  1. Wow, these Denso hybrid wipers are so quiet vs the cheap brand my car came with. No more flip flop, flip flop...just quiet [emoji106] I thoroughly cleaned the glass too, no doubt that helped.
  2. Slight down pressure and twist, it won't take much to get them off. Note their relative positions to the dampers in preparation for refitting. I vaguely recall untwisting the caps anti-clockwise and refitting clockwise, follow a similar procedure yourself. IF you feel anything bind up then try the opposite way. When removing the dampers, take a note of the notch position in the top and refit the new ones accordingly. I think the manual states the dampers should be in Normal mode for this procedure. Other than the top caps, rear dampers can be changed quite easily. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
  3. You've taken a note of those codes (screen shot) so clear them, as they may be from old issues. Then run the vehicle and see what shows up as current codes/issues, hopefully that's a shorter and more accurate list.
  4. @Robmac666 I presume that your dealer price included fitting right? I sourced an OEM towbar and electrics from my local stealer for <£600 and fitted it myself. I use it occasionally with a back box (boosting boot capacity) and with a bike rack (easier than a roof rack).

  6. My NS side light went out...I know, what a disaster and very un-Lexus like ! Turns out it isn't quite as straight forward to change as I had initially thought but once under the engine covers and with the washer neck out of the way it's a much easier task.
  7. Hi Andrew, it's odd that the dealer didn't jump at the chance to do the extra items but if the call center didn't pass it on then they wouldn't know. To prevent 'Chinese Whispers' in the future, does this dealer have a direct contact telephone number? As for the broken strap and legendary shock misting, don't warranty claims have to be taken up with Lexus UK before the dealer gets the nod to proceed? A broken strap isn't going to break the bank so you'd have thought they'd have done that there/then. A misting shock eh, if it were me then I'd want to see that for myself as mine were apparently 'bad' 2 years ago and are still going strong/dry some 20k miles later. My experience with my local Lexus dealer is poor but Sheffield appeared to be much more customer focused and attentive across several departments I've visited them for. I guess we're at the will of the post code lottery here Good luck getting it all sorted.
  8. It looks smart, well found. I see that it's in Dundee so I'd be interested to know what it looks like underneath, especially if it's life has been spent north of the border. Or as it's low mileage then maybe it's been a garage queen and will be relatively rust free?

  10. It's true that the HHC has been extended to 15 years and is completely independent of Lexus servicing. Mine is 11 years old and I just had mine checked. However I suspect that if your traction battery is busted when you have the check done, that Lexus will not then cover the cost of any repairs. But they would if the traction battery failure was within 1 year of the HHC being passed. Good luck getting your issue resolved Malcolm, I hope it's as simple/cheap as a new 12v battery.

The older IS handle looks to be an easy job to replace (linked below) and if you're lucky then maybe there is some cross over here to your version? I haven't done an extensive web search for your particular model so grab a coffee and see what you can find. Good luck.
  13. Is the larger figure the load space with the seats down? I've found that some sites list both seat up and down figures whereas some reviews only one set of figures, which then makes direct comparisons tricky.
  14. Images 5, 6 and 7 are the pcv valve, follow that hose to the back of the air box. I also have a blanked plug like yours and a pcv feed to the air box.
  15. Can we see pic's of your car in the area highlighted. Just under the highlighted area, on the back of the cam cover should be a valve with a hose that should snake off around/into the back of the inlet collector doohickey.   18. Thanks Andrew, so do I. Yesterday I flushed again and left the solution (Holts this time) soaking while working the fence. Flushing before and after pulled bits out of the matrix [emoji1] but there was no change to the passenger heat [emoji3525] As gunk is still coming out during the initial flushes then it may just need several attempts. Maybe there are better cleaning solutions than Winns, Holts - has anyone tried vinegar/other? I don't want to eat thru the matrix tho!!! I've had the car 2 years and passenger heat has been low and I have no idea how long it's been compromised. So the matrix may have been clogged for years. I just hope I can shift it...
  19. No problem @Vlady, Lexus Lincoln didn't accept to the LOC discount card either and gave me a similar story.
  20. The power steering is electric and after alignment or battery disconnect you should get the sensors reset. I've had the 12v battery disconnected several times without adversely affecting steering but since 4 wheel alignment the steering wheel had tugged a little on turns, across camber. All sorted now tho. While over in Sheffield I dropped into Lexus for a hybrid health check, at 115k miles and 11 years old. She passed and the traction battery now has another years warranty [emoji41]
  21. Just had the steering reset at Lex-Tek (Sheffield). Since having 4 alignment done last year the steering has wriggled a bit but now it's much better/neutral. He also checked over the poor passenger heat and all the servos seem okay. He thought it might be due to low AC but that's good and cold. So he's suggested a few more matrix flushes to shift any blockages. But if they don't work then it'll be a 2 day dash out job [emoji3525]
  22. Hi Alex, those threads look like they've had an aftermarket gear knob installed with grub screws chewing up the thread 😞 Is your tap the correct pitch? To be honest for £25 (eBay) I would just replace the gear stick, which should be an easy job with just a few securing bolts under the gaitor. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
