@The Big C In the flesh they are IMO from most angles very good, the drive is for a largish powerful saloon car in today's road conditions one of the best no question. Big Rat

@ollie isf My two pennies worth on the comment regarding the warranty is that, the car trade since time in memorial doesn't have the best reputation for honesty and integrity. The same can be said about many businesses I accept banking, journalism and so on but and it's a big but and I can speak from long long experience of many manufacturers over 40 years and an equal number of cars both new and old and Lexus from my personal experience thus far are one of the better ones. Ive had one warranty claim- the water pump which was replaced without question. No warranty is perfect and we don't always get what we want in life, but for value for money it works for me. If people choose not to have it that's fine but probably best to have a war chest just in case. The perfect manufacturer perfect dealership does not exist, they are still a very good car though. @Flytvr Ah yes forgot to mention, put the spare set of wheels in the van and off to a local place to me, where I'd ordered OEM Bridgestones supplied and fitted on all four, and also picked up 4 Michelin winter tyres in the wrappers to go on the other set in October, All in price £1016.00 absolute bargain 😁 Bug Rat

@lotusdave I agree with you, I have as the post states at the start I took a very knowledgeable friend and he advised against the euro route. Im going to need front discs and pads soon so I will be going the Lexus route it's not cheap but I've the time and the inclination to keep playing one of against the other to get what I consider the right deal. The OEM set is IMO very good. I did this when the plugs needed changing, another costly job if you pay the full asking price, got it done for £180.80 in the end supply and fit the original asking price was over £ 300.00. So savings can be made no matter what the dealers say initially. Big Rat

@Farqui You are absolutely right about the fitting of a new pair to the rear, it is irrelevant whether the car is FWD-RWD-FOUR Wheel drive. Adopt the adage 'Best to back' you may say. @ThebigC Charlie you've come to the right shop, great decision by you as well all accept the not wanting a Silver one...... cough cough 😊 Seriously though if something comes up in the Southwest and you want someone to give it a once over before you travel happy to help. As @Farqui says comprise is something to bear in mind there are only a little over 200 in the country left now. Not all by now are standard if that's something else that may concern you. I have a list of the cars that were press/ magazine cars that will have led a full and exercised life ! But these cars are virtually bomb proof in most respects. @Mark G Maybe it's the little boy in or the builder landscaper in me, combination of both I guess but the second time I went to a friends in Miami this was mine on hire for three weeks for not much money picked up - excuse the pun at Miami Airport and returned there after much cheaper than Mustangs and so on, looks dated now this was 2003, but. 7.3 diesel has some grunt and it did 10-14 mpg 😳 Big Rat
