  1. I've just had, on a call-out, the RAC replace a 5 year Guaranteed Varta battery that was supplied and replaced by them in November 2020 ( on my 3.5 ltr Honda Legend ) on a Call-Out They've replaced it with another 5yr Gteed Varta battery ...... but not extended the original warranty period tho' .... I hope this new battery lasts 5 years, but I doubt it ! On the other hand, I have had Yusua batteries for donkeys years on my Lexii and they have performed admirably ...... Toyota supplied apart from this last one on my ( new to me ) 91 Ls400 supplied by GSF ...... best price at £166 and 5 year warranty replacing the old Yusua one that had lasted some 8 years Just hope for you that Halfords don't get their batteries from Varta ! Malc
  2. that Burgundy with solid 22ct gold embellishments looks delicious Steve Malc
  3. GEN, Suggest you chat to Niaz on here about efficiently priced Ls600 spares ! Malc
  4. Grey wool 😥…….. be adventurous be multicoloured BUT why not continue the bright yellow theme 😄 Malc
  5. There we are ……. one buys a today cost new £300k car and with depreciation value drops to £6k over 20 years ……. with ongoing £200k of simple maintenance costs in that time no doubt……. Now the much older Bentleys probably with non electronic wizadry etc are a “ steal “ at £30-50k by comparison …… so where’s my 1965 S3 gone 😂 ( that’s the earliest one with standard power steering maybe ? ) Malc
  6. Miele have only been great for me Dishwashers and Vacs ……. if they made cars bits then Lexus would use them I’m sure Malc
  7. Niaz the pain you’re going thru is so hard to justify just to own a sod-ing car like a Bentley It’s no wonder there’s so many used for sale everywhere and prices seem very soft compared to new ……. I’ll never see the point in owning one, well not a “modern” one with impossible electronic wizadry Well done getting out of jail with her and I suspect your car might join the 00s on autotrader etc for sale I'm sure you’ll never encounter the impossible like issues with your Ls600 A comparatively simple car I’m sure with a wealth of Forum members to help where possible and at comparative tiny cost issues to resolve German engineering, ba humbug Well done getting that heap of junk going …… now just “ get rid “ eh ! Malc
  8. I've only ever replaced mirror glass on assorted cars with bespoke cut one's ( so they said ! well for the Honda Legend ) from a couple of UK suppliers and paid about £20/25 each for stick-on glass They do however catch onto the heat element from the underside one's they stick onto and are ok to " defrost " . so that's a bonus but don't ever accord with the vertical line on the originals It's £25 and some glue or £350 or so for originals ! Malc
  9. For me today's a good day ........... RAC chap replaced the kaput 5yr Warranty ( by them ) Varta battery with a new one but non extended warranty ..'''... to 5th November 2025 ( is that right ? originally replaced on 5th Nov 2020 ?? ) Now to ULEZ London on Thursday God Willing Malc
  10. and Ed, Berkshire will possibly get Home Rule too and impose super LEZ fees on all cars over 3years old …… especially Lexus Malc
  11. So sorry to hear your bad news Niaz Good luck and Best Wishes Malc I def won’t be getting a Bentley now …… learning something new here from you most days
  12. Toyota Lexus for “life” was is 100k miles I’ve learnt from this Forum As I’ve said before I’ve had the gearbox oil part drained and refilled on my 95 Ls400 a while ago and now on 248k she drives very smoothly I might do another partial drain at 270k miles too ….. a few years yet maybe Malc
  13. With a plastic bag super cover / liner Malc
  14. It’s a Tail Fin 🤔 Malc
  15. I know that I for one would be very wary of being on a bad business blacklist My business happens to be unfortunately with a set of “ unfortunates “ that have had huge IT problems of their own making by not trialling the new system first ……. several of my similar position members of their effective Govt Franchise down to us 450 or so, are I’m feeling bankrolled by mischievous unscrupulous individuals who are totally ****** off with a £million or two cashflow hiccups ….. those rich financing individuals will be totally unforgiving and probably overseas based and “ untouchable “ tbh I’d be amazed if they haven’t created their own blacklists of the errant individuals and a lack of open addresses at Companies House will unlikely serve as a safety net Parking is a different league I'm sure BUT that BLACKLIST will enable one to be wary of those named miscreants for the future …… and other businesses aware maybe of the ire they’ve caused ….. should they think to employ them in any capacity Just a thought ! Malc
  16. If it’s a sensible money savvy dealer they’ll throw in a good dog crate in the final price negotiated Malc
  17. And then the terrible day cometh ……… a Bentley glitch Malc
  18. Dopey idea of manufacturers to abandon the spare wheel Ultimate Design Fault methinks New Kia Carens 7 seater SUV bought for my “Boss Man “ in Delhi last month has, by virtue of the ultimate boss’s diktat ….. and Kia too probably in India, has a fully grown up spare wheel 👍 Malc
  19. RAC we’re with us, the saviours, within 2 hrs of call-out today Best wishes Malc
