Yellow, Yellow - Dirty Fellow
Big Rat replied to rayaans's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
@Stuno1 Stewart I think when the time comes you ought to perhaps drive both one with the standard suspension and the adjustable. With both of us coming from isF’s the RCF in standard suspension is a massive move on and I find it perfectly acceptable, but it’s a matter of choice 👍 🐀 -
@Eame64 So while we are at it here I am somewhat younger taking delivery of my nice brand new 986 Boxster S in 2000 from Porsche Swindon.... Big Rat
-
@Nick W858 The 2.7 was probably the most reliable of the lot apart from the earlier 2.5 cars. Porsche typically just kept drilling bigger and bigger holes in the block to increase capacity and all they did was increase unreliability 🙄

@Eame64 Oh yes we like pics is that Midnight Blue 986 Boxster S ? 🐀

QuickSilver Exhaust for RC-F & Lexus Warranty
Big Rat replied to DAW's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
@Stuno1 Stuart no it's an axle back system no valves, I know it sounds difficult to believe but there is no drone or unwanted intrusion at any cruising speed and all the attributes we want when we want to 'play '. It really has to be experienced to believe how good it is Big Rat- 11 replies

QuickSilver Exhaust for RC-F & Lexus Warranty
Big Rat replied to DAW's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
@DAW David a big thankyou for persevering on this it's something that will benefit all of us Rcf owners who have already gone this route and for those who may be considering. I want to say from the outset that after my many conversations with the MD of Quicksilver Paul Goddard that he is willing to do a axleback system for the isF and the Gsf subject to the owner lending them the car, he fully accepts this is a big ask , but I've met him and his team and they are a throughly professional business and knowing what I do now with the Rcf system wouldn't hesitate. I know a huge amount of development work went into getting the sound just right for the RcF and I'm convinced they could the same with the isF and gsF. Ive touched before recently on another thread about the sound this exhaust emits and what's been achieved and for me it's exactly what I've been looking for for, I managed to grab a couple of hours in the car today for some fast A+B use the car is transformed it's now a real event to just go for a drive. The low speed offbeat burble sounds just right when dawdling along in traffic increasing to a lovely solid deep sound when accelerating on a moderate throttle. I travelled down the entry slip road at junction 21 M5 heading for The Cheddar Gorge I accelerated hard down to join the motorway and the sound is simply intoxicating, once settled at motorway speeds there is zero drone. Its just one junction south to get to the A38 for Cheddar Gorge which by sheer chance was quiet when I arrived well at least it was until started to travel up it towards the Mendip Hills the sound in sport + manual through the twists and turns simply bounced and reverberated off the rock faces. Once up the top and on the fast straights the element of enjoyment the exhaust now gives for me is worth every penny, I fully accept it's not a cheap addition to the car but with the group buy on this occasion for @Comedian and @Jon B and with @DAW having one on order I was able to get 25% discount and Paul Goddard has agreed to keep this price for future group buys, I'd be happy to organise if and when others felt they were wanted one. I know that @Comedian is preparing a before and after vid of his install and I will try and get some on the the road video in the coming week. Big Rat- 11 replies

Well I like it suits the car IMO and so do the anthracite wheels, reminiscent of the isF. 🐀 -
What You've washed my Rcf
Big Rat replied to Big Rat's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
@Flytvr Yes it's being prepared by someone far cleverer than me........ 😐 🐀 -
So prior to the 3 of us having our Quicksilver Exhausts fitted at Lexus Cheltenham they kindly washed all 3 cars unfortunately they didn't realise that no one touches @Comedian car as the consequences can prove fatal as they were on this occasion..... 😳 Big Rat

A good post Nick and that is precisely the ownership profile and my experience of the marque, if you were 'happy' to run which ever model it was on that basis of a what many know as the the 2 year turnaround, in that buy the car 2 year warranty at point of sale with an OPC presupposing it's a used car. Run it as intended track it and so on and give it back get another or move on. I always bought from an OPC always had them warranted, all 6 had issues both mechanical and electrical not a month would go bye without something of the 6 cars 2 were brand new and the other four nearly new. One most always remember with a 911 and a Boxster is one simple fact where the engine is and the the cost of labour let alone the parts because of the inaccessibility of the bloody things ! The susceptibility to damage to the rads condensers at the front the list is endless really........ but when there Good and your enjoying yourself it kinda makes up for it some of the time anyway As for a JLR product no way not for me 😁 Big Rat

@JonPAnd fitting a Quicksilver system has saved just under 19kg over the OEM...... mind you with the cooked breakfasts and multiple coffees Mrs Rat and I had at the Sea Front this morning would have negated any weight savings.... Big Full Rat

@mrfunexYes usual journalists twaddle, when Harris did the Welsh thing with Gsf and the M5 Jahre edition the Gsf was the better everyday car........ size it seems is everything 🐀

@ColinBarber Most informative Colin, if I only knew my car as well, only yesterday I realised that on the RCF the front led’s are combined with the indicators..... looking in my rear view mirror on the M4 with @Jon B behind me.... Ah well...... more importantly when @Comedian wakes this morning and reads your techie post he will come over all warm and moist with excitement......... Big Rat -
