Technology has sure moved apace these past decades ……. modern electronic wizadry constant drain on batteries …….
I well remember simplicity of the Wolseley 16/60 …… more than enough electric stuff to run a quality luxury car and of course, when battery fell dodgy, well there we are …… the starting handle ……. instant resolution that actually worked
So how far and well have we moved ahead in reliability stakes one wonders 🤔
Of course they hadn’t invented Lexus then …… and the early ones seem to be quite luxurious without too much electronic wizadry to be a constant drain and worry

Im sure I digress eh !
John, Niaz here has just bought a 2010 Ls600 and often Posts ……. he might have some thoughts for you …….. all looks amazingly complex and challenging
Good luck

Niaz also has a Bentley that’s occasionally challenging 😰
absolutely useless keeping your spare or spacesaver other than in the car .. the RAC whatever will have the necessary jack etc in the terrible event .
as you may remember my daughter and her family one bank holiday Sunday had a shredded tyre on their Arbath and the RAC tow truck eventually, and far away, got them to a new tyre place
Had they had that spare then the RAC guy would have simply changed the tyre in a matter of minutes and their break could have proceeded much much happier !

Guys chatting here about carrying that spare wheel or spacesaver
Essential in my view but you all know that anyway !
the Dacia Jogger tv advert doesn’t mention the spare BUT reading the sales blurb you can actually buy the spare wheel at £300 ……. So it has the space in the car and rip-off not providing it for free methinks
Why spend £300 when a spacesaver must surely be about £250 less !
I do have a bit of a passion for this modern thinking that a tube of gunk can repair a pothole shredded tyre 🥵

I get used to the door mirror position, then it goes into “ dip “ mode when reversing and throws MY perspective OUT …… I’m easily confused by the way …….. 😰

Yusua batteries . local Toyota main dealer ( along the road from Lexus in Canterbury ) advised me way back when replacing one of mine that the early original Japan Yusua batteries were made of sterner stuff and lasted much better than now ... I do instal the 5 yr gtee ones tho ?
Malc
Finlay, we don't know the point you're at with all this and the dealer ...................
I would go in hard and tell them, if you're able, that if it ain't fixed you will put them on a BLACKLIST and spread it around the Lexus Community here

The whole car looks brilliant. Well done 👍
Those wheels look pretty good too ….. professionally done a couple years back on my Mk3 cost me £260 sans the centre caps which are a solid colour plastic thru’n’thru’
The refurbished wheels colour I had done to match the centre caps …….. I didn’t have the centre caps refurbd. as their manfd. solid state colour is ok to me and I thought a top painted finish might be vulnerable 🤔
The wheels refurb whilst not gteed. he thought might last 15 years …… if I don’t bash ‘em 😂
Malc
I would leave your home finish as they look too good to mess around with right now
Well Done 👏
Scott hi
surely real life finances is simply not to payout £4k on a replacement car unless the prior sale of the Ls400 matches …….. the mileage fuel costs savings pale into insignificance by comparison
Surely !
