    You have to be very very clever and have nerves of steel to be able to create a successful business, at least here in the UK .... oh, and a good deal of LUCK too very often I always support Small Businesses where I can ...     Several restaurants pubs around my area in Kent now just open at weekend times Fridays too coz the punters aren’t spending and the overheads are quite unsustainable sadly Problem getting to Sitges Barcelona whatever for dinner is that crappy journeying to and fro the uk airports and being there 3hrs before the oft delayed flight …….. oh dear, local pub restaurant it is again Weatherspoons do a pretty fair offering for the money if you’re “stuck” !     Just in case there’s any miscomprehension on the ancientness of this author I have NOT owned my 1932 Triumph Southern Cross Sports Tourer from new 😇 Just an acquisition a few decades ago from my erstwhile car sales business …… she drives a dream but like all you “ soft topped “ aficionados it’s better in the sunshine with the wind blowing thru’ my hair 😂 Malc

    Anthony why not use your usual garage / Indy mechanic that you’ve built a rapport with over the years you’ve had your cars serviced by …….. it’s not rocket science doing this job …… many normal competent garages can do this job Malc

    I’m quite sure there’ll always be a market for V8s There’s aficionados galore with the money the will and the skill to have one …… and enjoy it hugely The price and value reflects the trade-off between he who wants to buy and the seller’s perception of value …… the challenge is the profit margin any middleman dealer thinks he can screw from the next buyer ……. True Value is going to always be at the Auction ….. if you dare …….. they can be fun and rewarding to attend and occasionally need nerves of steel 🥵 Good luck with your dilemma Malc

    I’m sure you’re right about the laws in place nowadays about lorry loads being covered ….. it wasn’t always thus ! And loose cannon fodder being strewn across roads for cars to just throw up and into passing traffic won’t ever be prevented …… unless we see more road sweepers in action 🤔 Insurers probably have facts and figures and clever formulae for how much we’re all at risk ……. Well, themselves and OUR PREMIUMS 😰 Malc

    Don’t know if this might help as you have the Mk4 Alarm on the Mk3 turns right down to zero ……. the fixing is under the front centre console , just in front of that centre arm rest ….. where the gear shift is ….. be very careful not to damage the area Otherwise I’m clueless, sorry Malc

    TDH …… I understand there’s a huge number of now ancient Ls400s reposing in USA, the main overseas market for this model …… perhaps extend your search to there ! Malc

    Damaged windscreens probably a factor of more roadworks, trucks carrying uncovered hardcore/gravel whatever and more road traffic throwing-up all that detritus, stones and walloping our cars Other drivers causing it all for sure …… it’s not self inflicted by us is it 🧐 Malc

    On more modern cars gone are the days when, like on my Ls400s, a pin up the nozzle clears the crud and it then works ok A year or two back had the same problem on my 2006 Honda Legend and the washer screen jet cost about £20 to replace . and with some challenges too I'm sure someone will come to your rescue soon Good luck Malc

    I’ve had a few replacement screens over the years but only since I’ve been driving my Lss’ and since about 1999 ….. don’t recall any prior, I’ve been driving since 1967 Had chips repaired from time to time and assume that’s “ saved “ a windscreen Sometimes heard loud “ cracks “ with stones whacking it from passing traffic whatever but they’ve only ever made slight chips on the screen They're insured but the inconvenience ……. 🥵 Malc

    Rob hi. just as an aside …….My other car is a 2006 Honda Legend 3.5ltr now on 146k mikes which I’ve had for 7 years she’s very comfy and quite quick and fast and AWD so helps out with the snow and ice that my Ls400s are USELESS at Shes also ULEZ proofed for when we visit London stuff she indoors loves driving the Honda but I so much prefer my V8 4ltr Lexus limos 👌 Malc

    I’ve now grown soft, and crumpled into the comfort of my driver’s seats in my several Ls400s over these past decades 👍 My Sports performing saloons eh 🤩 Malc
