  1. Rumours aren't renowned for their accuracy...
  2. That'll be why your down on power then. Isn't it fairly obvious? - you should have two large bore, open ended alloy pipes that the flexi hose interconnects between. Let me see if I can get a schematic...
  3. Peter, how is your mileage split between highway and town use? From reading the experience of other IS220D owners then say 6th gear is pretty useless in the UK. Instead they hold in 5th on the highway to get heat in the DPF which helps keep it from clogging up. Good luck getting this sorted.
  4. Interesting, I'll ensure I punch in my memory position before I re-try my mirrors.
  5. Thanks for the input Alex, interesting to hear that you're leaning away from Beemers. Hopefully the Lexus won't leave you stranded. I've heard many complain about DSG boxes after they've used them for a while especially when parking. It's a shame as initially they seem really slick. They're costly to fix too. Great pic's btw, thanks for sharing.
  6. John, before reinstalling are you going to install a new seal on the sensor? The low torque setting is a pain and over time has the seals leaking. I see that you can buy TPMS seal kits, I wonder if the seal can be sourced separately from somewhere?
  7. Hmmm, lubing the joints won't help if it's the motors themselves that aren't 100%. @Chris111 sure, if I have a bash at lubing then I'll report back.
  8. A crackin' write up John, thanks for sharing. Your car looks very smart and is a credit to you You're right that the build log is helpful to keep track of when you did what. It's also useful to look back and see how the car has evolved. Looking forward to future updates.
  9. Well done @Neil E, I never saw your original thread so have enjoyed reading through the build here The body kit is subtle and in keeping with the car. I love the gills front and rear. Looking forward to seeing more progress/paint and whatever you have in store for us next...
  10. My OS mirror doesn't seem to reset back fully either, so I'll give try manually running through the full range of motion. Is it because the mirror joints get a bit dry over time, so popping off the mirrors and lighting lubing may help?
  11. Wow, that radiator core was REALLY clogged up. It looks like fur/hair, grass and dust? No wonder the engine was struggling to keep cool. Well done fixing the issue.
  12. Yup, it also has a slot per roof bar and a pocket for your bits'n'bobets. Snap.
  13. Excellent, it looks like the same thick, durable fabric as mine [emoji106]
  14. Hi Alex / @goodfella1, welcome to the forum. Sounds like a nice car, do you have any pic's? What were you driving previously? Meanwhile enjoy the smooth v6.
  15. Brilliant John / @Britprius, what a great 'mod' Let us know how the final solution works. It makes me wish I'd kept and dissected the one my tyre fitter broke earlier this year. The GS is the first car I've had with TPMS and I never gave it another thought. I completely agree about the battery compartment. I wonder if they're sealed to be more robust over a wider variety of conditions?
  16. James / @Boddney hehe, they're clever aren't they Someone will eventually try and drive into it with the door closed tho...
  17. Hi Brian, welcome to the forum. Well done snagging yourself what looks to be a great IS. It's already been said but I'll also chime in with...'drive it and enjoy it'.
  18. Thanks...but I'm sure Paul meant you Tim, it's your thread.
  19. Welcome to the forum Timothy. Your GS looks great and I'm sure it'll be an improvement over the Juke. The mpg might be lower but all things considered I know where I'd rather sit May I ask what drew you to this particular GS?
  20. Russell / @Rusty Crobar, what's with the car on the trailer?
  21. Nice one John, the wireless option should prove very useful. Soldering on a PCB the size of 5p sounds grim, so well done.
