  1. Well done chaps, these LS's seem to weather well
  2. A complete lack of spacial awareness means folks are oblivious of other road users. That and driving whilst looking at their 'smart' phone/social media/etc
  3. Occasional heavy braking will help to keep rear disks clean for sure. They aren't used much due to the big front disks and regen on the rear axle. I've also found that the brakes can vibrate a bit if you don't stand on them regularly. Initially I wasn't using much force and thought the disks were warped but after the MOT the brakes were fine and not all all snatch-y. So I think the pads leave material on the disks e.g. when stopped in traffic with your foot on the brake/car in drive and if this material isn't forced off occasionally it then causes the brakes to snatch a bit as it catches the pad material left on the disk. I guess I may have a poor set of pads fitted that exacerbates this and would like to what others think.
  4. Hi Geoff, eBay? - several dealers have outlets on there e.g. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Lexus-Birmingham-Parts
  5. It's definitely worth taking the time to prep/clean and paint parts - these now look soooo much better, well done
  6. Yes, I was able to work around the muffler with either a spanner or a socket. I may have jacked the car up a smidge to gain a bit more elbow room. But you should be able to check out the job without raising the car. It's definitely worth a quick look to see if you can DIY.
  7. My rear heat shields are secured to stud's fixed into the floor. With washers and nuts to hold the shields in place. Adding a larger penny washer did the trick for me (the shield had corroded around the fixings).
  8. Ditto, it sounds like you had a great time and travelled in comfort [emoji106] I'm contemplating a trip this summer maybe heading to lake Como and then back to Belgium via Austria, etc. Haven't really nailed it down yet.
  9. It should look much better after a clean, any product will improve that.
  10. Grant / @grantwils, well done and let us know what it's like when you collect. Do you have a link to the ad?
  11. That reg# is for the same vehicle in the MOT history checker - OSF shock was leaking in Oct'17. Annual mileage year on year varies quite a bit, suggesting change of ownership? Have you actually seen the car?
  12. Indeedy, slowing the electrickery and/or early signs of a tired battery.
  13. Damn, that engine note never gets old Good vid, thanks for sharing Dan @NothernDan The guys garage is...dope!
  14. We're off to Belgium again in a few months but will be travelling 4 up this time and will need more luggage space. Previously it's usually just the mrs and I that go 'on tour' and we simply use the back seat as overflow of stuff that won't fit in the boot. I already have roof bars which are 920mm wide, 700mm center to center, with a 60 x 30mm semi aero bar profile. I'm tempted by either of these from Hapro; Traxer 6.6, left/right opener, 5yr guarantee, longer/narrow/lower profile - https://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4_tab.php?HP25908 Roady 4000, left opener, 3yr guarantee, shorter/wider - https://www.roofbox.co.uk/scripts/rbvehsel4_tab.php?HP31560 Both have quick fittings which appeals as I aim to use a bike carrier on the bars more often, so will swap carrier/box back and forth. I did wonder about a really long and narrow box so I could fit both on the rack at once, but I'm not sure I'll use them both together. I'm currently thinking of getting a fairly wide box for a good capacity boost as the boot is a mere 280 liters. To simplify loading/unloading with a luggage set - I know Rob was planning on getting some and I thought there were a practical option back then; Box storage isn't a problem as I've space in the garage to hang from the rafters and maybe even use it for storing bits/bobs. The lighter boxes appear to be cheaper and less robust, so I'm looking for something that's a good all rounder and not too pricey. Do you have any thoughts or experience of boxes, fitting systems, storage, usage, etc? Or maybe I should just get the 'luggage' and hire a box when we need it?
  15. What a fantastic shot of the car
  16. Tristan @australianstan my Sport button makes the engine much keener to engage and pulls harder. The odd thing is if you change the mode whilst driving, that it can take a few seconds to feel the change through the throttle.
  17. According to the manual the PWR setting is for hilly/mountainous areas. Have you tried the Sport button yet?
  18. Good to hear that you're enjoying the car, long may it continue. The reversing mirrors dipping is configurable and I recently had to reset mine after disconnecting the 12v boot battery. With the ignition on, foot on brake enable a mirror, select reverse, set the mirrors reverse position, on the driver's door press set and the digit required. Repeat for the other mirror. If you can't get the mirrors reversing memory to set on your preferred seat/wheel position saved number, then try on the 3rd setting - provided that's not already used by another driver. Then when you want to reverse, press digit 3 to drop the mirror(s) and then reverse. Once parked, you'll then need to press your default driver number to raise the mirrors. Good luck.
  19. Oh dear it doesn't sound good that she was bullied, especially when she was shaken/vulnerable. I don't suppose she had a dashcam fitted? Video evidence would have clearly over ruled any false statements. Good luck.
  20. Hi William, sounds like you're having a tough time of it there. Whacky windows are quite typical after the 12v has been disconnected or run down on your case. Try a reset'g all the windows - ignition on/engine off, at each door/window panel, fully lower and fully raise each window. Lower/lift each switch until the winder motor cuts out, you may need to hold the switch a few secs after the window moves to its final position. I hope this helps, good luck.
  21. What a great looking car, well done and enjoy it.
  22. Oh wow, that sounds perfect - well done
