  1. Dialled 100 for the Operator and asked for “trunks” …… assuming one’s shared line was free ….. and then, if lucky, the Operator called you back telling you “ connected “ sir, then you could dial ( or was it ask for ?) that other rare number …… my Uncle Bert in Bispham Blackpool 🤔 Malc
  2. If you go to the Toyota Spares Dept and negotiate a fair price for your replacement battery ( Yusua 5yr gtee. ) they might free-fit and take care to ensure all is in order …. If you remind them ….. whilst you’re sipping their free coffee ! And that disposes of your old battery too of course Malc
  3. Just re-reading the exploits of an erstwhile colleague who was in the Army ….. a very brave guy ,,,,, Richard Vaughan Griffith …… when Britain protected the Red Sea shipping lanes with its Protectorate of Aden …. In the reign of QE 11 ( rip ) Malc Times never change, just the stupid politics and weaponry
  4. and your “ sealing in “ whatever you’re painting over, rust and all ! Malc
  5. Forever had that BT landline since my parents on New Cross 0728 back in the 1950’s just hanging on in there with the last gasp of my landline as the people I called in Australia only had a landline …… they’ve “ passed “ I never answer the landline now, it was only ever scam calls recent times …… but it’s there till my contract expires later this year when it will get dumped …… I don’t pay for the landline UNLESS I make any non-existent calls to anywhere relying on our mobiles is fine….. they seem to cover all and any eventuality ALWAYS Strange tho’ My business office in Delhi has several UK landline 020…. Numbers that’s free for UK callers to contact …… but I pay Acefone monthly whatever, my Delhi provider …… Until my UK contracts expire later this year ( I think ) I’m with TalkTalk for home Wi-Fi and. 3.for iPhone mobile calls etc Zen has popped up here and I’ll investigate that at the time ….. it’s not available all over the uk tho’ Cruises, Ambassador anyway now use the Musk Starlink facility and I’ll hope that’s better than the crappy Wi-Fi cruises used to have and charge a fortune for SYNOPSIS for you: Dump your landline and provider PROVIDED you have a great mobile signal of course Good luck Malc
  6. Could be worth that “ broken “ 🤔 or even as a daily runaround Do I want an Sc430 😂 Few days holidaying in the snow in Blackpool to decide 😇 Malc
  7. Insce is a quagmire and often no rhyme nor reason for different pricing between the insurers ……. try Chris Knott ….. honest and great reviews and answer the phone too Malc
  8. Popeye could probably lift two easily …… do you eat spinach 🤫 Malc
  9. And we know it’s Quality coz we often use SGS to regas our bonnet struts etc 👍 Malc
  10. Reduced reservoir fluid level maybe ……. pas fluid you can “ feel “ dripped onto the alternator too ? Malc
  11. Like the developers at British Leyland with the amazing rust avoided and proofed against all Aluminium Rover 2000 ……. then they just corroded to “ white dust “ ……. Prettier than red brown rust of course but same effect …….possibly very few Rovers of that construction about these days 🤔 Malc
  12. Or we get Basil t’ Brush up there to zip along the gutters with a pot of bitumen Overhead amateur camera drone might help identify the exact issues you’re facing …… my son in law ( teccy geek ) a while back did this for me trying to identify where the heck I had a problem on my 400 y/o house roofs and ridges ….. never did find them …… rain has a habit of entering and travelling some distance before it penetrates that weak spot somewhere in the house 🥵 If it’s just rain drips and they aren’t penetrating the house then I’d be inclined to de-stress, relinquish the worry and have another cuppa 😇 Malc
  13. never heard of these but I do remember having a craftcast concrete house built just postwar time . wonderful huge house, built like an air raid shelter, bomb proof, with gutters in the roof mould but bitumened along with the roof covering ......... never had that drip problem BUT I might suggest leaving well alone if it's just drips during rain time . so long as it's not penetrating the house fabric .. it's only rain ! Huge repair costs prevail in many building trades .......... pot of bitumen along the whole length or maybe just bitumen the cracks and joints .......... it's only rain drips . save your £££££ for the Lexus ! ( Toyota ) Malc
  14. A friend had a brand new Lancia summat or other back in the day, maybe 35 yrs ago. …… failed it’s very first MOT on copious serious RUST Malc
  15. my last one went pop at about 210k? miles without interference from the PAS unit What mileage is your car on ? Malc
  16. Hey it’s good your cars still running well and your horror experiences have worked out fine …… still doesn’t improve its value tho’ …… it’s just not yet a ‘ scrapper ‘ 😂 Malc
  17. I meant of course from the Toyota spares dept nearby ! with free coffee as they free-fit the replacement battery Malc
  18. Remembering the MOT is just at that moment in time and sometimes, sadly, subject to possible bribery and corruption to get the " right " outcome by a devious owner / seller Often a good idea to have a fresh MOT undertaken by an independent and trusted MOT Tester 😉 Malc
  19. The normal 12v car batteries I've bought from Lexus have always been keenly priced to a Motor Factor's Malc
  20. Methinks avoid Mercs as the upkeep costs might bankrupt one Honda Toyota and Lexus are the way to go for your luxury “ barge “ I just would forever try to avoid all that modern electronic wizadry that’s going to cost you a small fortune down the line ……. whichever the Marque Malc My senior employee guy in Delhi has just taken delivery of a brand new Kia Carens 7 seater for him, his driver and his family ….. I’m expecting motoring longevity for sure
