  1. I finally managed to coordinate a few hours free time with some decent weather so decided to do an oil and filter change. The 10k reminder popped up a week or so ago. I took my time as it's the first I've done on this car but had no issues at all. Apart from working on a gravel drive Would have liked to spend a bit more time on a couple of other tasks but they can wait. The oil filter tool I bought a while back fitted a treat, ref; https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/272769658694 Will see how the car goes on Toyota 0W20 oil, the stealers invoice shows Mobil Super 3000 was put in last year.
  2. It's not a problem Malcolm, I knew the non Hybrid boot was considerably larger as I mulled over it's lugging ability when I chose my GS. This topic inspired me to look into towbar options again for the GS450H and I found a few online suppliers that appear to be much cheaper than the £800 to £1.3k I've seen quote from stealers on here
  3. Parker's shows the GS 300 boot at 430 litres and the GS 450H at 280 litres. With the Hybrid's battery pack taking up most of the space behind the rear seats. But they don't half pack a punch [emoji14] https://www.parkers.co.uk/lexus/gs/saloon-2005/specs/
  4. I never got contact transfers to work, I tried several apps (Android) and guides but gave up. It's only an issue when trying to call someone, so I punched in a few key contacts into the shortcuts.
  5. Well done Phil, it looks like you've found yourself a stunning example.
  6. @MNMJ, what a great reg !
  7. Crumbs, that snail is huge! Sorry to hear your deliveries weren't a success tho #painful
  8. Cumbs, is the car parked in the countryside? My wife's Golf suffered a similar fate with vermin nibbling the engine bay fabrics; battery cover and several patches on the bonnet lining. Grrrr. As far as we can tell, it occurred when parked at work out in't sticks. Over winter they also often had signs of 'visitors' in the 'offices' aka porta cabins. Thankfully she no longer works there. Might your fibers also be from the bonnet lining/sound deadening? Oh and well done making maintenance checks.
  9. Hi Scott @Troysc04, welcome to the forum. Well done picking up your IS250, 'it' looks great. I particularly like the alloys, they're G-Sypders right?
  10. My apologies on the gender fail A curious spec then eh, weird.
  11. Hey Geoff, did you get your car booked in at CCUK?
  12. Ah so she needs some TLC, fixing that'll keep you out of trouble ;) I agree, my heated seats aren't as effective as previous cars. But they weren't Hybrids either and I presume the seats work at lower temps to reduce the electrical drain? I've not tried another GS to compare with either tho. The sideways headlight movement is very subtle, a bit of a gimmick IMO.
  13. Hey Grant, good to hear that you picked it up and she got you home okay. Is it what you expected? Will be keen to hear how you get on with it over the next few weeks as you settle in together ;)
  14. @Big Rat, thats gruesome to watch over the speed humps let alone the tactics employed by them both.
  15. Well done, that's a great colour [emoji106]
  16. Well done. I fitted LED's on my last car and the interior was so bright at night that you almost needed sunglasses
  17. Real world figures for the GS430 in the UK http://www.fuelly.com/car/lexus/gs430 Although once you drill into the figures, the users are US based Can see any stat's for the GS430 on Honest John
  18. I would think so, although how much depends on the charge in the traction battery. Comments from others confirm that the throttle is more sensitive in those settings, ref;
  19. Whilst browsing Autotrader last night I stumbled across this GS 450H that has a great registration... https://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201801092598149?make=LEXUS%26model=GS 450H It has quite low mileage too for it's age. I have no affiliation with the vendor or vehicle, just thought I'd share.
  20. Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear that your heating isn't working. Did you buy the vehicle from a dealer/trader? If so, then they should repair the fault - unless the car was sold with that as a known issue and the price adjusted accordingly?
  21. Wow what a find, you did snag yourself a bargain.
  22. No feedback? Since asking around several folks have offered to loan me their boxes, after which we'll then have a better understanding if we should buy our own. Looking at vehicle and box heights, I doubt we'll be under the 1.85m height limit for standard carriages on the Eurotunnel. Has anyone found the high carriages any worse, less frequent than std carriages? From what I can find a train has a mix of carriages but I've only ever seen/used the std carriages. Do Eurotunnel load high vehicles before or after std height vehicles?
  23. Yeah the colder temps do bring down the mpg somewhat. Over the year I've average 35mpg and see a slight drop now that it's consistently colder. I live in the sticks and have a good few miles to travel, so mine pretty much gets warmed through each time she's fired up. Try reset'g yours at the start of a longer, steady drive and the mpg's should increase.
