  1. I got one replaced by a mobile tyre fitter, has been fine since. Shop around and the sensors can be had for £60ea fitted, or £40 for the sensor. If your tyres aren't holding air then you might try to nip up your current sensors. But beware that they do not need lots of torque and trying to tighten them may mean they definitely need replacing, tis a bit of a gamble but as yours are original then you don't have much to loose.
  2. If the sensors are original from '05 then the batteries are probably low on juice now. If you have access to Techstream then this can interrogate the TPMS battery levels. It is possible to replace the TPMS batteries DIY, there's a guide on the forum somewhere. Otherwise check around tyre shops for replacements, there's no need to go to the dealership, although that choice is yours to make. Good luck getting it sorted.
  3. Welcome to the forum Paul, sounds like you've sourced a good car that I'm sure we'd love to see if you can get any pic's online for us?
  4. Interesting, registered to you or a previous owner? Or just a big in the app/service?
  5. Yes, take a peek here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.mylexus.lexus.com.mylexus
  6. Oooh that's too much for a daily. Unless you're royalty...
  7. It does seem to ride a bit better over the bumps and seems more compliant but as you say it could be a placebo/feel good factor. It sits better, so I'm happy.
  8. Good point about the 12v battery. Yes, the suspension settled quite a bit after the initial measurements. After the car had been on the stands for a couple of days, with the spacers fitted when I dropped it back to the ground the rears measured 390mm! That's some 40mm / 2"s higher than it sits now, which got me worried for moment but it soon settled after a test drive. Phew!
  9. I reckon your right with the new Crown Phil @The-Acre, the renderings look pretty good
  10. Update: the new arch measurements have improved with an overall lift to the rear and interestingly the fronts are now down a smidge. So the higher rear is transferring more weight to the front, so that should help with the ride/steering. FL 359 / 352 / 358mm FR 357/ 356 / 355mm RL 345 / 351 / 348mm RR 361 / 355 / 357mm The middle 1st and 3rd measurements were taken on my drive and I don't think it's as level as it appears, as the NSR seems to be under more compression. Measurements can vary quite a quite on a single arch, I've tried to measure the car on level ground especially when out/about. I guess there's some stiction in the bushes/dampers that prevent completely free suspension movement and settling. After all It's bushed and not rose jointed suspension. After 100+ miles driving on Sunday, the three OSR shock tower bolts had worked loose and started creakin'. I didn't over tighten them as I didn't want to compress the tower spacers to much. They were easy to nip back up and I'll recheck them in a few hundred miles or so (or earlier if the creak returns). Thank gawd I fixed all the other boot rattles otherwise I might not have heard these!
  11. Excellent. Wow, that's very generous of you!
  12. Alan @Ala Larj, try this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=app.mylexus.lexus.com.mylexus
  13. Good to hear that Hedge End looked after you through all those years tho.
  14. Lexus Lincoln can't tell if shox's leak and neither the deputy nor the service manager care if you query their 'master technicians' results. I've only used their parts dept since, for large items that were costly to ship from afar. This was the first and only Lexus dealership I've used and I had high hopes...
  15. With our matching spring lengths, I agree John. The spring isolators were quite compressed, so renewing the pair each side would help. But I doubt they'd give me the missing 30mm. The OS had a seriously rusted low damper bolt, it was extremely tight to remove and needed a good ream out. So it's good they've all been cleaned/lubed after all these years. Here's some pics of the spacers being cut down
  16. Sorted. 19mm spacer boosts the rear approx 30mm. I'll let it settle and take a few months re measurements.
  17. @Britprius, nice one. Mine are the same measurement
  18. Reusing the OEM struts is really neat, well done
  19. Yes, I'll remeasure the spacers before they go on then take several arch readings - after the suspension settles/etc. I ended up cutting the spacers down myself with a recip saw and flap wheel on the grinder, so I now have one set at approx 18mm and another set at 10mm (ish). A local machine shop weren't confident that they'd be able to cut them down without ruining them.
  20. John / @Britprius, thanks for the info on the damper weld. I'm also not overly concerned about the spring, it's had some treatment and will get a quick lick of paint before re-fitting. Stay tuned for an update once the 'spaced' struts are reinstalled...
  21. Really? - the lower seats can be removed with a 'gentle tap from a mallet'? So just an interference fit. Well found by the way, I hadn't noticed they're not welded.
  22. I would like to fix it and not have to wrestle the bolts anymore but new springs are circa £500 a pair from Lexus. Although I can source them much cheaper overseas even with shipping/duty, so I may get some ordered - they'll just take a while to arrive. The other issue I have with buying new springs is that the rear may still be low, due to fitting to tow bar. If I shell out £500 and it's still low then I ain't gonna be a happy camper, I don't like flushing my hard earned away. OEM dampers are also known to leak so I found myself looking at some TEIN coil overs earlier this week, they do a street/comfort range that have an appealing price. I just don't want to ruin the ride quality as the local roads are poor. So in the meantime, I'll be refitting the OEM kit with some spacers and see how we get on.
  23. Mike, in the pic you can see the spring powder coating is cracked and I'm not pulling it off to check any further at this point.
  24. Apparently he's 6' 3" - https://everipedia.org/wiki/doug-demmuro/
  25. Welcome to the forum and Lexus ownership Josh. It sounds like you've sourced yourself a car in good condition - any chance you could get some pic's online for us? Fingers crossed the low mileage doesn't turn anything up, hopefully a fresh set of fluids should see it in tip top condition. Good luck and keep us posted.
