  1. Happened the other day again AND I remembered to just gently wiggle the ignition key and ZAP all back to normal and ok .......... full set of dash lights again Malc
  2. And some beautiful sandy beaches 🤩 …….. guess the tyres wouldn’t wear out ! Malc
  3. 5 miles a week chasing along the beach at low’ish tide quite stimulating 😂 Malc
  4. Most interesting ……. for me anyway, but then I am a little “ odd” no doubt ……. Not just Old but Odd too 😄 Deep analysis and photos most welcome please Malc
  5. I’m amazed and well done discovering this Japanese factory manufacturing output design specific to user country, LHD /RHD is quite incredible that they should or even could do this ……. Well done discovering the nuance Good luck tracking down your new windscreen Malc
  6. I don't find this very credible tbh ....... they wouldn't make the car main body specific to the different end-market, UK or EU and i suggest you seek some further advice about this non-fitting, curve issue .... it just doesn't seem at all plausible ......... to me anyway ! The windscreen replacement for your speific 2004 car will be generic Good luck with your further investigations Malc
  7. Jayne Louise .............. and Paul . did any of this visit progress ? Malc
  8. Uncle Bob ….. Blimey, you’ve raised alive a 21 year old Post 😂 I mentioned somewhere years ago that on my V8 4ltr Ls400 driving perpetually in PWR seemed to actually slightly improve the mpg …… now on E5 of course …… not checked it for a while tho’ Malc
  9. Reading up on the Nexen tyres ……. one might want to replace on quality BUT not sure of that necessary size availability these days ! They’re 15” I remember 🤔 Malc
  10. any fresh MOT should reveal any issues to worry about with rust and failing springs ……. new springs fitted, yes, looks probable 👍 I remember my 95 car had one fresh new spring when I bought her at 123k miles, ( 2011 ) reinstated by the owner when converting back from DHP for me on purchase ….. the original springs he had safely stored but when re-fitting discovered one had just “ snapped / broken “ whilst in storage ……. They are prone to sadly just “ snapping “ and can be piecemeal replaced …… assuming they’re still available ! Malc
  11. Visited Beverley passing thru some years back ……. didn’t visit the Minster …… I shall do next time around Reading a while back that car parking, even entering York requires some sort of Special Permit these days 😰 Malc
  12. Max hi, I suspect the owner just gave up driving and couldn't bear to part with his car and laid it up for a while ....... garaged and washed sometimes and hence tiny mileage ...... possibly a totally rust free car ................... with even the Y pipe good for another 100k miles 🤣 The vendor will give it all a spruce-up and regular service and a fresh MOT ............... might last another 33 years even doing 10k miles per annum If I bought such a car I would just use her as a main car and get the full enjoyment from such wonderful motoring As I do ......... driving around in a pair of elderly Ls400s is utter JOY Malc
  13. Brilliant synopsis of how I too feel and experience todays motoring madness …….. I’m no cyclist ….. I just go for my 30 min 20 lengths swim a few times a week to de-stress from driving …… heaven knows how people cope driving in anything other than a Lexus limo But I couldn’t cope with all that electronic wizadry on a modern Lexus tbh ……. Life needs the simplicity of an aged Ls400 surrounding me 😂 Malc
  14. But I’ve not yet grown up surely 🤣 Being adult must be such a chore and responsibility 😂 Malc
  15. BUT I bet it was electonicory less than todays cars and immensely reliable with robust engineering …….. and sadly rust probably it’s ultimate failing 😰 Malc
  16. Cars throughout the decades have been generally quite marvellous …….. affordability has usually been the limiting factor for most people I'm thinking ……. My 1932 Triumph was a “ rich man’s “ sports car ……. Indeed “ ordinary “ working people had no hope of owning a car ……. Affordability has improved immensely over all time, over all the decades since …….. early 90’s not so I’m thinking ……my being made redundant as a banker in 91 was merely a reflection on the UK and global economy ……. that deteriorated somewhat at that time BUT the glorious Ls400 came about and on reflection sold very few cars here …….. economic issues no doubt for the “ average “ working man ( whatever that might be ) …….. and each decade since car sales have blossomed I’m thinking ……. I haven’t checked the stats tho’ so I might be hopelessly wrong ……. Cars have seemingly become greatly affordable with all sorts of finance schemes …… as we’re never dreamnt 20/30/50/80 years ago Yes the 90’s were good but so is every other decade too ….. in part ….. for some 🤔 Always think positive, it helps 👍 Malc
  17. Reading much earlier posts on this Forum ……. Overall, replacement bushes require immense pressure to refit and are generally beyond the realm of most individuals and garages to achieve …….. manufacturing has those specialist presses to achieve Finding someone to do what you wish could be challenging Good luck Malc
  18. Each and every decade, and the years in between, and outside, have been amazingly wonderful, almost 100% …….. for me anyway 😄 It’s simply an attitude on life and towards people that make for “ the best decades” in one’s life 90’s we’re good for sure ……… roll on the rest of the 2020’s and thenceforth …… just make, if you can, every day count positively ……… But as for cars …….. well the 90’s were great with the production of the amazing Ls400 for some 10 years and a little at the side of that decade too Life's good ENJOY Malc
  19. Wot a load of Bol—ock s …….. bring it back to cars please ……. No one’s going to agree on the magnificent health changes. Societal changes, Sadie khan and TFL let alone politics Cars we might know a little about though 🤔🤣 Malc
  20. Seems to be on a probably scrapped BMW 525 now ! Malc
  21. Don’t s’pose you recall your Ls400 regn no. ? Malc
  22. Many might use their phones …… wayze. google maps whatever …… rather than trying to achieve “ the impossible “ Malc
  23. There’s maybe a 95 car coming up for sale at Lytham St Anne’s shortly ….. if that’s close’ish to you see the posts on here about it if you’re interested 🤔 Malc
