  1. @emjay82 you're right there can't say I've ever experienced it either, even at one or two independents I've used in the past, they all just seem so bored of it, it's as you say all about the money. Its just a job to them which is understandable to a certain extent but a little bit of passion for the product would go a long way 😏 🐀
  2. @Mark GHope your mate gets yours right when you get those tyres done as one or two on here might take pics and post them up on here 😂 🐀
  3. What is it with dealers at times, its almost as if they need someone to 'proof read' a car before advertising it. I know things like this probably mean nothing to them just makes them look silly. I bought a BMW 335i Convertible from a main dealer a AUC car, I said it needed 4 tyres prior to delivery, which they duly did, but genuinely the hour or so before they took them off and put the old tyres back as they mixed the car up with one going for auction. Now I fully accept I should of checked looked the car over the walls had been Matt blacked which fooled me. So Mrs Rat me set off to a drive by the coast and near Bournemouth Airport a combined Police and DOT check point, a few phone calls later to the dealer and an understanding Police man got me off the hook, but again they just make themselves look stupid, did get a free extra years warranty though 👍 Big Rat
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the front wheels on the wrong side as well ? Big Rat
  5. Yes car salesman, doesn't necessarily mean they know anything about the following: . Maths . Know what they are talking about .Telling the truth . Maths ........... The list is endless 😂 Big Rat
  6. @emjay82 You know what give em a ring they might want to part with the newer style to make some money quick, because that sure as heck ain't gonna make a quick buck on the car matey😂
  7. I do like them I really do,but I'd still have a GSF I just like that little bit of anonymity, that semi sleeper, but heck 18 is a lot 🤔 Big Rat
  8. Greed is good car trade motto 😂 Big Rat
  9. Just my thoughts as well, after all not like it's done lots of miles, auction please ......🙄 Cynical Rat
  10. @emjay82 Mark here we are bit of a topic update pictures of the car, it err does look very nice don't it 😜 Correct me if I'm wrong should it not have the later wheels or were these standard even then and the later ones an option ? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201702162385271?make=LEXUS&model=IS F&logcode=p Big Rat
  11. From the times I visit family they already use huge numbers of 4x4 city- town and country ute's to use there parlance. Never seen the type of 4x4 Brit Police use BMW X5 and the like. I understand as well for political reasons they go for a lot of home grown and Japanese vehicles, whereas in New Zealand quite recently the Police had 4 Toyota's on test and there was uproar, initially. Still I suppose as with everything else it will come down to money 🤑 Big Rat
  12. I agree with this it will be a very slow take up of people getting out of there diesel cars countrywide as it's a fuel that's been a hard sell by government and manufacturers pushing it just on the basis of co2 and look where it's got them. Many members of the public would be seriously out of pocket if major changes we're brought about in haste, it has to be hybrid/ plug in hybrid or as above small capacity/ turbo charged petrol which have come on well in efficiency recently take the little 1litre jobbee that ford has it's pretty darn good, few problems with them but nothing fundamental. After all Lexus came out with the comparatively recent 2.0T which I personally rate quite highly and think it's a good addition to the range albeit takeup seems to be a little slow, no doubt more knowledgeable on here may correct me on this. Mrs Rats car will be changed in the next year or so and a NX Petrol Turbo has an appeal for us. We are an all petrol family except my vans but that for the foreseeable future is unavoidable, do not like diesel cars personally only ever had large engine ones BMW 535D and suchlike just not my cup of tea. 13. The techniques employed for large front engined rear wheel drive, are going to be quite different to powerful front engined hot hatch type vehicle, which I can't see them using simply because of the size of the vehicle. They traditionally prefer large 4 door saloons or estates as they are able to carry the equipment have a reasonable level of comfort and a more professional presence. Im guessing they may well consider 6/8 cylinder turbo petrol and or four wheel drive, so to answer your question if they don't go the the 'trad V8 ' route then to get people up to an acceptable level of competence despite there experience takes time. After all like all things to do with Policing there damned if they do damned if they don't 😏 Big Rat
  14. Fraud so Matey it's a numbers game, couple of weeks away from normal duties - refresher courses you start multiplying that country wide into thousands of man hours mounts up. If they don't remember we live in a very litigious age 🙄 Big Rat
  15. Now that there are no new V8 rear wheel drive cars produced for the Australian domestic market the Police down under have a problem. The vast majority if not all there high performance drivers are only trained on rear wheel drive vehicles with large capacity engines. Lexus have marked and equipped RCF's for demonstration and publicity uses and although GSF's are a suitable vehicle for the task no decisions have been made. Insiders say the quandary for the cops is a nationwide retraining programme, or buy Lexus or American. Big Rat
  16. I suspect, now this is my personal opinion that the rozzer that the driver ticked off was a ISF owner whose car was Silver and he just wanted to rid his city of lesser colour choices. Ah a subject matter that some on here will be spitting out there Sunday cornflakes......... is this the face of a concerned man 😂 Big Rat
