@Mark G I think your a very patient man........ after all you have the ability to tolerate me........in small doses admittedly.....I'm just a little confused as to why when we go out for a ride together I'm banished to the back seat.......and spend the rest of the journey having my hearing assaulted by your bloody exhaust Big Rat -
@Grey One And James as one or two have found out recently in the unlikely event the bumper unit is not repairable a new is approx £280.00 + vat so not to painful 😖 Big Rat

@Stuno1 The website depicts both the valved and non valved cat back system, the valved is still available to order I would say from the outset that Quicksilver have been fabulous to deal with and the quality of the product has to be seen to be believed with really helpful advice and IMO they have achieved the impossible in a non valved system. Its just a deep offbeat burble when just driving moderately and in in stop start traffic, the burble increases with throttle increased, accelerating hard is nothing short of earth shattering I'd defy anyone to come up with something better and no drone at motorway speeds nothing at all. @Comedian Sean will be doing a proper thread and video about the days fitting 3 sets to our cars when he and @Jon B get home. Id like to say a big thankyou to Lexus Cheltenham for all there help today I think they enjoyed it all as much as us. Big Rat -

@Stuno1 They are rare on the road and does got a lot of attention but in a positive pleasant way. Just IMO needs the exhaust to stamp its presence audibly as visually it’s already there. Big Rat -

@Stuno1 Thanx Stuart immensely pleased with it, Black with a light grey interior, it's a late 16 plate 9k miles all the available extras except TRD which I didn't want. Early days yet but I love the modernity of it, a Quicksilver Exhaust going it in the morning. Big Rat -

Bought my ISF 2 years ago January, part exed it for the Rcf and got exactly what I paid for it. The isf had 29k on the clock when I bought and 46.5 when I sold it, cost me nothing apart from the two services. Big Rat -

@Nick W858 Wot! Porsche main dealer find non existent faults I can’t believe they would do that my my...... Mind you it’s not just them they all do it to a lesser or a greater degree , either deliberately or through lack of knowledge, the car trade you got to love them 💤 Big Rat
-
@Nick W858 Sorry to hear that Nick is it a warranty matter or do you have to dig deep? Personaly I grew sick and tired of the Marque had some great highs with some of the cars I had especially the Gt3 and the turbo. But frankly the build quality is just not there and far far to many niggling faults with cars I owned indifferent dealers. No wonder they call it Porsche Paranoia 🙄 Big Rat

Unfortunately for me Mrs Rat has dictated that I take her to Australia/Singapore for a month last week in May first 3 weeks in June..... I know it's her 50th blah blah....... you promised blah blah......... it's only a car 😳😳😳😳😳😳What did you say only a........😂 Big Rat
-
So @Comedianin his Blue Rcf was spanking @Steviebee in his Gt3 around the Nurburgring when his bag of talent ran out and he resorted to the Australian method of winning cheating.........

Unfortunately that is an absolute failure as the sidewall has structurally separated internally and is not repairable, I would not drive with a tyre in that condition as it could fail at any time and at motorway speeds could lead to rapid deflation and loss of control. In a previous life as a test driver for Michelin we used to replicate all types of scenarios and this was one such example change it matey soon as. Big Rat

I took a little trip to Quicksilver Exhausts on Friday to pick up some systems for myself and others and had a long chat with the owner Paul Goddard, I'm a past owner of a Gt3 a 996 so was chuffed to be shown his own car it's a low mileage minter mind you it's now on its 3rd engine it seems that the chocolate motors of the past haven't quite been eradicated by Porsche. Major engine problems never effected the previous GT and turbo cars it's a shame hopefully they've solved it now wouldn't want to run one without a warranty 😳

'F' Car 10 Year Meet Major Changes Well had a long chat with Tim Huxley and his team at Cheltenham and due to circumstances beyond there control major changes have to be made. The two main reasons for the changes are firstly the huge unexpected numbers for such a small venue which will lead to both traffic and parking issues which clearly none of us want. And secondly on the chosen dates the now unavailability of the Lfa for the two days, it's a vehicle in high demand that has to be shared both in the Uk and Europe and Tim feels to just have it as a static display with the occasional start up defeats the object somewhat So plans are being prepared for the following......... The published dates of the 21st/22nd will become one day not known which as yet at Cheltenham Lexus as a purely Toyota performance car day of vehicles past and present with open house to workshops on site parking food drink and so on and all are wellcome. As and when I know more I will update as soon as. So as regards the 'F' car event this will be held off site at an as yet undecided location but will have much added interest that would have not been possible at the dealership. This will be held some time in May or June over one day, the venues that they have access to are 2 Hill climb sites which have many facilities and an airfield storage site that has a permission to use dragstrip. The drag strip and or hillclimb will be available to use subject to instructional presence which will be provided, there will also be a much larger number of 'F' cars available to drive test Rcf Gsf Lc and so on, all Owners club members and families are welcome. I can assure all that every effort is being made by Tim and his guy's to come up with the right mix of things to participate in so we can all get the maximum amount of enjoyment from whatever is decided upon. Lexus service v Porsche service
Big Rat replied to Nick W858's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Sorry to hear all those probs Nick I’d firstly say that over the years the 6 Porsche I’ve had all came from main dealers who were mainly awful, except Porsche Bournemouth. Id never go back to the marque anyway my experience is that I didn’t matter how much you spent or how often you changed dealers I just found them a bunch of disinterested liars. Find yourself a good Porsche Indy plenty about....... or buy another Lexus ....... Big Rat -

@DAW With latest one it's the rear to my eye it's absolutely gopping, over styling and heavy looking, I'm not surprised they don't sell to well except to the diehards.......... maybe they say the same things about us and our choices...... Big Rat
