We all have I'm afraid 😉 Let's not forget the funding costs these impoverished Insurance Company owners are having to face these days too .... they have to get some bucks in from somewhere ......... the businesses bought by these Investors for many billions of whatever just cannot " balance the books " anymore Not just (part business) insurers like Saga and their overall business model . bought for £1.5bn some years back and no hope of making it work financially methinks There's the others too like Morrisons Investors at £10 bn + .... wonder why they aren't into insurance yet 🤣 We're just their pawns to be chewed over and spat out at a whim when the fancy takes them .............. Hearing today that Nissan are turning off early EV Leaf car functionality due to 2G being disbanded and this affects pre 2016 cars at the moment Road Safety people are trying to get manufacturers to abandon the ipad type driver's screen due to drivers attention being taken away from actually driving and causing accidents and Mazda have refused to move over to this type of ipad screen on their new cars generally .................. Wondering if Lexus are taking note of the EV " turning off " concept ........ not charging extra to turn on functionality ( which I understand Tesla are now doing ) AND what the real life is of the Lexus EV and modern car driver's screen vista If Lexus make change to all this will it likely have a much accellerating depreciating value to their current car models ?? Just some thoughts ! Malc

Jobs aplenty here nowadays …… much industry and daily commute INwards to Sheppey from outlying mainland areas ……. Indeed the majority of employees, 400+ at our Aldi distribution centre are daily inward migrants I believe …… bit like Gibraltar with inward daily migration for the jobs on offer ……. If you’ve ever seen the Qs of workers crossing the border from mainland Spain every day 🤔 ……. and then going back home in the evening 👌 Roads roads and more roads here now …….. potholes aplenty for sure Malc

Changed and changing immeasurably …… with projected zillions of new homes with roads to match and de-supamkts …….. indeed a relatively newish Morrisons and within half mile a brand new Aldi AND Lidl being built …….. housing galore a’coming methinks …….. new roads, cones by the miles and potholes from all those heavy trucks earth shifting forever …… potholes pot’oles and more putoles……. traffic calming for sure …….. blessed by the Queenborough Town Quay for me ……… so where can I possibly go motoring to excess in my 4ltr V8 bliss-machines …… 20mph zone here toooooo ….. No old roads under bridges now in sheerness …….. there were trams in olden times too I’ve been reading ……. near where I now live on the delightful Isle of Sheppey ……. Why on earth be concerned about Showroom Condition ……. just get her useable and enjoy the driving in a marvellous limo My two are 248k and 99k miles and brilliant everyday cars with assorted dings and dents that just don’t affect the comfort joy and bliss of outstanding driving …….. I just alternate their daily use …… no favourites here Your damp you can sort if you try hard enough I’m sure ….. and ££££ free too probably and the dash light bulbs just might be that ….. £1.50 bulbs ! It’s old school electronics and technology remember Keep any new regn no. on that larger plate holder for sure …… why worry what outside observers observe in the detail 🤔 Go get her sorted ….. you know it makes sense ….. and will give you immense pleasure when done ✅ ……. and possibly a store of increasing value if you’re really concerned on that point Malc

Plastic panels protection is a new one to me 🤔……. what happens if the plastic gets damaged, let’s in water that just sits there corroding away not breathing 😰 Doubtless new vehicle design takes account of all that 🥳🥳🥳 …… to my mind maybe some design built-in obsolescence to last the likely life of any new car, 10 years?? before the electronics jump out and bite ya 🥵 I might not be the person you want to listen to here ……. others might have different more rational thoughts 🤞 Good luck Malc

You’ve just totally underused her and she’s suffered coz of it maybe ……… reading past MOT issues you’ve probably already done some major works and those items not to be repeated with future tiny annual mileage possibly …….. that welding needs attention but if that’s all it is then that looks very limited ……. and do-able by someone who wants to save your car …… I’d personally be getting another small credible independent local garage, that does modest welding, to reassess your problem car and come up with their realistic estimate to get her thru’ an MOT and up and running again But then I’m a bit of a Ls400 believer and think these beasts might go on forever with a little ££££ “ invested “ in her …… The Number Plate value alone might actually cover your on-going repair costs …… I don’t have that need but someone here might ……… I’d have thought £1000 value might be achievable + all those DVLA change costs …….. a little summat to have a think about maybe 🤔 Best wishes with it all …….. more thoughts ???
