  1. Lazy V8 by comparison …… or whatever, I can’t believe the fresh Lexus engineering will provide anything less than thoroughly reliable and robust amazing driving …… residual values tho’ …… deep pockets will always be needed to buy these Lexus Top of the Range outstanding motorists dreams ……. and at some stage, years down the line, …… one will be able to have TWO toys to play with 🤩 Malc
  2. Carl, 2nd hand well looked after Lexii that aren’t usual thieves “ wants “ must be available at modest cost …… if you still wished for a Lexus ….. some of them will be very fine cars too Mondeo sounds super 👍 Malc
  3. Lexus V8s are just invincible with proper and preventative maintenance 🤩 and it really is best just to use them every day if possible Malc
  4. Long gone I’m afraid but I don’t think it was the Kippers that did for ‘im 😇 Malc
  5. My Uncle Bert lived in Bispham just outside Blackpool your parents might have received a cheque signed by him ?? …… Head of Premium Bonds ….. he actually signed the biggy winnings cheques in those ancient times 👍 Malc
  6. I'd forgotten that we have moved away from physical power steering fluid pumps to electronic power steering . sorry about that BUT there are tales around that refer to electronic snags that totally STOP any steering movement at all ..... not even heavy, just stopped DEAD in it's tracks Malc
  7. I remember going to Blackpool in the 50's, my uncle lived near there, and the sea always looked very black even then ! Uncle Bert used to send Fleetwood kippers packed in a wooden box down to us in South London as a treat . my dad loved 'em 😃 Malc
  8. Hustling Happy Hake in Hock in Holland sure surpasses turdy thamesjuice on thamesside for sure ……. Cod and Chips and Coke from the Chippy in Clerkenwell ain’t too bad either …….. 😂 Malc
  9. That “ norm “ is retail then which can be miles away from what that dealer will pay or auction results even ……30/50% after 3 years might well be 70% ! Malc
  10. Problem here is the chicken or fish needs to be “ presentable” too 😂 Malc
  11. That’s the Reisling then 👌 Malc
  12. I suppose these Specialist Repairers will emerge in other non- throwaway countries and we’ll be importing repaired bits and bobs ……. alternators whatever ! vide Sri Lanka where non-electric Singer Sewing Machines live forever AND are still sold brand new Malc
  13. And if one’s very worried about the ££££ depreciation it’s probably quite sensible to buy a well maintained not very old used car that you really really want and then that £10k a year “ cost” might become only £5k a year …… and improve one’s Bottom Line 😂 Malc
  14. if I remember with the/my Ls400s the steering weight " feel " seems to be a factor of speed and manouverability ....... it self adjusts to accommodate what you're actually doing behind the wheel ....... I was told way back ....... clever engineering in those days not sure if that applies with modern day Lexii ! Malc
  15. many years ago, a member on here was into fixing the pixels issues and I had the same problem too, not being able to remove it at all .... so, I had a day out and visited him, Southampton way was it ? and he popped the unit out and worked on it on his kitchen table and popped it all back in ...... a nice day out with plenty of coffee just a thought ! Malc
  16. You're going to be a rare person to witness any uplift in your car's value over short or long term .......... buy your cars and enjoy them as much as possible and don't concern about values . it's the car you want and to simply ENJOY .............. Its always going to be the dealers and the financiers that will be making any money out of cars ............. your money into their pockets and you holding that piece of metal that you want to invest chunks of your ££££ into ............. it will always work for them but rarely for the owner of the car .... enjoy the cars as much as possible Malc
  17. We’ve strayed a little from Hotel RipOff employer employee status and relations will never be resolved ……. in our UK working world I'm a true capitalist believing in much social responsibility and awareness and MY PERSONAL NEED to ensure my business tentacles, although not in the UK, employs worthy good honest people whom I’m happy to fully support so they can support their families whatever ……. It seems to work benevolently both ways …… a few employees fall by the wayside however when they get too arsey 🧐 A symbiotic relationship is a good way to go …… we can learn much from other nations simplicity and honesty in working relationships reading Starmer is today elevating Thatcherism to Socialism happiness …… well well well wot a turn of events 🤩👏 Im a true social, socialist capitalist …….nothing confusing there then 😇 it’s a “ win win “ for us all …… if you wish it to be …… have faith Now then, where’s the merlot 😂 …… let’s raid the Hotel Bar Malc
  18. Long term eh ! 20/30 years hence Best to use it as much as possible and maintain it well and then your heirs might inherit some useful “ value “ …… if they like Lexus Its simply a car to be enjoyed when one can 🤔 Malc
  19. My local Aldi always short of the smaller trolleys ……. asking a couple of days ago why, where are they all , clearly not in the shop with customers ….. simple answer she says …… they get stolen and scrapped ……. what a Society we live in eh ! ……. and of course I s’pose lots end up in streams etc too …… or maybe that’s where the upmarket Waitrose one’s end up ……. gone fishing 😢 Malc
  20. Just a hoar frost here yesterday morning and eve BUT all breezed away with incoming drizzle and “ warmth” up to about ZERO plus 1or 3 Queenborough Isle of Sheppey Kent ……. but where’s the wintry sunshine gone ???? Malc
  21. Was impressed tonight that the door mirrors on the 91 Ls400 heated instantly, cleared the ice and frost before anything else …….. the jazz night finished about 9.15 and all twas frosty ? ice covering the car Malc
  22. We're out and about alternate days in my 2 X Ls400s and the 3.5ltr Honda Legend is for ULEZ journeys mainly ...... don't know why I bought my second Ls400 but there we are, I have it and it will be used ......... 247k miles on the 95 car and just shy of 100k on the 91 car Insurance is for 5000 miles on each Ls400 and 7k miles on the Honda Hopes we can drive 17k miles a year going forward ..... we'll try hard to achieve it I'm sure Car collections are a bit silly for everyday use BUT even sillier if one's paying " top dollar " and suffering massive depreciation ... my 11.5 ltrs stand me in at very little money, indeed they might even be appreciating in value !😂 Malc
  23. Depreciation on all and any cars is foreknown and to be expected. The more expensive the car the greater the hit very often 35% the first year not too amiss then it softens a little to maybe 70% over the first 3 years So that £1440 the 1st month is “fine” 🥵……. except to the owner Dealers margins need to be strong to cope with this and stock financing Motto ……. buy the best value car you can and get the max JOY from it 👍 Malc
