  1. That's a pleasant surprise and good to know for our trips to Belgium this year. Will be our first time over in GS, can't wait.
  2. Sounds like your efforts will pay off, well done. It's a shame they dried up so quickly tho. This job is on my to-do list.
  3. I notice the throttle is much more responsive/eager in PWR but Sport doesn't feel much different. To be fair, I haven't tried Sport for that long so will try it for longer next time I'm out.
  4. I also noticed that when the Hybrid battery was fully charged, you could launch with more...vigor before the engine kicked in.
  5. Took a drive out to Derbyshire yesterday and found the long descents into Matlock fully charged the Hybrid battery. We very rarely get the chance to get regen that high in the flat lands of Linc's.
  6. Yes, before purchasing mine I called up a Lexus dealer who'd done the MOT's and confirmed the servicing record. They needed the VIN number tho
  7. Was on the evening news and apparently the 'bandit' could only rev the car. Some old dear was supposed to have tackled the geezer first before everyone else piled in. I bet that wouldn't happen in London.
  8. @Bigchad, nicely done, resourceful 👍
  9. Like this? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/262844787062
  10. The rear air duct is something like this snorkel at the bottom/middle of this diagram of an RX center console. After a few hours it'll get warm. I only know as my heater was recently blowing all the air to the rear seats and I ended up popping the air rest up to feel some heat. I'm glad there were no choc's in the arm rest Reference; https://parts.lexusofenglewood.com/auto-parts/2016/lexus/rx450h/f-sport-trim/3-5l-v6-electric-gas-engine/body-cat/center-console-scat/?part_number=5812348040
  11. Great, it's good to know that the SGS units work well.
  12. Does your RX have heater vents between the two front seats for the rear passengers? This is likely where the heat is going. Like I said, play around with the different heater modes and set the AC on and see if the tunnel temp changes after 10-15mins.
  13. Might it be the heater pipework for the rear seats? My GS does the same thing and gets hotter depending on your heater mode setting. Maybe try flipping the AC to cold and see if the tunnel temp changes?
  14. Yes, the Hybrid health check is included as part of regular Lexus servicing but can be requested separately for around £70 if you service elsewhere. The Hybrid system can be warrantied annually up to 10 years.
  15. I'm glad that your repairs were covered under warranty. Were your rear brake lines corroded at the end of the fixed line like this? The rear calipers get worked less on these Hybrids but to replace them seems excessive. Other cars suffer sticky sliders too, so it's not just this make/model that are affected. I'm new to this model and would like to know if it's just the sliders or the main pistons (or both) that fail. I intend to give mine a good once over soon.
  16. Hi Geoff, welcome to the forum. Enjoy your RX, it looks great.
  17. I didn't get anywhere with the heater on Saturday afternoon, so button it all back up and thought the mode control was roughly working. Nah, on a 5am commute the other morning clear screen setting kicked in (I didn't test that earlier) and the heater did zip all except vent to the rear seats! For the entire 4hr round trip At lunchtime I went back to basics and figured out what lever on the heater does what. I also removed the 2 servo's/mounting plate and let them do their thing. Once I had a grasp of ALL the settings (temp, modes) I set all levers in roughly the right setting, lined the mounting plate to the heater arms (no easy feat), restarted the vehicle and the first test failed I have noticed that when you turn off the ignition, the servo's sit for a while and then revert to some standby setting. I think this has been throwing me off so I removed the servo plate, set all levers in roughly the right setting, fired up the ignition and let the servo plate settle. With the ignition still on, I aligned the mounting plate to the arms for the umpteenth time and gingerly pressed a different mode button... The first test worked and the servo's didn't bind, try another mode setting and that worked. Trying not to freak out I carefully went through all the possible combinations and to my delight they all work The passenger side footwell output is still hopeless tho I think I may know which control needs a slight tweak but then it may just be the way the airflows. Rather than dismantle it all again I reckon I'll buy the mrs a heated blanket/mat or fan to keep her feet warm. To help align the 7? heater control arms to the servo plate I found one of these cheap endoscope camera's quite helpful to help see around corners http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/122076843254 Oh and this time there are NO spare fixings left over LOL
  18. Very smart, looks great. Oh and I like the way it can defy gravity, must have REALLY sticky tyres
  19. Well done, enjoy. There's no need to fret about part lifetimes, you just bought yourself a Lexus 😁
  20. Welcome to the forum and good luck hunting down a Lexus that suits your needs. I had a FK3 before my new-to-me GS, I also recently drove a CT as a service loaner. The Civic suffers poor dampers that soon show signs of wear. Mine were shot and I replaced with coilvers. I've also driven other Civics and with fresh dampers they cope with UK roads well. I felt the CT had a firm ride but not uncomfortable. The seats were pretty comfy albeit a bit on the firm side but they were still supportive. Compared to the 8th gen Civic the CT is a good step forward. Have you had a test drive yet? Keep in mind that I'm now settling into the wafty ride and softish seats of the GS. Will your CT have a CVT gearbox? A Hybrid? The Lexus warranties do seem comprehensive and the Hybrid can be warrantied up to 10 years. Don't forget that Lexus build quality and reliability is typically very good. Let us know how you get on.
  21. Fair enough...hardwiring via a piggy back fuse takes just a few minutes 😉
  22. Ah, I'd start looking around that first then. A quick Google search pulled up a few potentially useful posts for you e.g. http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/105130-sunroof-front-drains-blocked-rx300-2005/ http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/96632-rx400h-sunroof-drain-holes/ http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/75730-rain-water-leaking-into-footwells/ Other threads online too if these aren't helpful. Good luck tracking down and resolving the issue.
  23. Yikes that doesn't look good at all. Does your car have a sun roof? - they have drain holes that can clog or the pipe work can come adrift...
