Only done 1000miles on my new Supersports but will be looking to change to something else when they wear. Previously found the MPS4S to wear too quickly and didn't notice the performance benefit.
  23. Neither have I, though I probably wouldn’t. I’m pretty sure cars today have the ability to adjust parameters to maintain performance. I’ll usually use Vpower intermittently for the cleaning properties it provides.
  24. Sorry, I’m struggling to follow. Are you saying that 98RON without ethanol can make 20-30bhp more that 95RON with 10% ethanol? that’s quite a difference!
  25. That’s interesting, Shell UK site rates it at 99ron. Perhaps it’s different by country. https://support.shell.com/hc/en-gb/articles/115002792532-What-is-Octane-
