  1. That's not the case in my hybrid, the engine rev's when in Park. See John's post here that confirm the traction battery will be charged whilst doing this (albeit not by much) During quarantine, Lexus recommendations are noted here; https://blog.lexus.co.uk/lexus-hybrid-parked/ I haven't seen much loss of charge to my hybrid battery since mid March, although it has had a good run to the shops occasionally. I don't tend to leave it sat for more than a couple of weeks max. Provided you are keeping the 12v aux battery topped up, I wouldn't worry too much about yours being sat.
  2. Hi Joe, that's a nice looking GS and she'll be glad you found her with all your updates. The exhausts do seem to start failing after 10 years or so, mine did and I (along with others) went for a custom stainless exhaust (by Tony Banks, Leeds) rather than pay the high dealer price. Keep us posted on your progress. Cheers, Lee
  3. Ian, at least the sun has mostly been shining with the driest April on record...so your top down runs out should have been pleasant right? #jealous I normally fill up every 10 days/2 weeks but my last fill up was 2 months ago! #ka-ching
  4. Hey Lorne, you can find exploded diagrams (free) for your Lexus on 7zap 😉 Yes, the front brakes have a shield which maybe rubbing or have a stone caught in there, see here; https://lexus.7zap.com/en/eu/lexus+gs/334510/gws191r-bexqhw/2/4705/475046a/
  5. My Lexus parts dept didn't know what a PCV was, which I found both hilarious and concerning. They wanted to sell me some crazy complete assembly at a suitably daft price, so I left them to their musings and sourced one from RockAuto for a fraction of the price (bundled into a larger order). Cleaning them is an option but as they are so cheap to replace it's better to have done with it and fit a new one.
  6. As you're able to jack up and investigate further, then let us know what you find...
  7. Hi Lorne, welcome to the forum. I think you'll find that the hybrid GS has an electric power steering system rather than hydraulic. Can you explain the noise you experience when turning? Regards, Lee
  8. You're right that the vehicle controls the traction battery usage and will not over charge. I maybe wrong but don't the bars on the hybrid battery display show 40% to 80% of total battery capacity? So you can get all the bars showing full which equates to 80% battery.
  9. That didn't take long, will check voltage again tomorrow VID_20200428_185452.mp4
  10. Good to here @Vlady Mine has been on charge all afternoon now so this is a good reminder to go check it's status.
  11. During this unprecedented time I too have jumped on the CTEK band wagon (with numerous battery related threads recently).
  12. There are far fewer GS's on the road vs other models, so the chances of GS cat thefts are lower? The taller RX has more ground clearance so is an easier target. Having said that we've seen vids of cats being removed from CT's using a jack in broad day light #brazen
  13. Parts now often use sealed bearings that are deemed replaceable rather than serviceable these days. However I was very surprised when I replaced my rear toe rods the ball joints had grease nipples on 'em These were sourced from Rockauto so maybe many parts stateside still come with old skool grease nipples?
  14. Yes, that's the chap. I'll PM you re: price.
  15. I can also vouch for Tony Banks ss system, i had mid and rear sections and it does not drone. The TB system has just enough noise to tell you what the engine is doing. An OEM zoorst on my vehicle was too quiet and felt odd. My old system was rotten, due to age, salted roads.
  16. A quick search of related threads on here suggests yours will be an AGM battery of 45Ah capacity; Toyota often sell comparable batteries much cheaper than Lexus and ^ thread shows part# 28800-YZZPD - online these retail around £100. https://www.lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/parts/lexus-ct/lexus-ct-2010-onwards/lexus-ct-engine-service-kits/lexus-ct-phase-1-12v-starter-battery/ Unfortunately ^ aren't taking orders at the moment 😞
  17. Ah, can't you access the boot via the key buried within your fob? #oldskool
  18. Hi Catherine, welcome to the forum. There have been many threads recently about keeping battery's topped up whilst we are locked at home, check here; https://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/discover/23/ Lexus hybrids tend to be AGM style batteries, so first check this on your battery and then order a compatible charger. Regards, Lee
  19. Hi Paul, That looks neat, so I can see why you are interested. According to the thread it was made with custom logo's; https://www.clublexus.com/forums/es-6th-gen-2013-2018/745343-custom-lexus-logo-sunshade-for-es300h.html Covercraft are a US based company and I don't know if they have any outlets over here; https://www.covercraft.com/us/en/shop/lexus/sunscreens/ Cheers, Lee
  20. Getting sufficient access to use the tool maybe a problem tho, especially on the upper bolt(s). Pullers and presses are often to big and bulky to get into a decent position. I've spent several hours trying to free bolts that eventually had to be cut up but it's worth a try to see if you can free the bolt(s).
  21. Good question, my bolt was locked solid into the arm so as you can see I ended up sacrificing the old arm.
  22. I just watched a Harry's Garage video about storing vehicles and he shows a Ctek battery indicator that you can leave permanently hooked up that uses a simple traffic light system to show the state of the battery at a glance. I didn't know about these but they seem like a neat way to have a quick hook up to the charger should your battery indicate it needs a boost. They aren't expensive either 😉 https://www.ctek.com/products/vehicle/indicator-eyelet-m8 Has anyone use one?
  23. Hey Sami, your issue sounds the same as I found on my rear toe link and the bolt just would not budge. I ended up chopping the arm and bolt out, then sourcing replacements. In a confined space it was not easy, it probably took a couple of hours to cut everything free. Reference thread; Replacing the control arms off could prove expensive, check RoackAuto for prices 😉 as that's where I sourced my tie rods. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
