  1. Good eh Brian, I've found the same with RockAuto/Fedex vs our local dealer.
  2. An indi list is being compiled by John, see here and you may find one local to you

  4. Joe, they are both at the front of the engine on the outside of each cylinder head. Locate the vvt solenoids and work out/down to the hard oil feed pipe with a large center bolt. This bolt is hollow and houses a filter. More info here (for an RX but gives you an idea) https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-1st-gen-1999-2003/662865-vvt-solenoid-ocv-replacement-diy.html#post7575578
  5. Yikes, yesterday wouldn't be soon enough ! Who serviced your vehicle last and scrimped on changing it ?
  6. Hi' welcome to the forum. Has your vehicle had all the recall work done? 2004-6 vehicles maybe affected with a soldering issue that can light up the dash. You can check if your vehicle had had this work done on the Lexus website 😉 More info; https://blog.lexus.co.uk/lexus-announces-voluntary-recall-of-rx-400h-in-the-uk/
  7. Hi Ashley, As Chris mentions, I'd check each of the cam oil feed filters (one per bank) which shouldn't take too long. I did find getting the NS one out what quite tricky as there isn't much clearance. So maybe start on the OS and see what condition that one is in before deciding if it's worth checking the other. Mine were both spotless at 130k. Good luck and keep us posted. Cheers, Lee
  8. Hi Steve, there is plenty of room at the front of the engine so I doubt it will be an awkward job. Check this video for a quick how-to to at least it gives you an idea, skip to 5mins in for the actual swap. Good luck. Cheers, Lee
  9. Ah, some tasty motors in there 👍 Will be interested to hear your thought on the GS after owning it for a few months, once the initial new car 😍 passes.
  10. Looks great Ahmed and Paul, well done Changing those trims certainly makes a big improvement and I'm very tempted to get mine done. On sunny days, when the sun is at the wrong angle....the chrome gear surround often dazzles the front occupants. So I'd definitely like to dull that area down/out.
  11. Ah, here's a recent news report; https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-northamptonshire-53006214 I doubt they'll last long as we now have great set-ups at home with movies on demand. Plus the fridge is nearby to satisfy any cravings 😋
  12. It's good to hear that you are enjoying your smart GS, what cars have you owned previously?
  13. Hi Mike, I think you are right and that it will flatten your battery unless you have the engine running. Many cars these days seem to struggle running their radios/etc, Civic's are definitely prone to it. It's interesting that it took a brief (hopefully) pandemic and quarantine for someone to think a drive in cinema was a good idea. I know that there were plenty in the USA years ago but now and did the UK ever have any?
  14. Good catch on the grill, I hadn't clocked that properly on my phone last night. I'll let you know if I find one as I'm often browsing for bits.
  15. Yeah, aftermarket parts are scarce for Lexus From the year, I think there's a facelift bumper on eBay but complete with grill and fog lights...so it's expensive at £500+ https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254234198690
  16. Hi Philip, I would give Lexus Parts Direct a call and they'll be able to tell you what you need from your VIN/reg#. Online they list this but it shows a generic date range; https://www.lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/parts/lexus-gs/lexus-gs-phase-iii-2005-2012/lexus-gs-3-exterior-interior/lexus-gs-phase-3-front-bumper/ Has yours been damaged? Good luck and let us know how you get on. Cheers, Lee
  17. It's up to you if you put credit in the dealers abilities and both are being sold by dealers. I would also take a close look at the condition as not all owners treat vehicles the same. Online ads are a great guide but you really need to see the vehicles in person to make a judgement. If the face lift worth the extra premium to you? If may/may not give you back a few £'s when you sell if on later (unless you intend to keep it).
  18. RA expidited includes a VAT payment at source (read Steve's reply) and if selected are delivered to you pronto, as I've found on numerous occasions. If a RA shipment is sat in customs, then I suspect snail mail was selected. Any orders from Japan always seem to sit in customs and then get hit with fees.
  19. Spy, I'd say that maintenance is key rather than age/mileage (within reason) so check on each vehicles service history or MOT's as they will give you a good idea of the level of care a vehicle has received.
  20. Tony your local garage are probably only referring you to the dealer as Lexus parts are often difficult to source and often cannot be supplied by local auto factors. If I were you then I would check the RockAuto site for your model/year, obtain the part number and then see what parts you can find online. Orders from RA often come through surprisingly quick and often are cheaper that parts supplied locally. Changing out the condensor is not a tricky job but regas'g will need specialist kit that most garages have these days. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
  21. I agree Steve and I've had stuff arrive from RockAuto quicker than our local dealer can source parts! I suspect expedited shipping was not selected here
  22. Well done fixing this yourself, Lexus do seem prone to leaking water pumps although usually at higher mileages/years. Fingers crossed that the replacement holds up.
  23. That's unusual as Rockauto deliveries usually come straight through customs, at least in my experience...I typically select one of the Fedex options. What postage option did you select Mike? When placing the order do you remember seeing a customs/import charge pop up? - I've only seen this a few times and haven't figured out the reason why.
