  1. So the bigger IS350 calipers also clear the OEM IS300 alloys?
  2. Wow they were cheap, well found. I've never heard of the make, are they a budget product from one of the big players? I see they are rated B for both fuel and wet weather categories, 72dB is a bit high tho. Do you know what noise rating were your old tyres were?
  3. I've used the Will They Fit online facility before and while it checked overall wheel diameter/speedo and wheel/tyre placement from the center line of the vehicle/strut clearance I don't recall it covering caliper clearance. Do any of the other online 'checkers' cover this?
  4. If you're worried about the water pump before buying a car, then maybe you should shake in your boots...as it has 2 pumps! (being a hybrid). [emoji23]
  5. Dang, so it's in the fine print. Well spotted. I have seen it if it were shown in pictures! Hehe Should be easier to see on my PC, later #specsavers
  6. No mention of engine removal here http://workshop-manuals.com/lexus/rx_450h_fwd/v6-3.5l_(2gr-fxe)_hybrid/engine_cooling_and_exhaust/cooling_system/auxiliary_water_pump/component_information/locations/ *link updated* Kinda struggling to find info from my phone tho.
  7. £1,200 to £1,800 is surely dealer pricing and much higher than an indi would charge. Or DIY as the parts are cheap, see the Rock Auto site, etc
  8. Be very careful leaving auto wipers ON in winter as some vehicles are known blow ECU's not just fuses. Which is bonkers as the fuses should protect the electronics.
  9. What a good colour combo and it looks to be in great condition too. Well done and enjoy.
  10. Servicing plans; https://www.tesla.com/en_GB/support/maintenance-plans
  11. A long term review is very insightful and I appreciate you taking the time to pen your experiences. Did anything break? I see lots of vid's on folks having issues with their Tesla's and have my own concerns about a new company offering new products to the market that are high tech and costly. High Purchase, Servicing and Insurance costs are big negatives.
  12. @BarneyTT, that's a useful video so thanks for linking. The use of furniture pads is not a solution I'd seen before.
  13. Shift lock allows the gear selector to be moved when the ignition is off. Why? for towing and/or pushing the car around (if that's your thing!). It also allows the shifter to be moved when removing the center console.
  14. Welcome to the forum Tony and well done sourcing yourself an IS250, they have a good rating amongst owners. Will be checking back to see pics
  15. I hadn't seen/read anything about that, in the UK right? - off to Google it... Last year we found out that several cities on the continent e.g Antwerp had implemented low emission zones (LEZ) to restrict traffic. We easily managed to register the big 3.5l Hybrid and get an exemption, which seems bonkers. Oh and yes, it made me especially as I bought the Lexus after selling my 2.2 derv which wouldn't be allowed there.
  16. Crumbs, RockAuto has various options in the range of £40 - £100. Maybe use these part numbers to source from a local supplier? Or check with your local auto-factor.
  17. Excellent news John, all credit goes to you. How many miles have yours clocked up? - I hope you don't mind me asking.
  18. Well found, low mileage and looks in good nick. Are the alloys all okay, no bubbling?
  19. Why would dealers grease a couple of pins annually when they can leave them (less effort) AND get paid to replace the entire caliper (unnecessarily). Do dealers actually replace the caliper or just clean it up/release the pins and charge for a new caliper?
  20. It does seem odd, although mine is a slightly different engine. Has your car been outside the dealer network for a while/changed owner/address or something?
  21. Apparently mine was done back in Jan'15, a couple of years before I acquired the vehicle. I only found out a few days ago, at www.lexus.co.uk/my-lexus
  22. Well found, I do like a thrifty fix.
