@Mark G I can fully understand that, a fair chunk of cash separates the two I'd wait for the GSF to continue to tumble if I wanted one, whereas the RCF may I dare say are approaching achievable for some of us 😏 🐀 -

@Flytvr That's a fair question the Transit Custom is 4972mm long, a GSF is 4914mm. Our ISF's by way of comparison are 4660mm. The rear and the boot space in a GSF is better. 🐀 -

@Rusty Crobar Probably best described by saying that every thing about it feels just a little bit better than ISF, evolution not revolution, though I accept it's not a direct replacement, one could consider it as so. The ride is better as is the exhaust note obviously a much more modern interior the seats are fantastic. Just searching down the back of the sofa as we speak 😂 🐀 -

Agree with all that from Matt above, had a saloon one of these in carbon black from new, I quite liked it, if yours is running on 18"s they will be run flats unless someone has replaced with conventional tyres, they ride like an isF on RF's if they are 19"s as mine was if memory serves we correct they didn't have RF's from the factory but the wheels are prone to cracking, I had 3. @Rusty Crobar Effectively it means as I understand it that 'negative' means the road wheel is vertical to the tyre foot print on the road surface. And to explain it at its best here's a handy diagram..... So Viewing this picture at the basic format of the suspension depicted the bottom joint can be taken as LCA joint, lower control arm, and it is this joint that is available in three adjustments from Lexus, to give you the choice this offers. Now I do not know which our cars have fitted as 'standard' this can be identified by the dealer from the stamped in part number, and you can proceed from there to custom the handling set up you require. As above all three are now a harder compound rubber. Im interested in keeping my car as standard so I shall be doing some more research on this shortly with the dealer when my goes in for Tyres/MOT I will share on here my findings, there maybe benefits in there maybe not for a hundred squid plus fitting it's got to be worth a punt ( they've quoted a little over an hours labour). @Mark6pot So there we have it concrete proof ...... The right car the right colour, clearly the right wife and the right decision has been made ! Mark you've said you had the tracking done obviously this included the front did it through up any remarks? Have you got / inner front tyre wear ? I rang my local stealer yesterday regarding the bushes for the front lower control arms £100.00 for the pair, now I don't have a problem with mine, yet , but helpful chap was telling me that there are 3 different setups, 3 separate part numbers. So there is negative and + or - 20 which is something I was unaware of AND AS WELL NOW THEY ARE A HARDER COMPOUND RUBBER. Mines due new tyres and a geo so I'll give all this some thought, service manager confirmed that non standard suspension components are a warranty no no. Im guessing you had an Indy do your bit of work ? Big Rat -
@DAW And when the comparisons where made between the isF and the M3 some years ago by virtually all the motoring journos regarding gearboxes the BM's all had 'modern' DCT gearboxs and the isF had to make do with an 'old fashioned ' auto. Now isn't it strange that all the 'M's are to become auto only, they really do talk a load of s... Big Rat

@emjay82 Yeah that's right mate I heard all of that as well, did you hear him say I'm not really with this lot they just keep following me around as the can't find there way out of Wales 😂 🐀 -
From a personal perspective long live large capacity normally aspirated engines ! I know they have a limited life due to emissions but at least it's an aspect that for now Lexus is true to. Big Rat

@DAW Just stop this now all this common sense honestly I'm beginning to sound like your sycophantic lap dog, actually that's fine by me 😂 Big Rat

@Flytvr Well whilst there if you spent less time discussing milk floats with other drivers you could have thrown a bucket over it. Dont try and say this picture is from a 'different ' Welsh trip you know The Rat is always truthful in his posts 🤥 🐀 -
@DAW Absolutely right on all counts, there are a fair few on here who have come from the various German marques my self included who will throughly endorse all you have said, and as an aside I've had to buy my self another works van 20k on a Transit, I've bought another Ford purely for value for money. The usual VW & Merc are stupid stupid prices, if I could have bought an appropriate Japanese van for my needs I would have done without hesitation. This is how my Lexus ownership is now forming my future vehicle purchases. Big Rat

Big Rat replied to Flytvr's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
@mikeyv I agree with you on this, I must confess to have allowed myself to be led down the 'German Garden Path' for more years than I care now to remember, that's not to say that I did not enjoy some mighty fine cars from Porsche BMW and the like but I should have been more opened minded at times and allowed some 'Eastern Delights, into the garage. One must always bear in mind as well when it comes to motoring journalists is just who is paying them to say the things they do about different manufacturers and cars, many of these people lie for a living as well as it being part of there craft to manufacture things in an entertainment way they are not the least bit interested in balance, though I accept there will be the odd exception. Its up to us to go into the buying of any vehicle with eyes wide open and not put to much stock on what these people say. Big Rat -

@Spacewagon52 I agree I quite enjoy gathering information on individual ISF's on the basis it may help others on a future purchase of a car that perhaps the forum members don't know about. I am conscious of course not saying anything on a public forum that I cannot back up with fact as I would not want to interfere with the sale of a car either privately or at a dealers. Simply stating what I have found easily obtainable on line that anyone can establish with a few clicks. Bug Rat
