    I doubt it’s just UK originating stolen cars feeding the Africa and Eastern Europe crooked car dealers and breakers …….. How they get into containers and then freely onboard ships baffles me ……. does no one check, Maersk themselves whatever ? Clearly the UK insurance industry doesn’t care a hoot …… possibly not economically viable for them to set up any sort of checking system ! Simply up the insce premiums to cover themselves OR not even insure some marques …… like Range Rovers now I understand Best to simply own a car not worth thieving maybe 🤔 Malc

    their £40 an hour rate is brilliantly small ......... my cars have always lived next the sea and I've never suffered anything like terminal corrosion or indeed anything remotely corrosive ....... and my Ls400 ( 95 ) has lasted with zero extra treatment after leaving the factory ....... and now 248k miles fast approching Dont get paranoid about the " rust " that's possibly non existent Malc

    Take care where you pull up when driving slowly …… unexpected black ice on the road today and knew the rear wheel spinning to “ go” wasn’t a sensible place to stop ……. Very gentle reversing, slipping back to a dry spot to get some grip traction to gently go forwards …… all ok of course BUT just be more aware of your limitations AND take your time to achieve what you wish for I always vow not to take the Ls400 out on snow and ice ….. she’s USELESS , zero traction Will i never learn 😂 Malc

    Wake up every morning and think, WOW another great day ahead ……. whatever …… I’ve woken up and ALWAYS see the “ bright side “ in everything and also how to turn others negativity around …… It’s so important to be upbeat in life …… makes everyone happier maybe When you’ve had cancer whatever and been staring death in the face it sort of changes one’s outlook to just think POSITIVE Malc China huh it’s only people who generally want to get on with the other 80% of humanity !

    Most sane people, ordinary people can rarely afford a brand new car personally ............ older Lss' usually perform admirably well with sensible looking after, servicing and use .......... we are blessed to have the sense to not have too much spare money to pop into cars maybe 🤣 Now then, where's my new school Hydrogen Power Toyota to rebadge to my personalised Ls700 ...... when BP roll out the pumps to their 1200 service stations in the UK . in my lifetime maybe In the meantime a bunch of old Ls400s will suffice for me eh ! 😇 Malc

    The rust spots under the door centre trim have been quite extensively referred to in the past ……. in the earlier Ls400s and 430s …… might be worth tracking those Posts down somehow 🤔 Best wishes with it all …… acceptance of paint blemishes on older cars is sometimes the practical way forward Good luck Malc

    Makes me wonder why Lexus owners wish to spend £50,60,80,100k on a brand new Lexus limo when one can buy the “ best” for comparative pennies AND get reliability and superb comfort with just about zero depreciation 🤔 Malc

    J73PBX my 91 Ls400 but for some inexplicable reason she’s developed an occasional creak in the suspension somewhere 😰…… but I do know that sometimes I’ve gone to start the engine and found she’s already running ….. can’t hear her if I’ve been idling maybe chatting with someone …… simple but effective beautiful technology for sure Very powerful, quick fast and comfortable ……. and immeasurably usually reliable too 👍 Malc

    Need to be tucked up in a good hotel in the Highlands with beautiful views …… warming one’s toes in front of the open fire relaxing in the club armchair with a whisky or two ……. not digging out one’s car nor struggling to get anywhere ……. ah bliss …… if only eh ! 👍 Malc blue skies and sunshine here in my part of Kent but well sub zero temps

    Insurers have forever operated an effective CARTEL in all but name and there’s bugger all the Competition Authorities can do about it I’m sure ……. it’s a complex business and the insured simply gets screwed over whatever the product being bought I can’t believe this will ever be unravelled to the financial, premium reducing benefit of us punters Just summat we have to live with if we want to run cars I’m afraid I think I’m being a realist 🥵 Malc

    On my Ls400 way back the issue, like you now have, was simply an air lock in the water system …… how you check that out and sort it on your car maybe another owner will emerge to advise ! Good luck Malc

    I’ve always found the Sales people very knowledgable and pleasant …… I’m just a little peeeed that when my 95 Ls400 reaches age 30 Saga won’t insure her they tell me ….. came as a bit of a surprise to the Sales Agent too when renewing my cover last time …… my 91 Ls400 is with Dan’s group so I’ll possibly have them both with his AF setup then …… I’ve been on the Saga 3 yr fixed deals too …… my 2006 Honda Legend which is the youngster might continue unabated ……. let’s see, there’s zero “ loyalty “ from insurers methinks Malc

    Amayama and Rockauto used to be , for my Ls400s, £££ hundreds cheaper than the Main Dealer for say the UCAs Malc

    I really don’t know BUT I doubt the Lexus Main Dealer holds stocks of spares if the Toyota main dealer spares Dept is just 9 miles away, around the corner in dealership terms ! I’ve always found replacement “ big ticket “ spares are much better value from Amayama, Rockauto , LexusPartsDirect whatever Filters, oils etc from most everyday Motor Factors too Malc
