  1. Crumbs that's a hefty estimate! Get the the work checked/done at a trusted, local garage. Crumbs, a slight leak can't cost £1500+ to sort out. If a general garage can't fix the zoorst, then try an exhaust specialist. I got brand new middle AND rear SS sections for less than half of your zoorst estimate. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
  2. That's a good looking colour on your RX, well found and welcome back
  3. Tis indeed a very nice colour and would be one of my first choices. According to this reference, it became available in 2016 not before; http://www.toyotareference.com/lexusgs
  4. I wouldn't fret about the paint on the slam panel as it's covered by the beautification plastic, so isn't visible. Good to have some rust protection on there and shows someone was taking care of the car.
  5. I've seen a few FS that claim to run on the later Windows OS. I recall they were about £40 instead of £20 for the XP era option, will take another look...
  6. Now then, an online manual I have to hand states that DRL's run off of the headlights at reduced intensity - extract; "Daytime running light system To make your vehicle more visible to other drivers, the headlights turn on automatically (at a reduced intensity) whenever the hybrid system is started and the parking brake is released. Daytime running lights are not designed for use at night." That's not the way my car work, so I read on...and it's a programmable option from the dealer. Has anyone else set this within their Techstream / via a dealer to get DLR headlights enabled on their GS? Automatic light control system, Daytime running light ON OFF* If this work on UK cars, then it looks like another reason to grab my own Techstream (the other being the preset number of indicator flashes when changing lanes).
  7. Hey Alex, that looks good and pretty clean now, well done. Do you have a grungy before pic? What cleaning products did you use? Cheers, Lee
  8. Ah okay, will keep it in mind. Thanks for the offer tho. I might keep this on the back burner as a winter project.
  9. Is the hydro dipped finish durable? How are yours holding up?
  10. Interesting, why'd he stop? I presume he's up your way and not local to moi? Or maybe I could source some different coloured trim, there's a darker factory option...
  11. Dang, you've guessed what my 'long term' project is already! So to keep up with the in crowd I need to dip my bits...rightyo, duly noted. I wouldn't mind you know, I've been watching trim sets in eBay for a while How much do you reckon it'd be (roughly) to dip the 4 door trims and the center console?
  12. Yes, I was tempted initially to do something with the wooden trim. But you know what, I've quite grown to like it ! Pass me my slippers would you...
  13. Ah yes good idea, it would brighten up the acres of black plastic beautification/acustic panels.
  14. Some great pic's there, very nicely done
  15. @lockeyboy, i guess you'll be keen to hydro dip the wooden interior bits'n'bobets? I quite fancy a set of DRL's but can't find any aftermarket options that I like/look OEM. I thought I saw an LED DRL/fog light option in Japan yesterday but I can't seem to find it today
  16. Just arrived, keen to give them a try
  17. Excellent, let us know if they're an improvement. Up-rated rams on a hatchback can give a serious upper cut if you're not careful That's not likely on our small trunks tho eh, unless you're vertically challenged
  18. Good question, I also find the range of suppliers offered by Rockauto bewildering. So it'd be useful if someone had a guide/rule of thumb. I've never ordering anything from them yet either, so would be good to get to grips with it before I place an order. Update: just found this on their website; http://www.rockauto.com/help/?page=2#WHATDIFF, so they group products into Economy, Premium, etc. Looking at each parts Info screen I can see warranty levels, so that's an additional help. Seems like I just need to get familiar with their website...
  19. Take a peek here; Are your rotors badly scored/worn and/or rusty?
