What I find amazing is hotels quoting their standard prices for rooms, meals etc when one try’s to book direct …… booking thru’ an Agent type business on line very often gets a much keener price …….. for the exact same I know, I own one of those online businesses and often pay @50% of the hotel ( package ) advertised prices Motto ….. don’t go to the hotel “ direct “ , go to other online booking providers and probably save money Malc

It’s been in her family for about 10 years and now of zilch value to anyone ….. dings and dents whatever . A simple base model 20 years old and only ever used recent years as that “ emergency car runabout ” when the other 2or 3 just aren’t available, being serviced etc A car thief’s worst nightmare I’d have thought ….. no “ go faster “ credence either ….. not even kids would want to steal it 😂 Zero intrinsic value …. Just huge convenience value But it serves my granddaughter well getting to and fro work at challenging hours …… and College of course Malc

TDH I think you’re being given the runaround by your seemingly useless Indy garage …… Your car is certainly repairable at modest cost if what you’re saying is actually all the relatively simple issues You just got to find someone local who wants to help you I’m thinking …… building a good rapport with an Indy mechanic is and always has been the way to build that confidence, both ways I would say ….. Be a Shame if you can’t get her Road and MOT ok Good luck Malc

Also reading far fewer teens are wanting to drive ! Clear out the Oldies and the Kids eh ! Granddaughter age 18 just passed her Test and insurance cost first year about £4k, in her name, with her dad named driver ( clean licence etc ) to reduce the premium as much as possible ….. car basic 2003 Ford Fiesta …… nil value really Lucky girl her grandad is rich 🤑 😂🥵 Malc

Shell V5 and Tesco momentum have zilch ethanol I understand it’s the ethanol that’s the plastics killer in older cars Malc

Of course you MUST factor in some older cars MUST use E5 for low ethanol content to prevent essentials plastics rot Malc
