  1. @rayaans Don't you just hate it when a friend knows you to well, @Flytvr the cakes and coffee are on you tomorrow I can't afford it now I've let my investment slide and have to slum it in an is-F 😉 🐀
  2. I sold my Porsche 996Turbo for 29k 2.5 years ago it was a desirable manual good speck there going for about 40-50k now. Still happy with the Lexus though. Its not always about the money as others have said. Big Rat
  3. @Warrington guy Probably a good idea prices of most 'F's what ever model seem to be stabilising. 🐀
  4. Not available for Lexus as yet just Big German manufacturers, it's an OBD plug in app that interrogates the ecu for information regarding the cars past life - mileage clocking identification etc etc. It's aimed to assist with purchasing decision of a vehicle. Number of articles on it on the web sounds interesting. http://www.mycarly.com/home-wip/ Big Rat
  5. @Warrington guy Dave very true, you still been looking at the 'Tangerines Dream ' 😂 🐀
  6. @Womble72 As always Matey you pays your money you takes your choice, the tyre stating the obvious is our only contact with terra ferma and at anyone time each is touching the tarmac on an area about the size of the palm of your hand ! So for me I stick with what the car came with - no more no less - OEM Bridgestones. I get them for £165.00 each all in for the fronts and £150.00 each for the rear in my book can't go far wrong. Big Rat
  7. @Rusty Crobar 5 years Blimmin heck make sure you get that in writing 😁 🐀
  8. @robbyg Bob that looks like a nice integrated fit, I think many of us would want the tech of today it's just making that decision, presumably that was all not supplied and fitted for a hundred round pounds 😂 Big Rat
  9. @mike m In all seriousness Mike it just goes to show the right man the right kit gives the kinda finish we wish would remain all year round, looking forward to the finish job. Big Rat
  10. @mike m Being a builder I'm always up for a challenge, so this car detailing lark no probs I've gathered up some kit from the back of the van as the Silver 'F' needs a spruce up....... Ive scraped out my best muck bucket for the 'H2 O' Solution. And my best plastering sponge had had a dust off and also my favourite broom for the difficult bits. Now I'm guessing you are all going to approve of my own 'Clay Bar' , its a hand sander with 180 grit pad that should shift even the most obstinate stains. So here we go......... Oh and by the way for a fraction of the cost 😂 🐀
  11. @C.B Craig stick with it matey apologies for the banter there really is a lot of helpful bods on here between the odd individuals who mostly live around Gloucester and Wiltshire 😂 🐀
  12. @Warrington guy @Flytvr So I had to go and quote for this job 🤥 On a nice bit of road the van was tired🤥 and the 'F' said how come I don't get taken to work like @Flytvr 'F' No probs you can come the customer had to go out🤥 Blah blah............. Big Rat
  13. @mrfunex Good post Stuart reading that makes me want to go out and buy mine all over again ! Had a play with mine this afternoon up and down Cheddar Gorge and over the Mendip Hills on a route I know well, I always drive mine in sport have done since I bought it, I concur it really is a great gearbox 👍 Big Rat
  14. @olliesgrandad Les here we are then bring back some memories 😁 Big Rat
  15. May see an is-F on the forecourt soon £30k plus 🤓 🐀
  16. @Stuno1 Stuart you are right the later cars certainly are a better product, I've found the article on the 24 white cars I mentioned they were 2011 cars, lots of info online about them, in any event you are looking at a much later car. There is a specialist dealer up the road from me which seems to have loads of quality recent stuff on line if you didn't want the auc route but still wanted a dealer blanket here's the link Stuart if it helps. http://www.mpowercars.co.uk/ Big Rat
  17. @Bluethunder Sean driven RCF's a number of times on extended tests I like them personally I rely on my own requirements and experience when it comes to car buying and would seriously consider one if the GSF didn't exist, I don't put much stock in motor journalism. Big Rat
  18. @Flytvr You get my e-mail earlier ? 🐀
  19. @Stuno1 I had a e92 M3 albeit an earlier one than you are considering and it was a manual, with hindsight I should have bought the DCT, nothing wrong with the manual but as the car really lacks torque and must be revved which is no hardship with the noise it makes and a nice high redline. If track work is for you then I'm not sure the standard brakes are up to it they certainly were not on mine, but the year/ model you are considering is improved I guess, still quite a heavy car not much less than an is-F despite all the press talk over the years. Still a good looking car IMO with lots of parts to uprate if that's your bag, they are thirsty even when driven sedately and there are some reliability issues throttle actuators and so on, personally I wouldn't want out of the AUC and I found BMW dealers hit and miss, mine went in for a warranty claim matter and when it was road tested the tech got caught doing 124 mph in a 30 limit didn't divulge and I got the NIP initially ! I think they are a good car that can get under your skin mainly because of the engine after it's a normally aspirated V8 ! Now I could be wrong but I seem to remember BMW sent 20-25 White M3 Comps through the dealer network that had been used as track day cars for quite sometime may be worth checking in case my greying memory is playing up, loads of info and help on m3cutters site, good luck if you decide to pull the trigger. Big Rat
  20. @stevet Ha it's obviously the car look what's on the computer screen on the office desk 😏 🐀
  21. @Mark G So when you were a naughty boy last time look what happened............. Big Rat
  22. @Shahpor Ignore not at all that's the one, think it was 2.8/9 litres something like that 6 cylinder normally aspirated engines in hot hatches, the like we will not be seeing again. 😔 I know it made them a tad nose heavy but the noise 😊 🐀
  23. @stevet That'll stop those engine steam cleaners then 😏 I was trying to find how VW overcame there transverse V balance issue in the Golfs and so on as they had had a narrow V as well can't remember what degree it was or whether it had a balancer shaft. Big Rat
  24. @stevet The engine in these was also 'breathed on' by Yamaha as was of course the is-F V8, the Volvo engine was a 60 degree V8 for some reason which tend to be inherently unbalanced so a balancer shaft was added which turned out to be notoriously unreliable and if not caught in time valves hit pistons = empty wallet 😬 @Flytvr take note Big Rat
  25. @stevet Intersting Steve how sometimes these things can be pieced together, makes me wonder if the picture featured is the actual car looks immaculate, so you went to look at an S80 V8 as an aside you may want to speak with @Flytvr on here they are his true love 😁. Steve what was the name of the garage can you remember? Big Rat
