  1. Have you tried the URL in post #14 and punching in your current DVD#?
  2. The bonnet has been difficult to close, so each time I've popped the bonnet I have been gradually cranking down the bump stops. It now finally closes with just a respectable drop instead of a forceful slam. Gawd knows why the stops were set so high, as the bonnet is still snug. The passenger footwell doesn't appear to have getting any heat. So the Mrs tootsies aren't getting warm :( Is there an actuator that can play up under the dash somewhere? Neither of the heated front seats get as warm as our previous Civic. We couldn't stand the Civic on high for long but the Lexus on high is barely warm, by comparison. Have I read that each swab has a couple of elements and if one fails then the seats run cooler? Does anyone have any experience or guidance?
  3. I intend to use a piggy back fuse and may just cut out the fuse cover to accommodate the piggy fuse. I'll see how it looks during fitting.
  4. Excellent news, well done keeping the steed in good order. Happy days eh.
  5. Gawd, how frustrating. What did Lexus 'fix'?
  6. Wowzers, what a great looking car. Well found and enjoy the burble.
  7. If all those miles have been covered on the original clutch then understandable that it's starting to complain. Good luck getting it sorted.
  8. The symptoms are typical of a slipping clutch, especially if you are demanding lots of power from low rpm. It's a common issue on Civic 2.2 derv's but the clutch has a self adjuster that prevents slip for a while. Does the IS have also have a self adjusting clutch? How many miles has the clutch/car covered?
  9. Great pic's and a smart looking car, enjoy
  10. Think I must have clocked it on the ClubLexus forum " The 450h uses a dual stage torque multiplication device which splits gear ratios in 2 stages, hence even when you increase speed at a very slow pace, you will feel a surge around 60 mph, this is when the 2nd stage starts. The faster you accelerate, the more you will feel the speed pickup surge on the 2nd stage. "
  11. The V5 has just turned up
  12. Sorry to hear that, glad you have a warranty to cover the work. Still frustrating tho. Hopefully the dealer gets to the bottom of it this time.
  13. What a great build. Alas I can't help with your problem either but I'm keen to see your project develop further.
  14. Yup, I've had the GS450H for around 3 weeks now. I'm still getting used to it but I'm liking it thus far. It's a good step up from my old Civic, even tho it had a stage 2 remap/coilvers/bigger brakes. My interior is black, the paint is black and I get lots of funeral director jibes! LOL
  15. Well done you, skinning your knuckles and earning brownie points. Sounds like a nasty job. I hate plumbing, I do it but I hate it. A hack in the beastie afterwards sounds like a great reward tho PS: I scanned your post title and initially I thought it said 'anti-perspirant'! Long day, tired eyes and all that
  16. When 'gen' is your satnav? Check the link Shahpor added a few posts back, under the 'Get a Map' option. From the gen5 ad's that I've seen they often claim to also be compatible with the earlier gen3 systems.
  17. Got my car booked in for an inspection at my trusty local mechanic a week on Friday. From the zoorst leak pic's I took he reckon's it'll be better to chop out the offending rear Y piece and drop in a couple of new bends. Once up on the ramps we can determine what the best option is, then he can measure up and order what's needed. I'll also be able to take another closer look at these weeping front shocks. I've covered a fair few miles in her now and had a good 2hr commute (each way) yesterday to understand how she drives on roads I know well. I have to say that I'm impressed, the ride is comfy yet firm enough when you need it, it's quiet and comfortable so is everything I'd hoped. I'm still trying to adjust to the power and gearbox, not that there's much to do mind you! Cruising at the legal limit gives 40mpg+ on the read outs but anything more and mpgs drops off, as you'd expect. But did I read somewhere that over 80mph the eCVT goes into over drive or something?
  18. Excellent, its always to good to get to the bottom of an issue. Fingers crossed that it's sorted now eh.
  19. They now claim that they aren't leaking under the spring seat, instead it's by the bracket holding the brake hose which often appears very slight before going into a full leak. I've educated them them that it's a bracket for the ABS sensor and not the flexi-brake line. I'll take a look myself (again) when I can be bothered. Good spot re: the different labels on the dampers. I know one of the earlier MOT's flagged an issue, so perhaps it was changed then?
  20. The top of the lower spring perch's are dry too. The dealer's service tech claims there is corrosion under the spring seats (true) and oil is leaking (false). So why did they say they report that the shocks were leaking? They offered to take a video and show me...haha yeah right, no doubt they douse the dampers first. I've sent my own pic's over to them now, will see what they come back with.
  21. Ah okay, i miss understood - thanks
  22. Good job, the caliper painting looks great and I like the tip about the decals.
  23. Can you clarify 'both welds'? Yeah, they'll probably be surprised to hear that one of their customers uses a jack :D They priced up the shox and to reseat both front TPMS valves. Not the brake pipe tho.
  24. A random E1E version on eBay lists compatible with both our models :) LEXUS Vehicles covered; IS250, IS220d, IS200, IS300, RX300, RX350, RX400h, GS300, GS430, GS450h, LS430, LS460, LS600h, SC430
  25. @Shahpor, ah are these shocks known to leak from the top? Is that still in the wheel well or under the plastic panels in the engine bay? @doog442, I'll call the service manager in the morning and see what the real story is here. I do hope they weren't trying to fleece me for 2 new shox and an extra TPMS sensor. I was encouraged that they offered to weld the leaky zoorst rather than simply order an expensive replacement. £150 maybe a bit steep but maybe not if the part is removed to weld.
