  1. Also agree with this. My car is ceramic coated too so just tend to snow foam, pressure wash to rinse and let it dry naturally. Really quick and gets 90% of the dirt off. Try to avoid contact washing at all this time of year.
  2. The kickdown mode on the pedal is going to make it do that I guess so it’s going to feel like that, particularly at lower speeds. The gearbox character will also change depending on the drive mode you are in. It will feel lazy in Eco and eager in sport+. I’d suggest sticking with it in auto and playing with the modes to find a setting you like when cruising around. Manual is good but is designed for booting it around. Think of the RCF as a GT car with manual for spirited driving. It gets compared to a BMW M4 but in reality is a more comfortable cruiser with loads of power than sports car.
  3. Just give it a bit of time, it’s quite a change from a turbo manual so driving style will no doubt need to adapt. In which way are you disappointed?
  4. Thought I would give a final update on this thread as the suspension issue is now sorted. Seems that there was a wire within the connector on the top of the damper strut that was damaged, causing the fault. Must have been like it for some time as the suspension didn't seem to have been disturbed when I first got the car. As mentioned above, when the AVS system detects a problem with a damper it will position all other dampers to match, ensuring that stability is maintained (doesn't give any warning lights etc. on the dash however). Car drives exactly as I would now expect and as a few of you have stated, the AVS system is very much noticeable between settings. So pleased, totally transforms the ride and enjoyment from the car. Would also like to mention how good Lexus Newcastle have been, I'm very impressed with their service levels and technical ability and as such would whole heartedly recommend them should anyone be looking to use their services.
  5. Never heard of them until today and did some Googling, didn’t realise who they are so thanks for the interesting read. Seem to get fairly good reviews though most state that they aren’t quite up to the bigger brands in terms of performance with price being the big win. Width will be fine, think I ran that setup on the ISF without incident though didn’t notice any difference in grip. Physics would suggest there must be but you will need to really be pushing on to lose the rear end of an ISF (accidentally). I’m a wimp so will stick to the household names until someone else tries them first, tyres are the only thing in contact with the road after all and am not willing to bin the RCF for the sake of an experiment.😝
  6. This popped up on my Youtube feed today. Made me smile, car certainly looks familiar! 😀 (skip to 11.00mins)
  7. This is the kit I have and we also have the same infotainment so interested to see your feedback. Do you have to cycle through mode to get audio to work when you switch it on? I have a few gremlins and would be interested to know if it’s something you also have?
  8. My rear diff oil was changed at my most recent 4yr full service. Car has done 16k miles
  9. I’ve got the Hayward and Scott fitted, cracking exhaust
  10. Really like the option America got to have carbon roof and rear spoiler, not so sure on the bonnet. Have the carbon wraps moved on to the point that the quality is really good nowadays?
  11. Yea, seems Lexus can’t do everything well! Shame as they must realise they aren’t very good. Was in a UX recently and the seats weren’t much better….
  12. Running??? I’ll take your word for it.
  13. Is that still rearward facing? Can imagine the passenger seat will have to be quite far forward
  14. I must admit the RCF heated seats are rubbish, I can feel they are on but only barely and can’t imagine using them on any other setting than Max. Wife has a Range Rover and the seats are the best I’ve ever used. Heated steering wheel is ok though.
  15. All, forgot to mention that at my service on Monday I was informed that there is a safety recall that was issued last week for a fuel pipe in the tank and we will be getting letters. Parts aren’t going to be arriving at dealers until the new year. A grew different models were mentioned but can’t confirm if the GSF is also affected. My RCF is a 2018 and is in on the 29th to get done.
  16. Silver wheels look good, been considering getting mine done in a similar colour!
  17. Slight update on this, car had full service today and was fine. Asked the team to have a look at the particularly hard ride and it seems that although the software does recognize changes in suspension mode from the mode selector between 'normal' and 'soft' the dampers are effectively stuck in their stiffest position. Additionally, there are no error codes stored whatsoever. The dampers are 30 way adjustable and all four of mine are at 30 all the time, irrespective of mode selection. Even in sports mode, the suspension damper position will not go to 30 as its only used for extreme load situations. Seems there are a few reasons this could happen including the failure of a single shock absorber. This is because if 1x failed to '1' and the rest were still operating correctly, an unstable ride could be experienced. Its going back at the end of the month for further investigation as I needed to get home..... The tech mentioned that my car is extremely stiff and shouldn't be riding the way it is. I'm really pleased that we found a problem and that it seems to be some form of fault that has been there for a while. Sounds like its just a matter of digging until the route cause is found. Just need to hope now that its going to be a warranty job!
  18. Yea, can’t imagine you will be out of pocket with either should you decide to move them on early, demand for both will be high! yea, the black LC500 at Newcastle was nice but I want to feel special at £60k+ and although it’s nice, doesn’t stir the groin like others I can think of. Didn’t drive it as don’t see the point wasting their time and my car was in getting its service and the wife wanted to get home.
  19. If you don’t mind me asking, why change at all in that case? Was looking at an LC500 today at Lexus Newcastle and in exotic company it doesn’t quite compete at the cost it demands for me quite yet!
  20. Funnily enough, recent government surveys found that solar flare owners are statistically 100% more likely to have great taste, more friends and be more successful than any other colour in the RCF range! Jokes aside, good luck with the sale.
  21. If it’s any comfort I can’t imagine anyone finds running an F-car particularly easy at the moment compared to a ‘normal’ car. It’s probably one of the cheaper cars in its class but doesn’t make it any easier when it’s 23mpg.
  22. Hope you get a quick sale. Fuel has dropped a bit recently, just hope there is a buyer out there for it.
  23. What a colour, clearly a connoisseur of fine automobiles!
  24. There are a few of us now, Glasgow is only a 90mins drive too! Could do with a PPF front end!
