  1. Welcome to the forum. Saab's owners often get attached to their cars. I'm sure the Lexus will be a good step up. Do you intend to do lots of highway miles in the derv?
  2. Sounds like a great drive with some special beasties to chase/chase you 😀👍
  3. ±1 here, they look good
  4. Doesn't the Hybrid tech means that neither the internal combustion engine nor the batteries/motors are ever over stressed? Instead the power units work in tandem which surely means they should last a good while longer more than a single unit that used constantly. Krzysztof makes a good point about motorway miles being less stressful. The one niggle in the back of my mind is just how complex the Hybrid system is but I'm leaning towards Lexus/ have thoroughly tested the system. After all, it's a Lexus. Also Toyota have been using the technology for many years so should have it pretty well set-up now. From what I've read the implemented battery management seems pretty solid. I hope Tony's issue with the Hybrid pump was a relatively isolated/low occurrence issue...my pinkies are firmly crossed anyhoo!
  5. Wow, what a stunner 👍 That pic is soooo good it would make a great screen saver.
  6. Well done getting the front dashcam installed. Doesn't your handbook show you were the cabin fuse box(es) are and what fuses are present?
  7. Oops, good job you weren't in a rush for it. Meanwhile the suspense is killing me!
  8. Have you seen the leak for yourself? If you aren't able to check for yourself, then get an independent garage to check them over.
  9. Mark / @Pecker, good shout as the MTEC coatings mean the bells/etc continue to look good and won't rust like other suppliers.
  10. protective film, at the lower rear corner
  11. Wow, a clean black car is hard to beat and yours looks great. Who did the detailing and do you know what products they used?
  12. Your IS has coilovers right, so must be pretty fun when you want some fun?
  13. I hadn't realised it until recently but Purity X can be used on alloys too. I'm looking forward to giving it a try as others rate it for ease of use.
  14. A good alloy sealant is FK1000, mine/mrsF's come up nicely under light lance action.
  15. I find GS is much more pleasant to drive and handles suprisingly well for a big old barge. The double wishbone front/multilink rear works really well. You'd be hard pressed to tell it has 18" alloys too. The Civic was too firm for me really on coilovers, tho we did eventually get it almost bearable. Long trips to Belgium were easy but the GS covers the miles in style. Cobbled roads aren't avoided anymore. I know what you mean about fun tho, I had some great fast drives over the Peaks in the Honda. The Accord Type R brakes were epic on the smaller car.
  16. Hmmm, good point about the GS - very observant! I miss the Honda a teenie bit but don't miss spannerin' (out of choice, to mod/improve). Correct, the Lexus is fantabulous in every way. Comfort and oodles of power on tap is very nice!!! I like the quiet, sleeper style of the GS too. I clocked a CW FN2 at lunchtime and took a moment to take it on properly. Do you miss yours?
  17. I'm the same pal and research to the 9th degree (mostly).
  18. Ooh, yeah that's a big'un. Thanks for the link, quick fitting is handy. As is a double opener. Haha, 'roofbox geek'. But you've gotta do the research right.
  19. Wow, you managed to polish that bumper and get those results... impressive. The remaining wheel wobble may be due to a badly balanced other wheel?
  20. Have you figured out where the water is coming from? Smelling of anti freeze suggests it's not likely to be a sun roof leak (if you have one).
  21. That looks like a pretty big box, how many litres capacity is it? I'm tempted to get one but may go narrower so that I can get my bike alongside.
  22. Flux Rescue is also worth a look. At renewal time I'll be considering Nationwide.
  23. Welcome to the forum Adam. What is drawing you and your buddy to the IS220d? A quick scan found a few related threads on this topic, here's a few for you to peruse...
