  1. What mobile phone do you use, iPhone or Android? An OBDII reader is likely to give you the majority of the codes. Typically the more you spend, the more ECU's can be read. If you have a local indi they maybe able to read the codes for you
  2. Why did you unhook the battery for the MOT? Maybe the power off/on tripped something?
  3. Well done clearing the Xmas tree dash lights, that's a neat trick. Well found. You should get the stored codes read to see what tripped the lights. Then clear all codes and hope the lights behave. If they don't, then re read the codes and get an accurate fault list. Good luck and fingers crossed.
  4. I'm at my PC now and on a bigger screen the car has clearly had a rough time. Trim missing, hanging off, corner scrapes and dings and they've tried to keep the angle low to hide the missing roof lacquer. Sad.
  5. Oh dear, is that a bad wrap on the roof?
  6. Wow John, your annual fee is low.
  7. John, for such a meager increases I can see why you stayed put and saved yourself the hassle of calling around. I was also with Saga last year and their renewal increased just £8 this year. I was tempted to simply renew but felt I had to check elsewhere. After seeing folks using Chris Knott I gave them a call and like for like, their premium was £47 cheaper [emoji106] Once signed up they did need more paperwork tho [emoji848] I hate the process of re insuring each year.
  8. I doubt they'll sell many in that colour
  9. A fairly interesting video from MrMarmite...that has some content relevant to the LOC. Your thoughts folks?

  10. A pal and I have used various Bilt Hamber products with good results, check them out.
  11. Apparently it's from Asian mythology and represents the Imperial House of Japan. But an American looking at it, will no doubt think of Colonel Sanders!
  12. Doug found some real oddities with this one...
  13. Do you know that the original disks were actually warped? Were they checked for run out and once removed from the vehicle were they placed on a flat surface and seen/measured to be warped?
  14. I don't recall seeing this 'news' from last week being posted on here - "Lexus Tells Us It Will Keep The GS And GS F" - at least for now... Apologies if it's linked elsewhere on the forum. https://carbuzz.com/news/lexus-tells-us-it-will-keep-the-gs-and-gs-f
  15. Well done, how did you fix it?
  16. Gawd, glad to hear that nobody was injured. Tsk, the truck driver shouldn't be relying on tech aids. Nobody should! I hope your insurance claim goes through quickly and with minimal hassle.
  17. @Herbie, thanks for the video as I hadn't seen/heard of Aukey before and they maybe an option for the wife's wagon (she'd like dashcam's but doesn't want to shell out too much). They're neat and slimline too unlike many of the other cheaper options I've seen
  18. Although i don't do much pure town driving I would say that i'd get 30mpg and over 2 years I've averaged 35mpg mixed driving (tank to tank based). The mk3 GS450h benefits from just a little stop start and if you can keep rolling then all for the better. The battery isn't capable of pure EV mode for long and works best assisting you. Recently i've been experimenting with steady cruise speeds and find 65-70 yields a fairly constant combustion cycle around 37mpg (ish). Whereas driving slightly faster means lifting off more and overall gives a better mpg. I've tried this over numerous trips rather than just noticing it once. I really need to get the Hydrid Assistant app running again and get a few more hrs experience with it to see if that helps to show how the systems work best together.
  19. Did the dealer check disk run out using a dial gauge? If your disks/pads are well worn then they're definitely worth changing but don't be surprised if the judder eventually returns (due to pad build-up).
  20. You're right, the rear disks/drums have adjusters that can be tweaked with a screw driver/similar. If i were you, then i'd be checking these first. While the wheels are removed, you should also also pop off the rear drums and check how much material are left on the drum pads.
  21. Nice write up that and well done for giving it a go yourself. I had reservations about the rear blind too but in practice fitting the rear camera is a doddle.
  22. Disappointingly AF didn't offer me a major discount on my previous vehicle even though the dash cam was listed on their website. They conveniently claimed that their chosen underwriter didn't offer dash cam discounts. Yay, another WIN for the insurance business. I still have the dash cam (transferred to my GS) as it's a useful tool 'when' you need it but it's disappointing that an insurance discount wasn't available.
  23. If you haven't worked on the calipers yourself then I suspect the guide/slide pins are dry and just need a clean and re-grease (garages seem to rarely perform this task these days). Which would negate your need to shell out for replacement calipers, so is definitely worth a look. Are you able to check this for yourself? As for the question of vented or solid disks, take a peek through your alloys and check if the brake disk is solid or has two braking faces with webs in between. Solid are typically fitted to the rear unless it's a performance car or heavy vehicle. Also online tools usually allow you to enter your VIN to help confirm the correct components, have any asked for this?
  24. Interesting, never seen this done. I presume this is the link? http://car-act.com/product/en/04-11-Lexus-GS-old-model-tune-into-F-sport-style-body-kit.html
  25. That sound familiar, on mine the mobile chap found setting the handheld to a Rav4 worked. Go figure.
