there's just too much detritus lying around these days for any vehicle to throw up and hit one's car ........... even small speeds collect the crud ...... the rules of allowing stones whatever to escape from trucks etc need to be enforced more maybe .......... more cars, more trucks with earth stones whatever and inevitably there's smashed glass 🤑 It won't change I'm sure sadly Malc

Lexus Toyota do NOT make glass ……. in the UK there might well be good stock of your specific windscreen and your insurer, presuming it’s being replaced under that cover, will direct their usual supplier to provide …… be it Autoglass or whatever …… they will provide and properly fit and adjust everything correctly in accord with their professional obligation to their paymaster ……. You or your Insurer …… worry not, all should be ok They’ll probably provide a Lexus Toyota embossed screen if one’s available in stock Malc

Each and every decade seemed pretty good to me …… it’s only quite recently …… this past decade or two, that Japanese quality cars have manifestly outshone the rest …… but it’s all personal opinion …… Toyota / Lexus Honda. Mazda. Mitsubishi have climbed that credibility ladder throwing the rest of car production reliability asunder imho i think Kia is now amazingly good, even great too …… 7 yr warranties that rarely need to be used ! If it's a genuine BluePrint product then it should be ok ...... BUT I'm not a great fan of their stuff tbh I replaced such a cap on an earlier Ls400 from an established Motor Factor tho ........... many years back, can't remember the price but it was much less expensive than from my local Lexus Spares Dept ...... sadly that car's long gone ! Stuart I’d let you have my 91 Mk1 car as replacement but if you’re being targeted coz it’s a Classic car then that would be challenging to bear tbh Malc

25 years or so sounds a good forecast outcome and not moving home built into the fiscal thoughts too …….. wonder what “ add-on “ house value there might be for any on-sale if ever 🤔 I don’t much look at houses for sale these days but when I do I don’t notice any mega upgrade on solar stuff ever mentioned ……. might be they just don’t have any done yet ……… You’d have to be young enough to factor in uplift in value benefits when focussing on the house price one’s thinking to buy ……. BUT what about depreciating the asset technology to write-off and likely cost of needing a sinking fund to replace it all at some future time ….. especially as technology changes/improves and the asset simply wears out ??
