  1. I've not been down there much either, our team is smaller now so no real need. I still get to Mattfest when I can, it's good to catch up with the lads. Yeah it would be good to meet up with some fellow LOC members. I'm going to try and get down to the August meet at the AV8 cafe.
  2. @dougie175 we really must arrange a get together. You're welcome to test drive my GS and fold tarmac/time! Let me know the next time you are down at HQ...
  3. Maybe it's the Lexus badge that gets respect from most other road users? Our Germanic 'chums' excluded ofcourse! An estate GS conversion! Haha, how long a wheelbase would that be! #epic
  4. Powah, did I mention the grunt #devil
  5. Back lanes aren't great but then I'm a considerate driver. Unlike many others that don't even bother lifting! Grrr Agreed, I was impressed with the quality in an IS I test drove (years back) but the GS does seem to be a notch up.
  6. What was this thread about again! [emoji6]
  7. I think your right about the grill looking more upmarket. Finding one has been tricky but I haven't looked that hard to be honest. The GS certainly has a 'presence', folks don't cut me up when I get the hammer down. I reckon they look in their mirror and see an eclipse bearing down on them at warp speed! LOL
  8. Oddly the GS doesn't feel like a big car on the move. Cabin space is great with plenty of room to stretch out. But as you say, the boot space isn't great. The 4th gen GS has a bigger boot tho #bonus
  9. Grill that I fancy
  10. Hi Rob /@dougie175, thanks. A video, crumbs that's pushing it a bit pal. Will see what I can do but don't hold your breath. The GS isnt like a car in the regular sense, it's more of a limo! Parking spaces are challenging, especially the length. Haha to 'money burner' aka 'ankle biter'! Brace yourself pal, brace yourself [emoji23] Future upgrades? That's a toughie as I chose a Lexus to limit my spanner time so that I can focus on other projects. I have a long time build lurking in the garage... But never say never, right [emoji6] I do like the late grill and may get a few other jobs sorted, stay tuned.

  12. HID bulbs/lamps don't need to be reset anymore than non HID's. You can swap HID bulbs over just like non HID. Take the same precautions e.g. don't touch the bulb, wear gloves, etc. If any adjustments are needed afterwards, then it's no different for HID's. The lamp housings are pretty much the same. It's good practice to mark a wall or garage with the level first but not essential. Some HID backing plates can be more of a pain to open as they often don't just twist. Some are fixed with Torx bolts, presumably as the voltages are higher. But only when the lights are switched on, so perfectly safe to DIY proved the ignition and lights are OFF. Don't buy cheap Chinese bulbs as they don't cope well with large temperature ranges or humidity. You pays your money, you make your choice as they say.
  13. Sounds like you're a convert then. I can't blame you, even MrsF is now thinking that a Lexus might be nice for her. When her beloved V-dub get too long in the tooth. I quote 'I could get used to this...lazy driving' LOL
  14. Thanks John, much appreciated. Close up the paint work ain't great in places but considering it's getting on a bit, it ain't too bad. I've had no regrets and everyone that's ridden it, finds it a very nice place to be. It's also nice to be able to easily chat with folks front/back without SHOUTING, unlike many cars. They come with lots of toys too, which is always a bonus. How long have you had your IS 250 F-Sport?
  15. Yup, buying used can be a minefield, I got burned a bit with mine but surprisingly for support from the car dealer. So not all bad. I'm used to the steering now but it does seem to need a fair bit of concentration. Will let you know if tracking sorts it. Oh gawd, a smokers car eh. I wish you all the very luck with that grotty job. Hopefully it'll come up like new as the interiors seem to hold up well.
  16. Thanks. Unfortuantely I'm on-call for the entire month of August (don't ask) so I won't know for sure about any work commitments until nearer the time. However I've added it to my calendar and if I get a 'pass' then I'll come prop up the old banger corner. Would be nice to dribble over all those v8's
  17. Hi Ken, welcome back and with a black GS 450H too eh...nice, tho I maybe a bit biased. No clunks here, is everything nailed down in the boot? Might sound obvious but defo worth checking as it's easy to check and might save you skinning your knuckles. Mine is a bit twitchy at the front and as the car seems fine otherwise I aim to get the tracking checked and add a bit more toe in up front. Regarding the ride, I quite like it but then I came from an overly stiff set-up on my last steed. Does the Sport button firm up your dampers at all? - it may take a few sec's to kick in if you press it whilst driving. Watch the throttle 'boost' too! Looking forward to seeing pic's of this bargain you found... Cheers, Lee
  18. @Big RatPhew, that's okay then. Thanks for clarifying. Though I did wonder if dognuts/similar could have overloaded the steering rack too. Sugar shakes maybe? If Lexus can't handle sugar loading, then I'd be doomed!
  19. Somewhat staged but still worth a peek
  20. I quite fancy the 2010 grill Mark / @lockeyboy, what plans do you have in mind?
